"Don't be foolish, Ethan! Why should I choose between you and my success?" Diana said, brushing Ethan's hand off her shoulder. "Remember, I married you because it was a condition set by my grandfather. You are part of my path to success!"
Helena's green eyes stared at Ethan with anger. She couldn't understand why Ethan was behaving like a male lead from a romance novel.
"This is real life, Ethan! Don't be overly dramatic about it," Helena said again, her hand cupping Ethan's cheek.
Ethan swallowed heavily. Helena's hand, which was usually warm, now felt cold against his skin. He looked at Helena with a wounded gaze.
"I know," he nodded. "You're right. I have been too dramatic. From the beginning, you only wanted my seed so that you could have a child. If only in this day and age people could have children through in vitro fertilization, I'm sure you would have never chosen me and brought me to your house."
