Chapter 5 Level Up

-2 Hours earlier-

While Aldelio was on his way to the adventurers guild he saw someone familiar to him rushed towards the doors of the guild.

"Is that Louisiana?, why does she look liked she came from a ranger bootcamp"

Not long after she got inside, the place seems to become more noisy and people began to ran frantically from all over the place in the guild. Aldelio frowned as he suddenly got a bad feeling about this.

Alisa a receptionist in the adventurers guild, she wore a black suit vest and pants she also had a black ribbon in her collar. Alisa was content with her job in the guild she reports quests that are completed, giving advises she was pretty much pretty fond of this while she was just minding her daily work a person barge through the door, she look haggard and desperation can be seen in her eyes. nearby adventurers came to her and ask what happened afterwards the blood in their began to drain as their faces also became pale.

Alisa frowned as things doesn't look good, the girl together with the adventurers helping her move as it looks like she exhausted all of her strength that she can't stand up moved towards her and reported something horrible. Alisa gestured to a nearby guild staff to come over.

"Give me the quest that has been taken by the 'Dexter Party' and remove it from the quest board"

The guild staff nodded as he came back with the quest in his hand, he then gave it to Alisa and she began to inspect the quest. Alisa suddenly raised a eyebrow when she saw the person who put up the quest.

"Louisiana can i ask you a question?"

"Yes"

"Can you describe me the appearance of the village chief?"

Louisiana nodded then she began to tell the description of the village chief of the driftwood village, Alisa then furrowed her brows cause she knew the village chief of the village and it doesn't match what Louisiana has said to her. 'something is wrong here' Alisa thought then she immediately bark orders to the staff guild.

"Announce that we will be posting a emergency quest in the quest board, all party and individual adventurers above Rank-E must participate in the request and alert the order of the knights about the hobgoblin horde that is heading towards the driftwood village, I'm gonna take this matter to the guildmaster"

Everyone nodded as the guild staff began to moved all over the place to announce the emergency request while the others run off to the order of knights. after the emergency quest has been announced the adventurers began to move, some parties has already set out in carriage towards driftwood village while others are planning their course of action.

Adelio opened the doors of the guild as he went inside the place, he saw many of the guild staff are running all over the place and some adventurers are rushing towards the exit. while he passed by a group of adventurers he heard a bit of their conversation.

"Looks like they have announced a emergency request, whatever it is it won't be pretty"

"The emergency quest said location was in the driftwood village we can run towards there cause it was not that far from here but i don't think we can help the party that was mentioned in the quest"

Aldelio's ears perked up as he listened to them. 'Emergency quest?, what is going on?' after he passed by the group of adventurers he began to look where he can find Louisiana after a few moments he found her resting in the table as she looks very tired.

"*pant* *pant*....damn....that was...exhausting"

Louisiana huffed as she was grasping for air after a few moments she then taken a deep breath and stabilized her breathing a few moments more she then saw someone very familiar approaching her, she was shocked and her pupil constricted when she saw Alex's brother. Aldelio

"Aldelio what are you doing here?"

"Before that i have to ask you something, what is going on?"

"I-"

Louisiana tried to him what happened however she hesitated because she cannot let Alex's brother worry about him. Just as she was about to say something but stopped Aldelio's eyes narrowed he then looked as Louisiana and glared at her. Louisiana broke cold sweat as she felt shivers on her body.

'wh-what's going on, what is this feeling!'

Aldelio Alastair was a former SF soldier in his past life as someone who have been through battles that involves life and death situations he can give off something akin to what we call a 'killing intent' when one was suddenly exposed to this 'killing intent' without any prior experience towards it they can either lost some rationality and submit to fear or get a very uncomfortable feeling, right now the former is happening to Louisiana as Aldelio want answers.

"Louisiana are you hiding something from me?"

Aldelio asked while making a 'smile' , Louisiana then narrowed her eyes at Aldelio however when she did that she felt chills and her body began to shake uncontrollably afterwards she remembered Aldelio's question it replayed inside her mind but every time it does, the voice became more and more deep and fierce as it echoed throughout. being exposed to this unknown feeling while Aldelio was giving out pressure Louisiana's instinct has subconsciously taken over making her speak what happened to Alex.

"I see so that's what happened"

Aldelio couldn't help but curse inside his heart to think that his brother was in danger naturally as his brother he wants to help him, in his past life Aldelio was a single child so he doesn't have any siblings when he have known that he had a brother he felt overjoyed cause this is the first time he had a brother although sometimes he can be annoying cause he's disturbing my reading time nonetheless he is still my brother.

"Damn it!"

Aldelio then decided to make a run for it to the Driftwood village however he knew that even if he made a run for it he doesn't think that he can reach there in time Aldelio couldn't help but sigh and think that at times like these if only he has a vehicle to use, suddenly Aldelio remembered something important his {Creation Menu}! if he could somehow level up his tech level he might have access to vehicles and reach there just in time.

"But..."

How can he do it? right now he is already in the road leading towards his town to Driftwood village and he still didn't find any monsters along the way however just as he said that in the distance he saw a carriage being attacked by bandits the carriage doesn't seem to be your ordinary carriage it was painted blue and it has some escorts although most of those escorts are dead.

"Bandits eh, i never thought i could encounter them right now although i prefer to kill monsters rather than humans, right now i have no time to waste"

He then putted away his sword that he bought at the weapon smith into his inventory and brought out his MP 18 currently he could at least see 6 bandits attacking the carriage, 1 seems to be wearing heavy armor and there are 2 archers and 3 mages this seems to be overkill for a bandit group however he doesn't care if they are overkill right now he needs to level up his level to upgrade his Tech level to lvl 2

"fuu....."

Aldelio takes a deep breath and stops midway making his distance to him and the carriage at least 15 meters, the overkill bandits are currently busy attacking the carriage in the front so they didn't noticed Aldelio was behind them. after taking another deep breath he then aimed his MP 18 at the bandits and pulled the trigger.

*bang bang*

with a series of small but loud explosion the bandits began to fall one by one, the person wearing the heavy armor was ridiculed with holes as the bullet penetrate through it and the mages was shocked when they heard the loud sound making 2 of them panicked and tried to put up some sort of magical barrier but the bullet reached their heads first while the last one was stunned to see his friends die.

"puwak-!"

the third mage puked blood and his vision turned blurry afterwards he fell down to the ground with his chest full of holes, the archers are not spared either as they are also been shot into oblivion.

"Phew, this gun is nasty but..."

Just after the notifications has been stopped Aldelio felt that his body was reasonably stronger than before.

"fuuu.....this feels surreal"

Aldelio was in dazed for a few moments due to the addicting feeling before snapping back to reality, he then opened up the {Creation Menu} and selected Vehicles and picked the sub category of WW2 Era.

"This could do"

Aldelio said once he has picked his desired vehicle. the vehicle he has chosen was the Willys MB also known as 'Willys Jeep' the Willys Jeep was a 4x4 utility truck commonly used by the american forces in the WW2, this vehicle is perfect for off-road driving especially since Aldelio was going to the Driftwood Forest. after spending at least 580 of his mana the jeep began to form slowly out of thin air afterwards.

*thud*

With a loud thud the four wheeled 4x4 utility appeared before Aldelio, the vehicle is painted with the classic green color of the US army with a 50.cal outfitted on it's back seat. With haste Aldelio immediately hopped into the driver seat and drove off to the forest.

"I hope I can make it in time!"

After driving for 30 minutes Aldelio finally reached the Driftwood forest

However he cannot drive through the forest because it is too dense for the vehicle to fit through. With no choice Aldelio was forced to leave the Willys Jeep in the edge of the forest, while he was driving on his way into the forest he also had the opportunity to create a new weapon the Winchester Model 1897, the Winchester Model 1897 is a pump-action shotgun this weapon has explosive power at close range however it is not effective against targets that are farther than 20 meters but this shotgun is perfect against grouped targets like the hobgoblin horde at only the cost of 132 mana, shotgun shells included, taking out his new weapon loaded with 12-gauge shells he dashed through the forest.

*roar*

A loud roar can be heard in the distance as Aldelio kept running by the trees

"That must be where Alex and his group are fighting, What!"

Suddenly he is attacked by monsters other than the hobgoblins which is the orcs, Aldelio was a bit suspicious of the orcs cause he never heard any orc sightings in what Louisiana has said to him, like goblins and hobgoblins, orcs are also humanoid creatures that are much stronger than them however they look more like bipedal pigs with oversized muscles for someone like Aldelio. And what's more, orc and goblins don't get along together so how come are they not attacking the goblins?, if I we're them I would attack their base right now while they are busy dealing with the humans However this is not important for Aldelio at the moment.

"Tch, outta my way!"

*bang*

With his shotgun Aldelio just kept dashing through the forest and even if there is an orc he just need to pull the trigger and then the orcs will be dead bodies, even if orcs are much stronger than goblins and hobgoblins they are still no match for the Winchester Model 1897 as it blows their body parts off.

*crash*

"Woah!"

Suddenly the ground started to shake for a moment and in the distance Aldelio saw a figure flying through the air.

"That's!"

His pupils constricted as he also felt fear, the figure he saw flying in the air is none other than his brother Alex. Cursing, Aldelio immediately ran again.

"Alex!"

Aldelio finally reached the battlefield, he saw his brother and Dexter lying by the rock and seems to be unconscious and some of the party members are already dead as he can see some body parts scattered apart, most likely they we're smashed into pieces after looking at the current situation a bit more the one who most likely caused all of this is the goblin king, gritting his teeth Aldelio was furious because he let people die and he even let his brother got hurt because he still didn't made it in time.

"You bastard, how dare you!"

*growls*

The Goblin King growled as he now saw a new prey to kill, currently the Goblin King is in the center with Aldelio in the front of him by at least 15 meters away and in his side you can see Alex and Dexter by the rock and their distance is at least 6 meters and after 4 more meters you can see Mark by the tree.

"Haaaa!"

*Bang, Bang, Bang*

Aldelio rushed towards the Goblin King as he fired his shotgun consecutively in just a few moments, naturally he only fired his shotgun when he is at least 5 meters away to get the maximum effectiveness however when Aldelio did the first shot it already exploded the face of the Goblin King, the 2nd and 3rd shots were just made in the spur of the moment cause Aldelio never thought that the shotgun could kill the Goblin King with just 1 shot.

"Eh?"
