Chapter 25: Into the Unknown

[92nd day of 1021 at 6:37 AM]

A whole new morning had greeted them at the outskirt of the Forest of Lloyd. The sun's ray hits the soft skin of Rubick and also, produces a warm sensation that causes him to wake up.

It's almost a whole day since the time that Yusoph accidentally encountered the Evil God of Bones and it almost wiped out the "Flaming Ember".

--------------------------

Rubick finally opened his eyes just to see that her mother had already gotten out at where she laid her body down to take her sleep. He immediately turned his head at his father and Priestess Isabelle's resting place to be surprised that they already finished organizing the things they used as sleeping materials, the same thing as Mary.

Mary immediately saw that her son had already woken up from his deep slumber and she quickly went to where her son had been currently rubbing his eyes.

"Good morning, Rubick." Mary greeted her son lovingly.

"Are you still sleepy?" she added.

"No…Mama…." He replied

"Okay, you can have this bread and eat it before we leave this place, got it?" Mary had given Rubick a piece of bread with a smile.

"Yet… Mama…" he replied to his mother.

Rubick immediately sits on where he had fallen asleep and he scrumptiously ate the piece of bread that his mother had given him. His parents and Priestess Isabelle had already finished their breakfast when Rubick was still asleep, and that's why he was eating alone at the present moment.

{30 minutes had passed}

[92nd day of 1021 at 7:12 AM]

"Are you already done eating your food, Rubick?" Yusoph said question to his son.

"Done…Papa…" he replied to his father while a visible crumb of bread had been left beside his mouth.

"Papa…? Water?" he asked directly his father.

"Ahhh, sorry, you can have this." Yusoph immediately aided what his son had been asking for.

Yusoph snaps his finger and a visible floating spherical water had appeared right beside him and he directly leads it in the direction of his son.

Rubick had been amazed at what his father just did, he can see an almost transparent and clear water levitating in the air. His face drew an excited look but after a few seconds, it immediately shifted into a hesitating look.

"Is this safe? Is this allowed to be drunk?" a question had formed inside the head of Rubick and it was because this was his very first time. Unlike the natural water that they drank last night at dinner, this one had directly come from his father's magical prowess, so that's why he was quite skeptical as of the moment.

Yusoph saw the hesitation on the face of his son and he immediately said "It's safe Rubick, you can drink this water the same as you drink the natural water"

Yusoph had said the fact about it, but it really does not validate that it is truly safe to drink it. As a form of evidence that it is potable water, he initiated drinking it first before his son.

Yusoph went closer to the levitating spherical water and he drinks at it for about a few gulps. Rubick saw what his father had been doing, up until he was finished but still a hesitation was visible on his face.

"It is safe my son, I just drank from it." Yusoph stated.

"It is safe my little boy, I and Priestess Isabelle drank the same water earlier." Mary had testified that the water was safe.

Rubick turned his head at his mother to look at it for a few seconds and he immediately went looking back at the levitating spherical water in front of him.

"Well, this is a do-or-die!" Rubick finally settled aside his hesitation and immediately went closer to the water and he put his mouth on it.

Rubick closes his eyes because he wasn't sure, but after taking a few gulps he slowly opened his eyes and finally appreciates the water that his father had provided for him.

The water tasted a little sweet and it possesses a cooling sensation when it enters his mouth. He immediately concluded that this water was the best water that he tasted after living at Lebradour. The water last night at their dinner was incomparable to what he had been drinking now.

"Mages are awesome!!!" the thought inside his mind.

"If mages are these flexible, then they really do deserve massive recognition in society!!" he added in his thoughts.

After drinking a few gulps of water that his father had provided for him, his thirst finally subsided.

"Papa… Amazing!!!" he finally complemented his father!

Yusoph had been touched by what his son had just told him. He felt that he really deserves to have a child even though sometimes he becomes immature. Yusoph turned his head at Mary and he lovingly smiles at her, and about Mary, she smiled back at her husband.

"My boy, can we now proceed to enter the Forest of Lloyd?" Yusoph asked his son.

"Yet… Amezing… Papa!" his son's reply

"What about the two of you women?" he turned his head at where his wife and the Priestess had been standing as of the moment and he asked this question.

"Of course, we can already proceed, my love." Mary's sweet response to her husband.

"Perfect!" Yusoph said and an immediate fire had started to spark at the iris of his eye.

Mary quickly folded the cloth that Rubick had used as a cover for the surface when he was sleeping and she puts it back in the basket that she had been carrying starting from the time they evacuated from the Za'astaroz Village.

Mary stands up from the ground and she directly went beside her son. She saw her son who had been quite excited at this moment, especially about entering the woods of the Forest of Lloyd.

Mary held the left hand of her son and she said "Let's go, Rubick?"

The party finally departed at the outskirt of the Forest and they started to enter into the unknown.
