"Everyone here were outstanding martial artists when they were alive. These mighty men have been training her for thousands of years, in hopes of Grand Kai-sama might train them." King Kai said.
"Except this Grand Kai wasn't that strong... He found excuses not to train Pikkon and Goku because they had already surpassed him... Too bad these guys will never find out about it." Kalan thought.
While they were talking, Kalan seemed to be hearing some people singing from afar.
"North... Died..."
"North Kai... Died."
"North Kai has died!"
"North Kai has died!"
From afar, Kalan saw 3 Kais including South Kai holding hands and skipping happily while shouting "North Kai has died!"
"What a happy occasion!" West Kai shouted. He was very short, only slightly taller than Kalan's knees. East Kai was a woman and the only Kai whose hair could be seen.
"It's not a happy occasion!" King Kai shouted angrily.
"Besides, who died!?!?" King Kai shouted angrily and pointed above his head.
"Eh? There's no halo!" East Kai shouted.
"South Kai, you liar!" West Kai looked embarrassed and stared angrily at South Kai.
"What? Impossible! I clearly saw him with a halo before!" South Kai argued.
"Shut up! Don't think we're idiots!" East and West Kai stared daggers at South Kai. Both feeling embarrassed after skipping around happily and singing.
"Eh? Why does that guy not have a halo?" Suddenly South Kai noticed Kalan's halo had also disappeared.
"North Kai how can you bring a mortal to Grand Kai's Planet?! Don't you know how rude that is!?" West Kai berated King Kai.
"I'm friends with Fortune Teller Baba." Kalan said. He was worried he might get kicked out of the planet if he did not have a good reason to stay. Kalan hoped saying Fortune Teller Baba's name would scare the Kais. Since he knew from the stories that Fortune Teller Baba did not even show respect to Grand Kai and didn't even get berated nor punished for it. He believed she had quite a high status in the Other World to be able to do that.
"Y-You're from Earth?!" The West, East and South Kai looked shocked at Kalan.
"Hohoho. That's right, Kalan is indeed from Earth." King Kai put hands behind his back and strutted arrogantly.
After that, the Kais no longer said a word of disagreement about Kalan staying on Grand Kai's Planet.
"Not bad Fortune Teller Baba's status seems quite high." Kalan thought with satisfaction.
Having no reason to continue quibble about Kalan, the Kais started blaming South Kai for his 'lies'. King Kai would naturally not kindly help him out and tell them the truth. South Kai looked quite miserable but still confused. It seems he had never thought of anyone using telekinesis on a fake halo. How many people would be so mischievous and come up with these stupid antics?
"Calm down, everyone! Calm down! Never mind that, it's been 300 years since all four of us gathered together." West Kai stopped the group from continuing to blame South Kai.
"How about we hold a martial arts tournament between the four galaxies?" West Kai, the short little guy suggested.
The four Kais were all seeing each others in rivalry, so they naturally were very competitive. West Kai's suggestion was quickly accepted and the suggestion was brought to Grand Kai.
The Grand Kai liked the idea of a martial arts tournament. He even offered to give personal lessons to the winner. All the surrounding fighters cheered excitedly. Why were they training on Grand Kai's Planet? It was exactly to receive Grand Kai's teachings!
East Kai complained about a living being participating in the tournament, clearly pointing at Kalan. But the Grand Kai was quite lax and didn't mind. But East Kai continued being stubborn and wanted to race Kalan in space to see if he was qualified to participate in the tournament.
Kalan didn't mind and accepted the race. East Kai sat on her motor scooter looking vehicle. Kalan didn't care since he was going to cheat. He flew so fast his body was imperceptible and then he locked onto the goal with his telepathy and teleported.
"Ah? That was quick!" Grand Kai sat on top of the goal gate.
"Eh? When did he appear? Did he also teleport...?" Kalan thought, he hadn't noticed Grand Kai disappear from the start line, neither did he notice his Ki. So Kalan suspected him to have also teleported over.
"Pretty skilled aren't you, boy?" Grand Kai praised.
After awhile, East Kai reached the goal on her motor scooter.
"Impossible! How could you be so quick!?" East Kai refused to believe Kalan won.
"It doesn't matter, because I'm the winner!" Grand Kai said and put the gold medal on his mustache.
"Ah? Grand Kai-sama! But you never said you were participating..." East Kai finally noticed Grand Kai.
"I never said I wouldn't participate. Hohohoho!" Grand Kai laughed.
"Kalan-chan is very skilled, I approve of his participation in the tournament." Grand Kai said nonchalantly and left.
"He's as weird as in the story..." Kalan thought and returned to the others.
The tournament began, the stadium was filled to the brim and everyone was super excited and cheered endlessly from their seats.
Only four entrants from each galaxy was allowed to participate. Originally, King Kai was hesitating in letting Kalan take one position, but after learning he had mastered 25x Kaio-ken as well as Super Saiyan. He happily agreed to Kalan's participation.
Kalan knew from Goku in the stories that there were cooks here and asked the cooks to cook for him. No one questioned his reason as he was alive unlike what Goku had been. But once he started pilling up a mountain of plate and bowls. The people around him looked at him as if he was a monster.
"So embarrassing..." King Kai mumbled with a flushed face.
The announcer for the tournament was a mushroom man. There were also several vegetable men that were tournament staffs. They looked very comical to Kalan.
The mushroom announcer explained the rules. Four entrants from each galaxy would participate. The participant loses if: They fall out of the stage, cries, or gives up. Dirty attacks like attacking the eyes or crotch were forbidden and they would be disqualified. He also mentioned that since it was in the Other World, the participants did not need to worry about dying since they were already dead.
"What about me... And what's with the crying..." Kalan felt speechless.
