Participant in wpc 280, vote for me. "You see there is a difference between love and loyalty, people who love you will hurt you to protect you for themselves but people who are loyal to you will hurt themselves to protect for you." "Then I guess I love you." These were the last words Drew Young heard from his friend as he died holding him in his arms. Life is not easy and Drew has always known that, ever since he was young he grew up on the dangerous streets of South Africa. A hustler who did whatever he could to survive. Whether that meant robbing people, murder and kidnapping politicians. But what happens when you are betrayed by the person you trust and end up in prison. Of course you break out, seek revenge and get gunned down by the police and wake up in the body of newborn child in the middle of a dark gloomy place.

New Beginnings( part 5)

Drew looked up to see old man Milla standing on top of him with his hand raised from the punch he had just thrown.

Old man Milla lowered his hand. Drew could see the expression on his face. It was that of anger and enimity.

"Such reckless driving and he dares to blame it on other people!"

CRASH!

Drew's attention was called back by the driver who flew out of the carriage and landed on his ass, skidding on the floor before crashing into a stall. Drew noticed a footprint on his face and sighed while grabbing his head and shaking it.

The door to the carriage swung open and a man wearing a dress came out of it. He danced elegantly down the stairs and moved around like a ballerina.

His body was tall, skinny and lean. In fact no one would know he was a man had it not been for the cute moustache on his face. He twirled in the air swinging his hair before finally coming to a stop before old man Milla.

He looked at old man Milla before making a disgusted face. "Ugh..." The man stopped himself from gagging before he took another look at old man Milla. "Ughhh.... I can't do this!"

The man hurriedly walked back into the carriage leaving old man Milla, Drew and all the bystanders to wear a confused face.

"OHHHH.... MY CABBAGES!" A voice shouted. Drew turned and stared at the stalls the carriage had destroyed to see a man holding some cabbage leaves to his face.

"No, someone's taking the piss." Drew muttered under his breath.

A foot stepped out of the carriage but Old man Milla and Drew did not see who it was as they had just moved along.

The wand was quite an improvement for Drew. Drew had been teaching himself how to attack using magic while conserving mana but he had still been wasting a huge amount and his magic power was not strong enough.

But now the wand conducted his mana like metal with electricity but only the needed amount and would increase his magic power.

Drew was capable of moving 1000g of metal with ease but the wand had increased his magic power by three fold so now he was capable of handling 3000g with ease.

Drew floated in the air. He had constructed metal sheet which he was making float. It was a great mental and physical exercise as he was doing it without a wand. The metal sheet slowly lowered to the ground occasionally rising 2cm before going back down.

"I should raise my level to reach level three. I wonder what my class benefits are going to be. Trickster... is there going to be a boost in my intelligence stat? will I gain a high charisma skill? Will I receive a smooth talking skill? I wonder..." Drew felt the metal sheet touch the ground and took a long deep breath as it was exhausting.

Drew rested for a while before sitting up. He could see a rabbit grazing on some grass. "I wonder... do I level up through hunting like all typical system light novels? I'll kill those rabbits to see if I can level up, even if I don't, I'll have caught dinner."

Drew ripped of a really tiny part of the metal sheet with his fingers. It was the size of a needle. He didn't tear it with his strength but with his precise control of metal.

The needle floated in front in front of him at eye level and just as he was about to let it rip his vision was blocked by the screen.

-Tip: the stronger your first opponent, the more your first time kill bonus will be. Act wisely.

Drew read the information on the screen before letting go of the needle which landed on the palm of his hand.

He had got confirmation that he could level up through hunting and if he would receive a bonus from his first kill then he would make sure to take use of this information.

"Your one lucky guys Wabbit, I'll tell you that."

Drew was hiding in a tree in the forest. The forest really was not that dangerous apart from the bears, gorrila's and tiger's, it had a pretty normal and tame wildlife compared to what Drew was expecting a forest in a fantasy world to have.

The first time Drew had explored the forest was without anyone's knowledge. Old man Milla had been looking for him everywhere and when he came back he only described the forest with one word.

"Basic."

Although he wanted to see some kind of creature that existed in a fantasy world Drew could only admire the creatures. Bears were by no means nothing to be scoffed at. With a bite force of nearly 1,000 psi and strength to knock a person's head clean of they were beauties of nature.

Back in his world he had quite the interest in animal. He even had dreams of being a zoologist as a child after watching deadly sixty but later gave up on it once the cruel reality of the world kicked in.

Drew lowered his breathing rate only breathing once every ten seconds. His mana was already pulled back from the surrounding and his ability

(mana concealment) was in effect.

He had been waiting for fifteen minutes when finally a bear walked below the tree. Drew was fascinated and wanted to take a closer look at the magnificent beast but he knew better.

The bear stopped in it's tracks and looked down at the floor. It scratched the floor only for the sound of metal to be heard. It sniffed it for quite a while but could not find a scent to follow.

Drew had taken this into account and had used berries and leaves to cover his scent. (Mana concealment) only worked on mana but that did not mean that creatures did not have other senses such as sight, hearing and their sense of smell. Drew had taken all of this into account as he had experience hunting before, just not animals.

The bear raised it's snout and sniffed the air and Drew took advantage of that. While it was still not paying any attention to the floor, he pointed his wand to the metal sheet and spikes quickly rose from the ground.

It was fast and precise, snuffing the creatures life quickly with no pain or suffering.

"Wow!" Drew said as he looked at his wand in amazement. He had been expecting some kind of resistance and not an immediate kill which was why he had placed several metal sheets around the floor of the forest and covered them in grass. He had also let some slightly out of the grass so that they could be seen by the bear so it would not step on it and try to dodge it by jumping elsewhere where he had put the metal sheets on the floor.

Seems like I didn't need all that, but still though prevention is better than cure. After all a wise man once said 'When shit can go wrong, it always will see,"
