Team Practice part 2

Jason won the tip-off as expected. The ball then went to Akihiko's hands as he started to dribble towards the front court. Akihiko was met with Walter as Walter was there to defend.

Akihiko wanted to have fun playing this practice game, so he didn't plan on being a background role in the first quarters. Akihiko who was dribbling in a very slow place suddenly switched, Akihiko started to drive in a very explosive speed. Walter couldn't hope to keep up as Akihiko reached the paint.

By the time Akihiko reached the paint, Gavin as the center was there to defend. Akihiko didn't back down as he jumped and went for a lay-up. Gavin went for the block, but what Akihiko did next shocked him. When Akihiko was about to do his lay-up, he suddenly dished out the ball to Jason who received the pass. Jason then dunked the ball with power as the score was now 2-0

While going back to defense Jason opened his mouth and said something to Akihiko

"Nice Pass!"

Akihiko gave a nod accompanied with a smile as they went back on defense.

On the other side of the court

"Weren't they first years?" Walter said

"Yes, they are" the Coach replied on the bench.

Anton got the ball as he dribbled towards the 3 point line. There he was greeted by Nash. Anton taunted Nash as he said

"I hope you don't make things too easy kid."

Nash who heard this replied

"Huh?"

Anton then started to switch the ball to his left hand as he proceeded to do a crossover. But when Anton thought he pass through Nash, Nash stole the ball with complete ease as Nash went for a fast break point. Nash then scored an easy lay-up since no one was guarding him. The score was now 4-0.

Anton once again got the ball as he once again reached half court. By the time he reached there, Anton passed the ball to Walter. Walter then said to Akihiko

"You got lucky first, I wonder how you'll fare at defense"

Akihiko had a tick mark on his head as he heard this

'What the hell is this guy saying' Akihiko thought.

Walter then moved as he drived to the paint for an easy lay-up. But he was surprised because as he was about to lay the ball up, it was swatted away as Akihiko blocked the lay-up.

'What speed?!' Walter thought as he didn't expect Akihiko to even block the shot when he passed by him. But another thought came to his mind because of how relaxed Akihiko's defense was.

'There's no way he let me pass through him right?'

Akihiko dribbled the ball slowly as he went towards half court. There he was once again met with Walter who had a frustrated expression on his face. Akihiko who has had enough of him had a vicious thought in his head. 'A few ankles should be enough'

Akihiko then drove by Walter as Walter tried to keep up. But as Walter reached him, Akihiko simply did a dribble between his legs to stop his drive. But Walter, who was going in an extreme speed slipped and fell because he couldn't control his momentum.

"OHHHHHH!" the crowd went crazy seeing the defender's ankles being broken

Nash who just saw this commented

"I'm lucky that I don't have to go up against this guy again."

Anton who heard this was surprised but he kept his silence

As Akihiko looked down on Walter, he pulled-up and shot the ball.

*Swoosh* the ball went in as the score was now 6-0.

Anton then got the inbound pass as Walter got up and went back to offense. Anton who had seen enough just passed the ball to DeShawn.

DeShawn who was against Mike was in a triple threat position, DeShawn first did a jab step. Mike reacted to that as DeShawn took it a step further by doing a pump-fake. Mike jumped as DeShawn lost his defender. He didn't want to contest the ball against Jason so he just pulled up and sank the open jumper.

The score was now 6-2 as the other team finally got their first score. Akihiko got the inbound pass as he started to dribble towards half court. He was once againt met with Walter who tried to guard him. Akihiko didn't waste any time as he passed Walter. Akihiko drove to the left side so Nash's defender Anton reacted to this immediately and chased after him.

Akihiko already saw this coming so when they reached the paint, Akihiko threw the ball backwards as Nash caught the ball easily. The two defenders were surprised at Akihiko's superb passing ability as they said

"The hell was that?"

Nash then pulled-up from the three point line

*Swoosh* the ball went in as the score was now 9-2.

"Nice Shot" Akihiko said, this surprised Nash as he didn't expect Akihiko to compliment him. He then replied "All thanks to your pass."

Alexandra who saw this little moment between the two was happy because a team needed to be a team. You can't have players who always fought with each other. Team chemistry is and will always be important in the game of basketball or in any other sports out there.

Basketball is a team game and most people tend to forget that. Even the best players needed a team that is able to support them.

Anton got the ball and proceeded to pass towards DeShawn. But, Nash predicted this as he intercepted the pass. He then passed the ball to Akihiko who dribbled the ball slowly, allowing the defenders to go back organized.

While dribbling from the three point line, Akihiko looked at Nash as Nash understood what Akihiko wanted; a screen.

Akihiko's defender Walter, didn't know what was coming as Akihiko went to the left side. Walter immediately reacted as he went towards the left side, but he bumped against a wall that was Jason, he fell down to the ground. Infront of Akihiko was Gavin, this was what Akihiko wanted, he then saw Jason running to the paint.

Akihiko threw the ball high into the air as Jason who was running, suddenly jumped and caught it mid-air as he dunked it on the rim.

The crowd went crazy after seeing the play that was displayed by their basketball team.
