The Tale Of That One Guy That Got Reincarnated Into Naruto

With every door that shuts, another one opens.

This was the case of a peculiar soul.

The boy opened his eyes lazily, and then they widened.

The room, or space if you could call it that, was pitch black. It was as if he could not see anything, yet he could.

Then, his reaction came.

"What the hell?" he asked, looking around, "Where am I?"

'This is annoying,' He thought, 'I don't have time for this,'

He walked forward, though his vision stayed the same.

As he opened his mouth to speak to himself, he was interrupted.

"Ah, so there has been a miscalculation," A voice boomed in almost every direction.

The boy stopped and looked around, trying to find the source of the voice. It sounded male yet female, so he was not sure what he was looking for.

"I do not have a physical form, little one," The voice spoke again, "My power has reached far beyond that,"

"Wait, then you must be a god, right?" The Boy asked, "Holy hell! I never thought there would be one,"

"Well, I wouldn't name myself such a high honour," It spoke again, "Though, a supreme being fits my rank,"

"Wow," The boy said, "Hold on... If I'm talking to you, then where am I?"

"In the process of going to the afterlife," It answered.

The boy frowned, "So, I'm...dead?"

"Mhm," The voice answered, "I wanted to ask. How does it feel?"

The boy knew how it felt.

His mother. His father. His brother. His sister. His pets. His friends...

All gone.

He knew how he felt.

Nothing.

Yes, the boy was sad and grieving about dying, yet, he was so confused about how he felt nothing.

"Why do I feel nothing?" He asked, "Why don't I miss them?"

The voice chuckled, "I suppose you never cared, and never will,"

"Oh," The boy spoke, "I hate to say it, but you're right,"

"Sadly, that is the case," It spoke, "It appeared you moved on,"

"Ugh," The boy sighed, "How did I die?"

"As I said, it was an accident," The voice explained, "you see, you were at the wrong place at the wrong time,"

"I was sleeping in my bed. How was that the wrong time?"

"The 'slingshot'" It answered, getting a confused look from the boy.

"The slingshot?" he asked, "What's that?"

"An occurrence that happens randomly," It answered, "the 'slingshot' is a ball-like projectile flying at a ludicrous speed in this reality, and when it transpires, it shoots itself through the earth, without destroying it. It in fact fazes through the earth.

"How did it kill me then?"

"That was another extremely rare event," The voice continued, "when the 'slingshot' blasts through the earth, it has a chance to obliterate a life form into the past tense,"

'Past tense?' The boy thought, "That means it got me then?"

"Correct," It answered, "What is left of you will be found by your family in due time,"

"Oh, damn," He said.

"Now since that is out of the way," The voice spoke energetically, "You're wondering why you are here?"

The boy nodded.

"Because of this mistake, and the fact that you were robbed of a life," It explained, "you'll get a second chance through reincarnation,"

"Interesting,"

"It is," The voice continued, "and the place of your new life will occur in Naruto,"

"Wait, Naruto?" The boy stood in shock, "My coincidentally favourite anime?"

"That's right," It answered, "but here's the catch,"

'Even if the Naruto world is dangerous," The boy thought, 'If I get thrown into a clan, a lot of my fears should be thrown out the window,'

"You'll be born in the Warring States era..." It spoke.

A nodd came from the boy, 'Will be pretty chaotic, but my point still stands,'

"...but not from a clan," this made the boy shudder.

'How will I survive then? I'm pretty much screwed,' He thought, but the voice spoke again,

"However, because I wish to see you prosper, let me ask you a question." It said, "Have you ever used a System?"

The boys tried to think, but the question was weird.

"Let me rephrase my wording." It spoke, "Have you used a cheat before?"

"In games, I have, if that's what you mean?"

"I see, well, a system works the same way, as in it will hand you abilities from the world to help you become an asset," The voice explained.

The boy nodded, "Is that why you are sending me to this world?"

"I did say you missed an opportunity to live a life," It answered, "but you'll need the System if you don't want to die,"

"That makes sense," The boy said, "I am going to be reincarnated during a bloody period,"

"But I am lying if I said I was not curious,"

"Curious for what?" The boy asked.

"Curious to see how the world would go if you existed," The voice answered, "that being said, do whatever you want,"

"What do you mean by that?"

"I do not care if you change anything from the original work, it is an alternate universe after all," It explained, "You could be well known and be a saviour to every clan or you destroy every clan and revel in your carnage. It all comes down to you,"

"Alright," The boy said, "What did you mean by alternate universe?"

"There may be a few things that may be changed, but it will ruin the fun if I tell you," The voice answered.

"That's it," It said, "any more questions? Once you go down there, we may not talk again for a long time,"

"Hmm," The boy mumbled, "The System you were talking about, how does it work?"

"I would love to explain it to you, but that will ruin the fun," The voice answered.

"That should be it," The boy said, breathing in, "I'm ready,"

"I wish you well on your travels," It said, "This will only take a moment,"

An itchy sensation then swept over the boy's body. His eyes began to close on their own.

His thoughts were of his family before he fell into unconsciousness.
