10 The third date

Sona was looking at herself in the mirror, she was wearing simple blue jeans and a white blouse, she wasn't feeling as nervous about her date as Rias and Akeno were, she didn't think of the date as a big deal, all she saw it as was payment for the favour the Vergil was going to do for Rias because unlike Rias and Akeno even though she found Vergil attractive she hadn't developed any type of romantic feelings for him.

For her strength and looks wasn't what she wanted in a life partner, she wanted someone smarter than her or at least at a minimum someone who was her intellectual equal and while she could admit to herself she was attracted to Vergil she didn't feel like he had the intellectual prowess that she looked for in a partner. Sona looked at her phone and saw the one read 11:58 am, Vergil had told her he would pick her up from her home at 12.

As soon as it turned 12 Sona heard the sound of a car engine outside her home, she opened the front door and saw Vergil looking at her and smiling while standing in front of an all black Chevrolet Camaro, he was wearing black dress pants, a white shirt with the top buttons undone and a black unbuttoned blazer. Sona had a small blush that she quickly suppressed, "What's with the formal look?" Vergil smiled and didn't respond he opened the car door and motioned for Sona to get in, Sona complied after rolling her eyes Vergil was the one person she could never get a straight answer from.

After Sona got in Vergil closed the door and sat in the drivers seat he started the car and drove off driving just under the speed limit, "Well are you going to tell me where were going for this 'date'" Sona said the last part while using her fingers to emphasise air quotes she still didn't feel as if this was an actual date and felt like it was just something she was doing to fulfil her part of the deal.

"I must say Sona your looking beautiful today, your outfit is simple but extremely attractive at the same time" As usual Vergil didn't answer the question and instead chose to doge the question, Sona rolled her eyes at this but blushed, apart from her sister and her parents no one really ever calls her beautiful and plus the fact that she is always being compared to Rias in terms of looks Sona was very self conscious and felt slightly inferior to Rias in terms of feminine appeal.

"Y-you don't really really mean that" Sona said with slight sadness in her voice believing that Vergil didn't mean what he said about her looks, "I do mean it, you are one of the most beautiful woman I have ever seen" Vergil said while smiling at her instead of keeping his eyes on the road while driving, usually Sona would reprimand someone for driving so recklessly but Sona was replaying his words in her head while blushing almost the same colour as Rias's hair not even paying attention to the fact that Vergil was now not only driving over the speed limit but also not looking at the road.

Vergil smiled looking at that notification, Sona put up a tough and confident front but on the inside she was insecure and self conscious about her looks, as Vergil parked at their destination he honked the horn and snapped Sona out of her daydreaming, "Wakey wakey princess we have arrived at our destination" Vergil opened the door for Sona as she got out the car and looked at where they had arrived, she was pleasantly surprised to see Vergil brought her to the new natural history museum that had just been built in the town.

"You know it will take more than just taking me to a museum to impress me" Sona said while crossing her arms across her chest with a stern yet small smile on her face, "Well I hope so I wouldn't want it to be too easy now would I otherwise it wouldn't be be fun" Vergil said as he intertwined his fingers with hers and firmly but gently held her hand in his, "Now shall we begin the date" Sona merely nodded shyly unable to muster words, she had to admit the fact that she liked the feeling of Vergil's large yet gentle had around her small one as if it was protecting it.

Sona and Vergil entered their museum and spent 3 hours reading about all the different exhibits shown and having debates about history, Sona was pleasantly surprised that Vergil was actually a lot smarter than he looked, he had a lot of knowledge about a multitude of subjects and Sona actually enjoyed being proven wrong about some things when they gave their opinions on a subject it was a pleasant change of pace.

Time flew by and Sona hadn't realised that they had already gone through the entire museum until they had gotten to the gift shop, "Well how was that Sona I hope that you enjoyed our date" Sona nodded she had to admit she had really enjoyed her date with Vergil and she had to admit she was actually a little upset it was already over, "Well let me drop you off at home it would be very rude of me to let such a beautiful female walk home by herself"

Sona once again blushed, she had to admit she loved being complimented by someone, most girls did and instead of telling her to smile more or do something to make herself more attractive he was giving compliments that sounded genuine.

As Vergil pulled up to Sona's home he looked at her to see her blushing and looking as if she was thinking about something, thanks to Vergil's observation Haki he knew what Sona was about to do and turned his head so when she went to kiss his cheek her lips landed on his, Sona went wide eyed when she saw that she had accidentally kissed Vergil on his lips, Vergil pulled away from the kiss and licked his lips "Your lips taste nice, is that strawberry flavoured lip gloss you use?" Vergil asked only causing Sona's blush to go a darker shade of red as her embarrassment grew.

"I-I- I have to go now" Sona practically sprinted out of Vergil's car into her home trying to run away from her overwhelming embarrassment, "Hmm that lip gloss did taste nice though, maybe I should ask her where she gets it from" Vergil said to himself with a smile on his face as he pulled away from Sona's house.
