Poor old Lenny

Father says to cry after a man was like to waste tears over the departure of a mule. They are quite the same with different sizes and names, doesn't make them any better.

"What did you find?" Elena asked Emberline, hurried and unnerved.

"He is not a good man Lenny!" She shouted over her.

"Pray, What happened?" Lenny questioned again.

"I saw him break the neck of a man walking down the street!" She accused, and the look of horror on Lenny's face was evident.

"But this can't be!"

"It happened!" Emberline returned.

"No" Lenny whispered to herself.

"And when I sought to follow him, he had already been at my trail!" Emberline exclaimed.

"No, no, I'll ask him myself, for he is a reasonable man," Lenny told herself. Her eyes searched outside the small crack in the window.

"Not everyone is reasonable you foolish girl" Emberline told her. "You must've told him yourself of our search!"

"I did not!"
