Ethan looked at Helena with a heavy burden on his heart. "Helena, I just want you to be happy and live a normal life."
"Nonsense," Helena said. "It's probably you who wouldn't be able to handle living like that, right? You want a divorce and to relinquish your responsibilities as a husband so you can indulge with other women without feeling guilty."
Helena bit her inner cheek, causing her cheeks to become hollow. Sadness was clearly reflected in her eyes.
"If that's your reason, I won't stop you from getting a divorce," Helena said again. "But don't use me as an excuse."
Helena and Ethan stared at each other, challenging each other to argue their points.
"I... I've seen you grow up without your parents, feeling like you've missed out on something," Ethan said again. "Are you going to live a life without a husband and possibly without children?"
"I will decide how I want to live. I am the only one who knows what can make me happy."
