Chapter 76

" So, any ideas on how we will report this attack to the underworld? " Asked Sirzechs as he looked at Serafall.

After Shaltier was taken away from the pit they all decided to hold a small meeting in a few minutes. This is so each faction is able to sort out the details they all gathered amongst themselves before reaching a conclusion on how to deal with this situation.

Since the Khaos Brigade openly decided to launch an attack on the three factions their threat level must be evaluated carefully. So each faction decided to first gather all the information they had on this organization and exchange everything with everyone. This way they will be able to prepare for another attack again.

" Arrgg I don't know Sirzechs I don't know. Logically since most of the members of the Old Satan Faction have joined Khaos Brigade we should be able to make a move on them. But…. " Serafall said in frustration.

" But the council will object to the search and protect them since most old satan faction members have connections to the council " Sirzechs finished with a sigh.

Even though the New Satan faction won the Civil War remnants of the Old Satan faction still held their privileges. After all, devils pay more worth to their bloodline and Nobility. Especially after the evil pieces were announced. So unless they have concrete evidence they couldn't arrest anyone. Or else another civil war will happen due to the Old Devils rebelling.

" Could we at least ask Zekram for help? He wouldn't cover for these guys right " Sirzechs suggested.

" I doubt he will help without getting any benefit. Remember he doesn't care about anything unless it involves the Bael clan's influence. " Serafall spat as she said.

Zekram Bael as the leader of the Great King faction can be called the most traditional devil in the whole underworld. As he practically owns the council Serafall doubted he would hand over the Old Satan members. After all, he needs someone to do his dirty work. This is also why it is very hard to arrest any Old Satan faction member as they are protected by the Great King Faction.

" You know this whole mess is going to fall on our side right? " Sirzechs said. Since the most possible lead to the Khaos Brigade is those old satan members the devils would have to take responsibility and interrogate them. Otherwise, they would have been seen as allies of the Khoas Brigade.

" Why don't we let Shadow Garden do the investigation? " Grafia, who was silent all this time, asked suddenly.

Serafall thought about it for a while and disagreed with her, " No that won't be possible. Although the devil council won't be stupid to provoke them, that doesn't mean they will comply with the investigation. The amount of secrets they need to hide is too much for such a risk.

And the Shadow Garden isn't exactly someone who would just stay still when they are threatened, the amount of blackmail material they have collected isn't something we could fathom. And even a low-ranked member wouldn't hesitate to use that to their advantage.

"So, unless you're someone who doesn't care about your reputation, no one would be foolish enough to provoke the Shadow Garden. But unfortunately for us, most high-ranking devils are fools," Serafall finished with a resigned voice. As the person in charge of Foreign Affairs, Serafall had too many experiences dealing with devilish foolishness.

"Argg, so no matter what, we're going to have to compromise with Zekram for his help," Sirzechs said in resignation.

"Yeah... we should ask Anjuka whether he has any inventions that old geezer would like," Serafall added with a sigh.

While the devils are having a depressing conversation about their government the shadow garden is quite lively. Some of the girls were even humming a tune as they rebuilt the meeting place.

Artoria's team consisted of a swordsman who used their weapons to demolish the already broken walls. And Morgana's team made up of mages used their magic to float the rubble transported into suitable places. And lastly, Merlin's team used Alchemy to remodel the rubble into various objects such as stone pillars, stone chairs, and a big stone table. And lastly, Roxanne who was carving runes into the stone pillars.

If someone didn't know any better, they would think these people were a team of supernatural construction workers. That's how efficient they were.

"And done," Roxanne announced, completing the carving of the last stone pillar with runes. With this, they now had seven stone pillars.

"Is this really necessary? The meeting would only be about 10 minutes or so. Isn't this much preparation a bit too much?" Artoria asked a hint of hesitation in her voice. She couldn't understand why Roxanne went the extra mile to carve defensive runes on stone pillars. They could just deploy a barrier like they did in the previous battle.

"Hahaha, Artoria, my dear sister, this is Roxanne we're talking about. The only person who would use all her Grandmaster crafting skills to make a sculpture for her school project. If she did something according to common sense, then I'm sure the Sun would rise from the west," Morgana said with a chuckle.

Frankly, sometimes Roxanne was more troublesome than Merlin. At least that guy had a somewhat justifiable reason for not knowing any common sense. But this girl basically gave the middle finger to common sense.

"Hey, I'm just doing our best here, alright? If we're going to set up a temporary meeting venue, why not make something that could handle another fight? And besides, we really needed to remodel that place. At the very least, break down those destroyed walls to make it presentable," Roxanne complained.

" Sigh whatever you are the one paying our salary anyway, " Artoria said with a resigned sigh.

" hahaha " Roxanne laughed dryly at her comment. Truth be told she just wanted to do some crafting after getting some inspiration from the earlier battle. But she isn't so thick-skinned to say that out loud.

And besides who knows maybe in the future they might need some stone pillars. After all, if these stone pillars are placed in the right place, the runes carved here could deploy a barrier that is able to protect anyone under a full-powered attack of a Satan class being for 3 hours straight. So it isn't all that wasteful.
