A mechanical voice sounded in his head as he sat up from his bed, his body felt a bit heavy, and noticed that his face was covered with something and there was still a dull ache at the back of his skull.

Feeling disoriented and confused he looked around finding himself in a small room with a bed in the middle on which he was currently sitting and a window covered by curtains from whose drapes moonlight spilled into the room.

He slowly got up feeling a bit wobbly and moved towards the window and saw a mountain wall with three faces carved on it and stood stunned for a minute.

"Where am I?" he murmured and said "status"

A transparent blue screen popped up in front of him, but what surprised him was that he cannot see the reflection of that on the glass of the window, instead there was a kid about the age of five with bright red hair and jet black eyes and cute face half of which was covered in bandages but, he had a feeling that he should be older than this., after calming himself down he read the information on the screen

As he saw the information, he tried to remember why he was where he was, but all that came to his mind was nothing, he had a vague feeling that he had something that did not belong in this world.

As he was trying to sort out his thoughts, he noticed that there were three huge human faces carved on the mountain wall with fourth one under construction, he marvelled at the huge constructs wondering who they were as he peered into the village in darkness he didn't notice that his thought process and emotions were way too calm and mature for the situation he was in.

'Ding! Welcome to the system interface, the host is provided with a starter pack as a gift for successful integration'.

A blue gift symbol started flashing in front of him and his mind was also filled with knowledge about a strange energy called chakra.

He realised that he was unique as the thing called system did not seem to be present in this world, but his mind strangely accepted it and he was able to use and understand the system with ease as if it were a part of him.

As he concentrated on the symbol, it enlarged in his field of vision and three cards were presented in front of him.

Cards seemed plain, but he was able to feel some sort of ancient aura from them, the cards were face down but as soon as he 'touched' the rightmost one it crumbled to pieces and a new notification appeared on his screen.

'Ding! Skill card obtained

As the notification was heard he saw a small blue dot on the left corner of his vision and instinctively knew it was his position.

Now understanding what the cards were he felt curious and a little excited and touched the second card, like the first one, it too crumbled and new notification popped up.

'Ding! Attribute card obtained'

As soon as the message appeared, he felt a cool energy flowing through his body.

He felt that he could move a lot faster now and also as if flexibility has increased a bit, when he was about to touch the last card, the door to the room opened and turning around he saw a woman wearing blue overcoat which came down to her knees and black pants came inside the room and showed a surprised expression on her face which quickly changed into a kind one. The woman had light brown hair and with emerald eyes and a pleasant face with round glasses around her eyes.

As he looked at her, he suddenly felt a blue aura cover her body which was quite dim and he felt a little bit of warmth and firmness from it, and he realised that he was sensing her chakra from his 'knowledge', he once again heard a notification.

'Ding! Compatibility between skills mapping (lvl 1) and chakra perception detected, merging skills..., merging completed, mapping has been upgraded to lv3 and new function enemy detection has been added.'

The blue dot at the corner of his vision shrunk and three more were added one in the opposite which was green in colour and two white ones on either side.

'It seems that the range has been increased' he thought

"Hey little guy, you're awake", said the woman looking at him.

" do you know where you are?" she asked, kindly staring at his face.

"No," said Aiko, shaking his head, "I don't remember anything" he added after thinking a bit.

"Oh" sighed the woman as if expecting this, but she was also surprised looking at his calm face.

"This is an orphanage located in konoha, you were rescued by ninjas who were on a mission to eliminate bandits and were brought here because of your injuries, do you remember anything about yourself or where you are from?" she asked.

Hearing he was in an orphanage, a bitter feeling emerged in his heart, but before he could focus on it, it faded quickly, leaving him a bit confused.

"My name is Aiko, other than that I don't remember anything" he said as it was the truth and from the 'knowledge' in his head, he knew the system was unique to him and decided to keep it a secret.

The woman nodded her head as if expecting it as the boy was severely injured in the head when he was brought in.

"Don't worry we will figure everything out, you must be hungry come with me" she said as a kind smile returned to her face and walked towards the door.

Aiko seeing this nodded his head and followed behind her obediently.

'What a cute and obedient child' she thought as her smile got warmer, 'I hope there won't be any problems tomorrow' she added in her mind as a small frown formed on her face while she led him out of the room.

As a kunoichi, who had lost her family to the wars of the ninja world, she stayed here and decided to take care of unfortunate souls like herself, but she also knew that not everybody would be allowed to enter and live in a hidden ninja village.

Aiko followed behind her and went to the ground floor where there was a common dining room and drank a cup of gruel and headed back to his room to settle in for the night.

Once he was left alone, he opened the status again and touched the last card.

'Ding! Boost card obtained

Seeing that the last one was a boost card, he felt a little happy as it gave a stamina boost of 30, but seeing the requirement he thought that he should increase his level as soon as possible.

Lying on his bed, Aiko began to feel sleepy and soon entered a dreamless slumber spending his first night in this strange but familiar world.
