What were you to do if, one day, you are not only invited to work in a new find supernatural city to investigate paranormal crimes, but gets hit on by the velvet wearing Vampire Lord of the city every chance he gets?! I was happy of finding good use for my knowledge over the supernatural beyond my books and blogs, and if there is a place a shy nerd for mystical creatures like myself can fit in, that would be one of the Foggy Cities that popped into existence all around the world, especially the gothic full of vampire one, the New Stormhold. Only that… it seems that my own past hold secrets from me, and that perhaps that smirking overconfident Vampire Lord has more to do with it than someone I should not have never known has. The only problem is, am I willing to pay the price for finding out? Because it may have been already too late the moment I stepped inside this city. The beyond natural, the strangeness of what lays beyond the veil, the immaterial, the ever looming presence, impalpable, yet present nonetheless.
The one that keeps humans awake at night, and yet lures them to the darkest corners of the earth.
The one to bring forth the wildest part of human nature.
The one to make them question their own sanity… to question life and death, to question it all, to never have the certainty of an answer.
Until now.
Until the veil slips open for all to see, until, out of nowhere, thick fogs appeared all around the world and, within them, the Foggy Cities that were once concealed by it suddenly appear.
Mystical cities, filled with supernatural beings.
Cities at the size of nations spread out of nowhere, urging changes on mapping from the entire earth, making so that scientists had to recalculate the size of the earth, but lost credibility the more they did not know, the more they questioned without explaining, skeptical until the end as they could not accept and yet couldn't deny either the creatures that appear more and more before their eyes.
But of course not everything was settled easily, as some were unfavorable, but some were the complete opposite, open minded, excited, and eager for the unknown, to glimpse beyond the veil of obscurity, to embrace the new kind.
The cities, almost as if having a mind of their own, did not allow any harm to come to them, and those who took at arms and marched at its gates were met with an endless maze inside the never-ending fog.
But those who came in search for something more… enticing, something more… primal, were welcomed with open arms to be embraced by pale residences of the always cloudy towns, the Foggy Cities.
What of you then…? Will you be one of the skeptical beings that will be denied passaged beyond the fog…? Or will you enter to pull the veil further down?
Will you close your eyes to the unknown?
Or will you stare the void in the eye?
Will you domain your wildest desire… or will you be consumed by what lays within?
For the supernatural has finally come to light… and they are hungry for attention as they can finally scream.
