Chapter 1Chapter 1- Death at the hands of his relatives

BEEP-BEEP… a monitor near the bedside made some noise. Lying next to it, on a bed was a skinny young man with a sickly pale skin.

"Cough… cough" the young man coughed, he looked no more than fifteen years old. All around him, were various medical equipment meant to maintain his life. Clearly, the place was inside a hospital.

At this moment, the eyes of the young man were bleak and hollow as he blankly stared at the ceiling. An atmosphere of despondence surrounded him. The reason for that was none other than the noise that came from the outside.

"I told you there is no point in keeping him here any longer. He is destined to die from that incurable disease. Wouldn't it be better for us to save that money"

A high pitched noise belonging to a woman, sounded out.

"Shhh… keep your voice low, he is sleeping. His father was the president of the company and had left all that money for his treatment. It can be said that it is his money. Even if we are his relative, we cannot take it" The other voice was that of a calm middle aged man.

"Hmph, so what? Elder sister is right. It has been eight years since he has been admitted here and even the doctors all around the world have said that the disease cannot be cured. It is just a waste of money to keep him in the ICU any longer".

"Cousin brother has already died and his son has been in the hospital for years. I think it would also be better for him if we relieve him of this pain" Another voice that sounded younger than the voice of the woman before sounded out.

"What are you implying?" the man spoke again, his voice contained a trace of anger.

"Brother in law doesn't have to be mad at me, I'm just saying that all that money is lying around without any purpose. The legal heir is also about to die, in that case, aren't we his relatives the owner of that money? Then shouldn't we put that money into use instead of letting it rot and be used for prolonging Yang Chen's life"

The younger woman reasoned, her words were cold and selfish.

"Even if that child is asleep, you shouldn't utter that" the man tried to defend once again. However, even he couldn't do anything against his wife and her sister.

"Darling, our company is in dire need of that money. If we get that amount, it would be equal to three times the net worth of our rival company. At that time, we could launch all those projects we have been keeping in the backlines and expand to new sectors".

"We can become the market dominators and suppress the Kang Group. However, we cannot claim it as long as he is alive" the older woman said resolutely.

This time, even the man was silent. It was after a long while that he said in a defeated tone.

"Alright let me see what I can do. Regulations do not allow him to be moved away from the ICU but I know a few doctors who would be able to do something about the situation".

The young man inside the room, lying on top of his bed was listening to everything. He wasn't asleep as they had thought.

As he listened to their conversation, his dull eyes altered between despair and ruthlessness. He couldn't believe that the people out there were once his relatives who had shared a meal with him at the same table when he was a child.

Now however, after his parents had died in a mysterious car accident and he was admitted to the hospital when he was eight years old. The relatives who used to be so courteous to him were now like blood hungry beats that were after the money his father left him.

How could he not be angered, saddened, loathe and hate these people who were planning to kill him? He felt abhorred to even recognise them as his relatives.

If he was moved away from the ICU, it was as good as killing him. His life was delicately hanging in a balance and was being prolonged by these medical equipments.

The disease that had been found in his blood seven years ago, was incurable. His father had tried numerous ways to cure him, he had brought him to numerous hospitals and consulted with the best of the best doctors.

Ultimately though, all of them said the same thing. Nevertheless, his parents never gave up. One year ago when his father and mother were going on a foreign trip to consult the world's most renowned doctor, they had died in a car crash. Leaving him all alone and with a vast sum of fortune. However, wealth meant nothing to a dying person.

"Seven years" Yang Chen extended, his hand towards the ceiling "It has been seven years since I was admitted to the hospital. The life I used to live before, seems just like a dream now. Father, mother what do I do?".

An image of a stern yet dignified middle aged man and a lovely woman with her charming and motherly smile floated in his mind.

It felt like if he just extended his hand a little more, he would be able to touch them. He remembered the times when the three of them were in that house, that joyful environment, those scolding of his father, his mother's loving embrace when he was crying.

All of it played like a loop again and again in his head for the past one year. Nobody could tell how much he missed them.

His eyes which were lost in memories finally gained some lucidness and a determination flashed inside those dull black eyes of his.

"Father… honestly, I want to give up. I miss you all too much. I'm tired of living like this. But if I said that, I'm sure that if you were here you, would give me a good scolding. You who have never ever given up in your life, or on me would definitely be disappointed".

"Thus I will live, no matter what happens, I will not allow those ungrateful relatives of mine to do as they wish. I'm sure that you would be proud of my decision. I miss you two" Yang Chen was talking to himself as he stared at particularly nowhere.

"The Order sure is black-hearted," he angrily thought as he made his way into the building begrudgingly. The building could be considered his home away from home and a source of endless grief for him due to its unforgiving working hours. More Importantly, Great Emperors--Supreme Beings that stand above everyone and everything, even life and death itself. Despite being born in one of the most powerful sects in the world, Wang Wei was placed under tremendous pressure when so many expectations were placed on him by his sect due to the fact they have not cultivated a Great Emperor for countless millennia--an act which threatened the fundamental status of his family, friends, and sect. This story has a similar setting as Emperor Dominion, I am a True Villain, and Scoring the Sacred Body of the Ancients from the Get-go. If you enjoy this type of story, then you will enjoy my story. The first 30 chapters or so have many problems story-wise, so please bear with it as I was just beginning as a writer. However, I promise the story gets better afterward. I won't beat around the bush. If you are going to enjoy this novel, you need to be aware that the majority of this novel where I'm at (Chapter 250) takes place when the kid is only 14 years of age. Now, what exactly do I mean by that? Well, you find out in the beginning that he was a cripple for his first life, which then translates to why the MC starts off somewhat with a naive type of personality. Let's be honest there. When we were 14, we likely did things looking back we would cringe at or want to slap ourselves for our stupid behavior. This story kind of brought that memory back. I'm not saying the story is bad. I actually like what the novel is trying to do. Cripple on Earth, gets reincarnated to a cultivation like world that uses Battle Energy and not Qi and has an system that leans more toward Mischief and Chaos than pure Greed or Evil. The idea is absolutely open to entertaining situations and that is one of the reasons I continued. I want to see this novel do well. I truly do. Now if you're asking me if it delivers, I would tell you yes and no. Like I said, the main character will eventually do things you might nitpick at. Not fully sell off items he could have, walking into situations he could have avoided if he was a bit more astute or not picking up more information about his surroundings before doing something. Again, to reiterate, the MC is like a child becoming a teen, so expect him to have a ton of things that may seem stupid, arrogant or downright lacking. If you're are the type to want a smart, overpowered, all knowledgeable MC, you have to look elsewhere. This is more of an rise to becoming the strongest evil entity or something like an anti-hero at best. Would I recommend it? If you can put up with the downsides I mentioned yeah you can. Score 7.5 out of 10 Personal Score 7.4 out of 10
