The king felt frustrated with Ethan and Lord Gabriel's behavior. How dare they refuse his request!

"Do they want to keep all the profits from this project to themselves?" he exclaimed angrily. "I knew it, I dislike that man … Ethan? He is so arrogant, just like his wife."

In reality, the king did not like any talented individuals who did not obey him. Prince Lucas and Prince Maximilian were well aware of that. They simply faced the king's anger without commenting.

Prince Maximilian knew that his father was using his authority to seek substantial profits. "Father, I think they just dislike the high costs you imposed. Expenses like these will undoubtedly increase travel prices," Prince Maximilian, as usual, sided with what he believed was right. At least, that's what was mentioned in the proposal.
