Ring

I woke up to Marcus standing above me in his underwear, his hair messy and his eyes bloodshot.

"Wake up asshole, you got school and you snore like a bear."

I pushed myself up, noticing that I was on the floor, the bed a few feet away.

"Yeah you literally fell off the bed."

Marcus rolled his eyes and closed the door behind him as he left.

I looked around the neatly kept room, my uniform folded perfectly on one of the dressers. I grimaced, I completely forgot to ask if I could wash my uniform, it being soaked the day before.

I inched over and placed a hand on the black fabric, a slight warmth coming from the cloth. I smiled, it was just freshly dried, damn you Marcus.

It was like I could never be to mad or sad around this guy, it low key sucked I was going to school away from him. He was still my best friend after all.

I opened the door, the apartment empty, most likely he already left. I made sure to lock the door as I stepped onto the stair case. I had a view of the parking lot and a few surrounding apartment buildings, everything still slightly wet. I glanced toward the sky, grey clouds still fighting hard to block the sun out. At least it wasn't raining.

My eyes sharpened as my feet hit the bottom step. I have to fix things, just the biggest issue was how. How do I make Fey trust me? How do I become student council President?

So many damn questions that would need to be answered.

How do I lose my virginity?

I ignored the last question in my head and started my walk toward Grand Dobi.

----

Step after step, I found myself at the open golden gates, kids standing about waiting for the bell to ring. I surveyed to see if any of my sisters were around.

I never saw any set of those blue eyes.

"Hey."

I sighed and threw a look to my left, Sam Garrison standing with his hands in his pockets.

"What happened to never talking to me again?"

The tan boy's face went red, "I still plan on doing that, I just have to ask why the hell you are running for president, do you want to die?"

I shrugged and pointed at him, "I'm already marked, might as well make things ten times worse, more interesting anyways."

We both stood shoulder to shoulder, our eyes watching as rich kids were conversing next to the huge double doors leading inside.

Sam kicked the dirt, "I want to help you win..."

I looked at him, the short boy keeping his eyes on the doors, "I want to prove us commoners are not fodder."

I smiled, "Good, I have to start coming up with a plan to advertise, think you can help?"

Sam scratched the back of his neck, "I can try."

I patted him on the back, "Trying is good enough, at the moment I need to get my mind off some stuff."

The bell rang and before I knew it, I was sitting in a familiar spot, Mrs. Applebottom writing away on the smart board.

I could not help but stare at the mountain which rose into the sky, the greenery all but dead as winter was slowly creeping. I guess for September this was vastly different.

The door slowly slid open, Shi walking in.

I already readied myself as I saw him slowly walk to the front of the class, "I would like to apologize for causing such a ruckus yesterday, it will not happen again."

He bowed, his stance almost like a samurai apologizing to his master.

Shi quickly tried to exit but before he did, he turned toward me, "Also Warren, you are needed in Mr. Tolkien's office."

Everyone turned to me, a weak smile still painted on my face.

I followed Shi out into the hallway, "What's going on?"

Shi sighed, "Do you not know, the free hour is starting today?"

Free hour?!

Shi stopped me from speaking, "It's were the candidates who are running are given an assistant to help plan out anything needed. You are still a student so you can't miss classes but your sixth period after lunch is free."

I tapped my chin, "So what about my science class?"

Shi held a finger up, "You get free grades for the three weeks you are running, so enjoy it."

I fist pumped the air, "A free period is always nice."

I walked down the hallway, my mind wondering as we did.

Arid, Fey, Autumn, and Olivia flooded in to my focus, their eyes no longer stagnant. I looked down and my shoulders slouched.

I just left.

It was like what I was doing now was fake. Coming to school and acting as if nothing happened. Was this what Fey meant? The fact even after some one did something like that to Olivia, they still kept moving forward as nothing happened.

What was more important, striving to just ignore it and let them settle it on their own terms or...

RIIING RIIING RIIING

I grabbed my phone and silenced it, Shi glancing back and shaking his head.

I ignored him and put the phone to my ear,

"Hello."

"Son, Veronica just got an alert from the school."

My entire body went numb.

"None of your sisters went to school, do you know were they went, if so you need to tell me. We called the police a-"

I hung up, my hand going limp.

Shi noticed this, "You know you aren't allowed to have your phone out."

His words never entered my ears, the slight play back of their conversation in the bath.

Fey spoke, "I hate him."

I gripped my phone tightly in my hand, my mind leaving behind anything else.

What have I done?

It was like my feet moved on its own, my arms pumping and my legs extending as I sprinted down hallways and slammed into the doors leading to the courtyard.

Damnit so stupid!

You could of just fixed things, you knew running away would of made things worse.

I didn't know, stop it!

Stop what, realizing that because of my immaturity and lack of will, my sisters might be in danger.

Yes...

Please stop...

My body kept lurching forward as the slight trickle of rain started to fall.

Tap Tap Tap

Please be safe.
