17th of August, 1991
Tokyo International Airport
Amidst the bustling crowd, a young man dressed in all black stood sat in the passengers waiting area next to a woman, of Japanese descent with platinum blonde hair and red eyes.
The young woman, barely of age turned to the young man with medium length black hair and crimson eyes. Her gaze was filled with an indescribable light as she attempted to say something but words would not come out.
Her expression scrunched as she tried her best to hold back her feelings, biting her lips she tried using the pain to force herself to say something but-
"Calm down"
A calm voice entered her ears as a warm hand patted her head.
Raising her eyes, the young woman met the gaze of the young man, his crimson eyes glowing with an alluring light.
The woman, enraptured, moved on pure instinct, her body lurched forward attempting to meet the man's lips but-
"That's too early for you"
A cold hand is what her lips bumped into as a feeling of loss overcame her.
At this moment, all the feelings the woman tried to hold back flooded in her mind and as the momentary joy she tried to hold onto was taken from her, the little bit of control she had was lost.
Devolving into a pitiful sob, the woman rushed into the young man's arms.
Seeing the actions of the woman, the young man let out a self deprecating sigh as he accepted the woman into his embrace.
The world around them slowed down, not only figuratively but literally, the people moving busily were moving 10x slower than normal as the young man consoled the woman.
After crying for a good 15 minutes, the woman finally calmed down, her eyes still red from crying, she looked up at the young man who gave her calm smile as he spoke-
"Lily-chan… you know I'm not going to die so don't cry, okay?"
He said calmly as if consoling a child but his words only caused the woman to clench her fist that were grabbing his trench coat even tighter as she replied with difficulty-
"But… you're leaving me… alone…"
Filled with sorrow, the young woman's words stabbed at the man's heart but he could not do anything since staying would bring more harm than good…
'Especially to those close to him'
The young man thought, recalling all the things he had done over the years.
He moved with an intent to bring justice, to bring peace, all while chasing after vengeance.
Like the main character of fiction, the young man struggled for years searching for answers and holding back until-
He found out the truth, the truth of his world and the life he had been living.
'I only wished to avenge my parents, to give peace to the previous owner of this body… I never planned to destroy a whole society'
The young man thought, recalling his journey that was filled with many ups and downs. A life that was as tumultuous as that of a character from the fate series.
'Shirou Emiya got nothing on me man'
He thought jokingly as he recalled all the actions he took in order to bring about the results he wanted.
'It was not a perfect ending but…'
The young man turned to look at the woman in his arms, another victim of this twisted world and now another unfortunate bearer of the future.
Just like him, the woman was laden with a responsibility to bring peace, but unlike him she was not one whose hands were stained crimson.
'It's unfortunate but in order to bring a semblance of order…'
He let out one final sigh before moving to give the woman a small peck to her forehead.
"?!"
His sudden move caused the woman to react, she pushed the young man away a blush staining her face as a mix of shock and confusion clouded her mind.
"Take care"
The young man said as he vanished into thin air leaving the young woman stunned on the spot.
The world around her slowly returned to normal, people would come and go but no one seemed to notice the single woman sitting alone at one of the benches.
"Mizuki you… idiot!"
She said under her breath as another stream of tears rolled down her face but this time she wiped them off. Standing, the young woman turned her gaze towards the flight that was already going up in the air.
Within her crimson eyes, a light of determination flashed behind the wall of tears that were being held back by her will.
"..."
Staring at the departing plane, the woman did not say anything and just silently watched as the only man she had loved, the only man she would ever love in this lifetime flew away, carrying a burden she would never be able to understand or know of.
