"Can't you just give me the headphones tomorrow at college" I just came home tired from there I was not going outside again, and that too just for the earphones. Plus my house is a mess right now so let's not call her over shall we. "But tomorrow's Saturday, we don't have college." Oh right.... I guess my answer depended upon whether I could live without songs for two days. "Yeah just send me your address; I'll come in a while to pick them up."
Two minutes after I ended the call, I checked to see if there were any notifications as I heard my phone vibrate. It was Isabella's message; she had sent a GPS link for her location. "Hmm..15 minutes if I walk, that's not far I guess." After sending a message that I'll reach there in 30 minutes, I gathered the strength to go to my closet. What to wear, what to wear... something that is comfortable and alluring to the eyes. Okay I don't have anything like that. Does a black hoodie with red stripes on the sleeves work? Ehh it's too hot for a hoodie. Why am I even getting worked up on what to wear, anything casual should work. NO. This will officially be the first time we meet, first impressions are key. Key...to what....Exactly? Anyways Time is of the essence, I can't afford to waste it on thinking about useless things.
I pulled the hanger out of the cupboard and unhooked my wrist watch. Placing it on my study table I pushed open the bathroom's door. After taking my uniform off and hanging them on the hooks of the back of the door, I opened the hot tab of the shower. The water let loose from the spray of the shower head invades my hair as they drop on my eyes like a fish being pulled by a river's current. My body feels a shiver as the water makes it way towards my nape, the temperature was perfect, not too cold, not too hot, just enough to make me feel as if I was standing under a waterfall in Eden.
Finally closing the hot tab I grabbed the towel from one of those hooks on the back of the door and dried the vapors off my body. My hair puffed like an eagle's nest as I shrugged them dry with the towel and wrapped it around my body. "Oh Xain you are back, how was college?" Shifting my eyes to the door of my room revealed my big brother, holding a bag and from it's odore I could have guessed it was Chow mein. "The usual." I replied...although honestly the answer was quite the opposite, but let's not make our brother worry shall we. "Alright change your clothes and then we'll eat this together, quickly before it gets cold"
Should I tell him I have to go meet someone so I can't eat with him right now. That chow mein smells freshly cooked. I don't want to miss this opportunity, but I'll be late if I am stuck here I can't risk it. "Mark you start without me, I need to go meet a friend." Mark's eyes expanded to their utmost limit as he came up to me out of curiosity, "Wait what, my little brother Xain is going to meet a friend? A friend!?" Ok is it impossible for me to have a friend now? I am not that introverted right? Pfft- wait can I even call Isabella a friend, I just met her.......okay well I understand why my brother is surprised.
"I just need to pick my headphones they borrowed from me; I'll be right back in a few." Mark lifts his eyebrow up and chuckles as I pushed him out of the room; I really don't have time to entertain his curiosity. After changing into my grey full sleeves shirt and pitch black slim fit slacks I head on over to the study table to pick up my wrist watch. "There's still 13 minutes left, I should be able to just barely make it, no thanks to Mark." I folded my sleeves up and hooked my wrist watch on, gave my hair a little shrug as I let them fall on my face, and closed the door of my room as I went to put my black shoes on.
"Oi, don't go empty handed at least, take the chowmein with you, you can eat it with your friend." Just as I was about to leave.... "Mark I am not going for a picnic and you won't have anything to eat then, leave it." Mark boldly walks towards me carrying the chow mein in the bag. "Just having a talk and eating together won't kill you okay? And excuse me are you really worrying about your big brother? I'll order French fries for myself, now go and take this with you, no questions." I head out to Isabella's place as Mark hand's me the bag. Disagreeing with him would just take more time which I don't have at the moment.
"The place should be somewhere around here hmmm." On my right there were 3 huge penthouses, while on my left there was a whole line of grocery stores and restaurants crowded by people. The person who lives here sure is lucky, everything is available to them at a walking distance, meanwhile I am stuck having to cycle a long way. There was a beautiful water fountain in front of me, by the looks of it; there was a couple standing there. I decided to call Isabella, I couldn't spot her anywhere in the area.'Trinng.....tringg... pop!' She picks up the call but... at the same time, the girl at the fountain seems to be getting a call too. What's this...she received it at the same time Isabella responded to my call. I can never forget the sight of those crimson red eyes and long pitch black hair, it's Isabella. But what is she doing with a guy there, should I just go up to her, is it appropriate for me to go and interrupt them?
As soon as the call connects I could hear the guy's voice in the background asking Isabella for who was on the call. "oh it's just my college friend Sasha. Hey Sasha, I'll call you back in a while I am a bit busy right now." Pop! The call ends. Sasha......? Hmm so she doesn't want that guy to know about me? But if they were planning on meeting already why did Isabella call me here at the same time? Should I go now or....was there more meaning to Isabella's intent?
