Day 31

The morning was no different than the other. Other than the fact that there are now two humans... no, Friends now know my secret. It was a rare thing. Over the 1027 years I lived, only a few knew my secret. And it was only to get some authority in this world. Yet it felt good... Finally, I can speak to someone again without worry.

H: Morning, Corni. Slept well?

C: I did for a while. But something is off...

H: What do you mean by off?

C: Around 5 AM, I felt something... Calling.

H: Is it another demon, or Idk? Whatever you kill usually?

C: No. This is different. It's friendly. Almost like a sister... I sounded somewhat familiar.

H: Ok then.

Hannan and I got dressed up and did each other's makeup. It was still early but, we decided to head to the great hall. After a while, the boys came, and the group was together. After five minutes, the scoutmasters came in and announced today's activity.

S Samantha: Ok, campers. This is the half waypoint, so we decided to do something special. Today we gonna do some medieval activities. There are 25 of you, so 5 teams. Each with 5 people in it.

R Richard: If you have friends and want to go group together you can do it here. There are gonna be 5 challenges!

S Samantha: 1st Is, Single combat.

S Richard: The 2nd is the knowledge test.

S Samantha: The 3rd is a power test.

S Richard: The 4th is swimming.

S Samantha: And the 5th and final one is archery. Each team will earn points based on their performance. The winning team will earn some rewards.

The scoutmaster reveals a table full of sweats and some games. Then I felt it. A hairpin.

R: So, team. Who's gonna do what?

A: I can take on swimming. I swim like a dolphin.

R: More like a sissy mermaid. But that will do.

H: I take the knowledge test. I know some stuff about the dark ages.

R: Since Keitaro is not that strong.

K: Hey!

R: I will take the strength test.

C: Allow me to take the archery then, please.

R: You can shoot with a bow?

C: Yeah. I loved archery as a kid, and I know a few things.

K: Then leaves me with the single combat.

A: Then it's settled. I will write up our names.

R: I'll come with you, so don't screw it up.

A: Why you, little!

Rayn and Alex are like an old couple, always barking at each other. But it allowed me to talk to others.

C: Hannah, do you remember what I said this morning?

H: You mean the calling you heard?

K: Calling?

C: Yes. On the table, there is a powerful Lunarian artifact. I don't what it can do but, we have to win no matter what. Got it?

K&H: Got it!

After the announcement, the games started within an hour.

A: You got this. Keitaro!

R: Yeah! Show them who's the boss.

I walked to Keitaro. He was in some armor costume with a wooden sword. We held hands and, I looked him in the eyes.

C: You can do this. Just take a deep breath.

I kissed him on the lips then he went away.

C: I believe in you...

The fight went on and on. Keitaro scored us a few points. He looked up and smiled as we cheered him on. He actually won 4 out of 5 points. Hannah did her best too. She was determined to win and got us 4 points. Ryan, on the other hand, was overconfident along with Alex. Then both scored 3 points. The final challenge came and, the time has come. I was the last one to participate. We were in 2nd place so far with 14 points. The first place had now 19. I had to hit all of my targets to draw at least.

S Samantha: The last person is about to do the archery challenge. If she hits a perfect score, their team still can draw and then. There will be an archery stand-off.

K: You got this, Honey! Win it for us.

H: You got this girlfriend!

R: Stomp on them!

A: Think about all the candy we will win!

Each shot was harder and harder. The first was five meters away. After the first, each target was five additional meters further away. I took a deep breath. And shot the targets.

S Richard: Bullseye!

S Samantha: Look like we had a draw. A coin flip will decide which team will choose and how far away we will put that last target. Heads or Tails?

I quickly use my future vision to see a few seconds into the future.

C: Tails!

Enemy Team: Heads!

S Samantha: It's Tails! So, far away should we put the last target?

C: Fivety.

S Samantha: Are you sure? It's very far.

C: Yes. I'm confident in my answer.

The enemy team was surprised. I was confident that I could hit it.

K: Honey, are you sure about this?

A: Yeah, it's very far. I can barely see it.

C: Yes. Don't worry, I got this.

The tiebreaker has begun. The any fired the arrow.

S Richard: It looks like the enemy hit the outer circle.

It was my time. Everyone cheered for me. I couldn't let my team down and, I needed that artifact. I took a deep breath and concentrated. And let our small prayer.

C: Mother Moon, guide my hands.

I let the arrow go. It was flying through the air faster than the speed of sound.

S Richard & Samantha: Bullseye!!!

The arrow went straight through the target's center and flew into an old tree. The arrow dug its way into the tree halfway in. Everyone was amazed.

S Richard: And we have the winners!

Our group hugged each other. We were so happy. And with that, we won our just rewards. Of course, Ryan and Alex started devouring the sweets in their cabin. Hannah, Keitaro, and I talked for a while in private at the shed.

K: How did you manage to hit the target that far away with that much power? I know it wasn't a spell because you always say those in some weird language.

C: Ancient Lunarian. But I won't go into that. It's hard to learn. But you are right. It wasn't a spell.

H: Then how?

C: Every Lunari has some kind of weapon they are really good at other than the magic they use. Some take years to find it. It's usually old weapons like swords, spears, or a mace. But mine is...

K: A bow.

C: Correct. But every Lunari has a Souldestined weapon. It is a special kind of weapon that has powers on its own. But they only obey their master's call.

H: And why are you telling us this?

C: Good question... Luna!

The hairpin in hair that we just won quickly turned into a bow.

C: This is Luna. My Souldestined weapon.

K: It's beautiful.

H: Uhhh, shiny!

It was a Crescent Moon-shaped silver bow.

H: So that's what you heard! The artifact talked about it was your Souldestined weapon.

C: Yeah. I used magic to identify what it is.

H: Wait. I saw a little locked chest on your table last night. When you opened it, it was shining. Are they different artifacts too?

C: Yes. Some important ones I might need. Don't worry. It's magically sealed. No one but I can open them but it.

H: Ohhh, bummer.

K: You must have more somewhere.

C: Yeah. There are more in my castle.

K&H: CASTLE !?!?!

C: Yeah. Did you really think I live in New York? I live in a castle on the Moon. I show it to you guys after the camp is over. Deal?

K&H: Deal.

C: But... Since I know. I can trust you guys, how about I give you something?

A tattoo appeared on Hanna's hand. The tattoo was only one world. Qidas.

H: I don't want a tattoo! And what is this gibberish anyway?

C: Don't worry, only you and the people with the mark can see it.

H: Mark?

C: On your hand, it's a mark. And the meaning of Qidas means Friend. With this, you can open my chest and use Lunari artifacts. Later, when I show you my house, you can go and enter freely.

H: Are you sure no know can see it?

K: I can't. Because I don't have a mark yet.

K: Yeah, I can see it now.

Keitaro turned red like a tomato, but he felt happy. I gave him my mark. A mark now he always has to bear. We talked a little about what each artifact did in case they needed it. When we left the shed, it was dark already. I put Luna back in my hair then we went back to our own cabin. Of course, Hannah tried a few of the artifacts. Like the Memory ring that showed her past events and, the Necklace of Protection which, created a defensive shield around her. After we had our laugh, we went to sleep. The night was long. I played with the pin in my hair all night. It was a long time since I gave my mark to someone. I'm glad to choose to come here to this camp. Without it, I wouldn't have found Luna or made such wonderful friends like them. Maybe one day, I will tell Ryan and Alex the truth. I hate leaving them out... They are my friends too, and they deserve to know the truth!
