The Hidden Villain

"Lord Volker, I want to ask you something." Volker straightened his back as he stared at Waller.

"About what?"

"Goldana Aertha." Waller said without hesitation. A second after Waller said that, Volker's face showed a surprised look, but he quickly covered it up with a cold expression of his own.

"Isn't that a legend?" asked Volker.

"Lord Volker, we both know that stone is not just a legend. That thing really exists."

"Is that true?" Volker's reaction was disinterested. "Then what do you want to know?" asked Volker again.

"That thing might be of use to Rodenis if we have it." Waller frankly. "To be honest, before this incident occurred, I was thinking about the magic stone." Waller looked at Volker, who was sipping his drink. Volker seemed utterly disinterested.

"Are you sure we can get that thing?" asked Volker. "We don't even know where that thing is right now." Volker showed a different attitude even though he knew a lot after reading Goldana Aerta's book.

"We can ask the Elder." Waller suggested. "Since it's for our clan's sake, I'm sure they will tell."

Volker chuckled, making Waller wince. But the man never said what he was laughing at.

"Why is Lord Volker laughing?" asked Waller, feeling strange.

"You are too naive. If the Elders wanted our nation to have it, they would naturally have ordered us to look for it. Says the whereabouts of the thing, and maybe we have it by now. Unfortunately they didn't do that."

"Maybe with this incident, they can change their minds."

Volker shook his head. "I dunno, I'm not even sure about that." Volker stood up from his seat. "We have to get back to work. I don't want to be engrossed in chatting to catch us off guard."

Volker walked towards the tavern selector, leaving Waller at his desk. Give some coins to the tavern owner before leaving. But the tavern owner held him back.

"Lord Volker, is there any chance of that thing coming to our village?" The man seemed a bit nervous as he spoke to Volker. "We just want things to be safe and no more bloodshed."

"That's why we're here," Volker answered matter-of-factly. "We're helping you uncover the culprit." Volker rushed out of the tavern after saying that. He monitors Delmar Village again carefully. Maybe there is something suspicious. But all is well.

Volker opened Goldana Aerta's book again and re-read it. Furthermore, he studied them and hoped that none of them were left behind. Volker was not easy to get the book. Of course, it was a 'hard' struggle. After all, not just anyone could enter the library of the Elders. Even Volker held an essential position in Remilis.

The book explains where he can get each Goldana Aerta stone fragment. They scattered in places so far from each other by the strength of the elements possessed. To unite Goldana Aerta clearly takes quite a long time. Maybe years? No one knows. Volker can not predict it.

The conversation he had with Waller last night came back to him in his head. The man also had the same thought. Should he ask Waller to team up with him? Volker looked considering, but that thought seemed to disapprove of his heart. He couldn't make that decision right now. Even though he had known Waller for so long, he couldn't fully trust the man.

For now, Volker put Goldana Aerta aside as he had more important matters to attend to. Immediately find the Meiga and give the punishment he deserves. But unfortunately, his efforts have yet to uncover who this Meiga is.

"I'm going to meet a friend. So I won't be here tonight. Waller you replace me to be in charge here." Volker announced.

"Lord Volker is leaving?" Waller asked.

"Yes, only tonight," he said.

"Fine, I understand." Waller nodded and slightly bent his back in salute to Volker.

"Thank you." Without waiting, Volker immediately left Delmis. His horse was galloping fast, but he stopped at the end of the road.

Turn right and enter the forest. Hides the horse in a safe place before hiding himself for reconnaissance. Volker looked up at the sky. The sun will sunset, meaning that night will soon fall.

Rodenis could see in the dark, so he didn't need a torch to illuminate it. Even though the soldiers kept using it every patrol.

"I was finally able to trick the soldiers of Remilis." A whisper sounded in Volker's ear. Volker looked at the source of the sound, and he could see a human was there. "Humans are greedy!" Volker felt his blood boil, hearing one of the four speak proudly of making it out of the village at night.

"Are you sure we'll survive?" one of them asked.

"Of course. Soon we will have a big animal for food reserves."

Volker's irritation faded when he remembered this would be profitable. With those humans there, Gendewa could come. Volker plugged his ears and eyes to make sure they were safe. Or perhaps there was a sign of an enemy attacking. This time, Volker would let them hunt safely under his watch. After all, the animals that will be obtained are for food.

Unfortunately, even when the hunter got hold of a deer, Gendewa didn't show up.

Unlucky! Volker wanted to curse out loud when his efforts this time also failed. This is really, really tiring. Meiga really wanted to play Rodenis. Or even himself? Who knows. Volker couldn't make things clear.

Meiga is an expert at hiding. So it will take a lot of work to find. This could be more pleasant for Volker, who likes to work fast. All the work for the past few days has been a waste of time.

Volker returned to Remilis after that, and soon enough, calls came from the Elders. Of course, to hear all the events in Delmar Village.

"How? Have you found anything yet, Volker?" Lady Alegra asked first. The woman with silver hair and golden eyes looked like a 25-year-old woman even though her actual age was 300 years. He wears a small crown on his head in the shape of a star. There is a shiny diamond in the center. Her face is small and pretty.

No one could beat Rodenis' beauty and handsomeness on the Erter Continent. All the inhabitants of the Erter Continent would immediately recognize that a Rodenis was the shape of the small and pointed ears of the Rodenis at the bottom.
