Dr. Glass's Log

Journal entry #2946

Another breach happened today. The Cayos Insurgency has started to become a bigger problem for all sites recently. They made it near SCP-2280 before being neutralized by the foundation. During this, SCP-105 had to be removed from her containment chamber, but her escort was killed in the raid. SCP-105 was found hiding in a hallway, presumably fighting CI before she was located. She allowed herself to be contained by foundation agents afterward. I'm proud of how far SCP-105 has come. About a year or two ago, she had tried to commit suicide using her abilities. Thanks to the Site 17 medical team, they managed to save her life. Afterward, she requested to start visiting the Site 17 counselor. Her request was granted, and she has even been given Lv 3 access again after a while.

She is even allowed to interact with a limited amount of the other SCPs in Site 17. She usually hangs out with SCP-073, also known as Cain. They seem to have bonded into good friends. I am a bit concerned about it though. It might pose a problem in the future. I wonder if I should report it to 05. I'll keep it to myself for now. I'll report it if it becomes more of a problem. But something about Iris- SCP-105, seems to have changed. Anyway, it doesn't seem anything too important right now. Maybe I'll talk to Jack about it. I heard he's coming for a visit in a few weeks.

End of Log.

Concrete prison walls encased the hallway. Prisoners sat in their cells. Some seemed depressed, some outraged. Some didn't seem to feel at all.

The door at the front of the hallway opened, brightening the place a smidge. Two figures entered. One was a guard of the prison. The other was a peculiar-looking man in a lab coat. His hair was black and messy, with a white streak running through it. Most of the prisoners looked up at the sudden entry. They walked past cell after cell, ignoring the insults and rude gestures that the surrounding audience made.

They finally stopped at one cell. It was dimly lit, with the small silhouette of a person hunched over on the bed. It was a girl with blond hair and stunning blue eyes. Her face held a defeated expression in its grasp. She didn't even bother looking up at the two guards as they approached her.

"Now remember," The guard whispered, "If she gives you any trouble, just call us in, Doctor Conwell."

"Thank you, officer," The man nodded, his gaze locked on the figure.

The guard banged on the bars, "Iris Thompson." The figure looked up as he continued to speak, "You seem to have a visitor. His name is Dr. Conwell. You'll cooperate or you'll be stuck here longer." Iris stood as the guard unlocked the door. He let Dr. Conwell walk in, "Alright, she's all yours Doc."

"Thank you, sir," Conwell waved to him as he closed the door and walked off. He turned to Iris. Her eyes narrowed as the doctor began talking.

"So you're Iris Thompson, right?" He pointed at her.

She folded her arms, "That depends. What do you want?"

Doctor Conwell cracked a smile, "I'm here to help you. Trust me."

She rolled her eyes, "All the other phycologists said the same thing."

"Well then, let's change it up a bit then. I would like to hear your side of the story if you wouldn't mind."

Iris was taken aback for a moment, "Ok, but it's not like it changed."

Conwell nodded, "Ok, please start."

"I was in my kitchen making myself some dinner," She started, ", while I was talking to Jason on the phone. I was excited to see him the next day. We had planned to go to the carnival together. I had a picture of him on my fridge. I touched it and it began to move."

"Like a video?" Conwell asked. When Iris nodded, he wrote something down on his clipboard, "Has this ever happened before in the past?"

"Well, sort of. I have an overreactive imagination, so many of my photos look like they're moving. But this time was different."

"How so?"

"Well, in the photo, I saw Jason talking on the other end of the phone. But in the window was this figure with a creepy mask on. I mentioned it to Jason when the thing broke in and attacked him... And..."

Conwell looked up from his clipboard. Iris had her hands over her mouth, tears streaming down her face. Sympathy flooded into his eyes like a stream, "Did anyone believe your story?"

Iris went silent for a moment, before saying, "Would I be here if anyone did?"

Conwell let a grin grow across his face, "Well, we believe you."

Iris looked up, "Who's WE?"

"I am with a foundation that protects humanity from the paranormal. I was sent to investigate your case, and it seems legit. We have a deal to offer you. You can either come with me and maybe avenge your boyfriend, or you can stay in here as Jason's supposed killer."

Iris gave Conwell a suspicious look, "I don't know, it's kind of hard to trust someone I just met 30 seconds ago, let alone someone with a skunk for a hairstyle."

"Well, it's not like you have any better options," Conwell spoke.

Iris paused, before taking a deep breath.

"Ok. I'm in."
