Seer

Lanie kept thinking what she saw on Jake's neck. Jake had a tattoo? But that tattoo didn't look like it was new. It was tattooed on his skin like a scar. And she didn't know if it was just hallucination that she saw it glow. She was dazed when she arrived at the lobby.

"Hey," a voice spoke. Someone's held her shoulder. She looked at who was that and she saw Mark, looking at her worriedly. She let go of a heavy sigh before nodding.

"Excuse me!" a girl's voice shouted. Lanie was about to turn around when Mark quickly pulled her so she would not collide with the girl who's running like she was in a hurry.

Lanie's surroundings suddenly became slow as Mark pulled her.

"I'm sorry!" the girl who's in a hurry shouted. Mark muttered a curse.

Mark was still holding Lanie's hand while his other hand was on her waist. Lanie closed her eyes, she felt that familiar feeling again. That feeling like something's pulling her, like a gravity and it was cold, and it feels like it was sucking her soul and energy. She suddenly took a deep breath as she opened her eyes, she saw different images like it was from a movie that was being fast-forwarded.

"Mark, baby, Mommy needs to go somewhere, okay? You can play here. I'll come back quickly." A woman said to a young boy. The young boy nodded and ran to the playground. The woman looked at the young boy once again and smiled before she turned around and left.

Then, the scene changes again. Lanie's lip parted, her brows furrowed and she tilted her head.

"I'm sorry, Ma'am. We can't let you take your loan, again. You still didn't pay your remaining loans. I'm sorry, Ma'am." the lady said to the woman. The woman begged but the lady called security. The woman was walking crying until the four men in black suits stopped her. The woman looked so scared to the men.

"Where's our money? You said you'll pay us today?" one of the men asked. The woman explained that she still has no money. The men looked angry at her and slapped her. The woman cried harder and gathered her courage to run. She was running very fast like she was running for her life. When she was about to cross the road, a loud horn occurred. The woman was hit by a car. There was a lot of blood streaming down to her head.

"My s-son…" she said in her last breath.

Lanie moved away from Mark like she was burned at his body. She was breathing heavily as she looked at Mark, apprehensive.

"Lanie? Are you okay?" Mark took a step but Lanie took a step back. She was still shocked at what she saw. That… that was Mark's mother. Lanie gulped. Her cold sweat was dripping from her forehead to her neck. Her eyes scanned Mark's body and stopped to his left hand, to his ring exactly.

"I-is that… that ring… is that from your m-mother?" she asked. Mark looked at his finger before looking at Lanie.

"Yes. Why? Are you okay? You're turning pale." Before Lanie could answer him, she fainted.

Mark was about to grab her but Tyler already held her in his arms. The few people that were in the lobby looked shocked at what happened to Lanie.

"I'll take care of her. Go back to your work." Mr. Lancaster said to Mark. Mark was about to say something but Kieffer held his shoulder and shook his head.

"The guests are staring. She'll be alright. Don't worry." he said before he followed Tyler who was carrying Lanie like a bride.

Tyler brought Lanie to his office. His office was so big that it had another room in it. He put Lanie to the bed. Kieffer locked the office so no one can disturb them and no one will hear any words they will be discussing.

Kieffer entered the room and closed the door. He sat at the single couch as he looked at Lanie while remembering what happened earlier at the lobby.

"You saw it too, right?" Kieffer asked Tyler who is now standing while looking at Lanie. He was in deep thoughts. He sighed and sat on the chair near the bed.

"She's a seer." He added. Tyler only nodded.

"This is my first time to see that kind of seer." Kieffer said and looked at Tyler who's looking at the sleeping woman in the bed. "You know I am not like those people in the Regnum. I am just a normal person so I am still, sometimes, shocked to see those kinds of things. Like I can see something that is unbelievable, the things that are existing but not."

"Call me when she wakes up. I need to go somewhere." Tyler said and stood up.

"Where? To Regnum?" Kieffer asked. Tyler shook his head.

"Dra. Kyline's Clinic." He answered. Kieffer nodded, understanding what Tyler meant.
