Interlude

It was quite a bit cold out even though I knew damn well that it was mid day, and it was usually warm or even hot around this time of the day most of the time. That did not seem to be the case on this day at all how ever, which I felt could be for one of many reasons, as the main one being the fact that it was just starting to get that time of the year, and it was near that season where it seemed to be that every thing always got quite a bit cold, even if it was day time. Luckily that time of the year did not last all that long. That was not the reason how ever, as to just why it was that is seemed to feel quite a bit cold to me right now how ever, as it kind of felt like that reason was a whole nother reason altogether, if I was going to be completely honest with my self right at this very moment in time. No... I knew the reason as to just why it was that it seemed to feel quite a bit cold right now, as it was not just due to the simple fact that it was cold.

The real reason as to just why it was that it was cold right at this very moment in time, was due to the fact that there were some fairly strange people around me right now. The man that was right in front of me right now, who did in fact seem to scare me quite a bit, all a the exact same time too, was a very large man, that seemed like he could tear me apart in one single gulp, which made me gulp some spit down my throat all at the exact same time as well, as to the fact that I had those thoughts even coming in to my head. It was not just the fact that he was big that did not seem normal to me, as I knew that his skin color was just fine as it seemed to look around the range of the people that lived in the city, though I was fairly certain that this man did not live in this city at all, and based off of the fact that he had his girl friend with him right now, as her skin was far too dark for that to be normal at all for some one that was in this city, I had to assume that they were not from here.

Besides, I knew most of the people that were in this city any ways, or I at least had seen their faces before. The faces of these people, were for sure not at all a normal face, as even the lighter skinned man did not seem to have a normal face at all either. The woman was the one that I had my eyes on right now how ever, as she was the one that for sure was not normal at all. It was clear to me at the exact same time as well, that based off of the way that they had spoken to me, that the language that was in our nation, was not their main language, which made me start to come to a little bit of a realization all a the exact same time too, that these people were not from our nation at all, as it was clear that these people were from some other place in the world, which kind of freaked me out, as I had mainly thought that our nation was the only place in the world that could even exist at all, for some stupid and odd reason or another.

I was just a bit lost how ever, as to just why it was that they had decided that they wanted to come over to our nation, all at the exact same time too, as I knew that this was the worst place to be right now, especially at a time such as the one that we were in right now. Surely the nation that they lived in could not be worse than ours right? I shivered at even the thought of it, all at the exact same time as well, as I could only imagine a nation full of slaves that hardly got fed any thing, and were not able to have their own housing, nor did they make any money at all. I felt sick at even the thought of it, all at the exact same time as well, as I did my best to try to get my focus off of all of those thoughts, all at once, as I then got my focus on some thing completely different, which was the fact that these strange, and odd people had taken me to some ally way, as they had told me that they had wanted to talk to me, all at the exact same time too.

I was fine with it, all at the exact same time as well, as I was very interested in just who these people were, as it seemed to be a little bit more important to me right now, than the fact that I knew that there was some thing going on on the rebellion right now, which just seemed to be a bit boring to me, as it did not feel like there was any thing that I could do at all, about any of that how ever. I dipped my head a bit low to the ground all at the exact same time as well, as I still felt like I could not help but to feel a little bit guilty, all at the exact same time as well, as to the fact that I had left them all behind, to go do what ever it was that I had come here to do in the very first place any ways, which, if I was going to be for real with my self, right at this very moment in time, I was not all too sure as to just what it was that I had even came here to do at the exact same time as well, as I really was regretting it.

I also did not know these people at all either, and at the exact same time as well, I had a little bit of a lingering suspicion that they were here to mug me, which I felt just did not make sense at all, during the given situation that we were in right now, even if the man was a lot stronger and bigger than I was. I felt like the more likely out come was the fact that they had been sent to kill me, as they might know some thing about me, due to the fact that my wife was where ever it was that they were at right now. I moved back a little bit, all at the exact same time too, as I was not all too sure as to just what it was that I should do right now, nor what it was that I was even doing in the very first place any ways, as I began to start to look back out of the ally way, just to make sure that I could run and get away to the rebellion, before the man was able to catch up to me. After I did in fact do as such a thing like that, I then all of the sudden turned my head back over to the man and the woman, all at the exact same time too.

Once I got a fair bit back, in a bit of a more comfortable spot, I then turned my head back over to them, to thankfully see that the man and the woman had not seemed to move a single muscle at all, thankfully enough, all at the exact same time as well. I breathed in quite a bit to my self, all at the exact same time as well, as I then nodded to my self, all at the exact same time too, as I began to start to feel a bit better about all of this. As I did in fact do as such a thing like that, I then in the end, eventually turned the nod in to a bit of a nod towards the both of them, all at the exact same time as well, to let them know that I was about to speak to the both of them. As they saw me do as such a thing, the both of them immediately nodded to me, as it was clear that they did not want to waste any sort of time. It made me gulp just a bit to my self, once again, as I was still a bit freaked out about that. I did my best to try to shake off all of those thoughts how ever, either way, as after just a few more seconds, I then did in fact begin to start to speak up to the both of them, not all too sure as to just who it was that was the leader of the 2, as the big guy you would think would be the leader, but at the exact same time, the woman had a bit of a look on her face that might signify that she was the leader. I breathed in just a bit to my self either way, as I then started to begin to speak to the both of them.

"I don't know who you are and hey, look... I don't have any money on me, I promise... I don't know what you want from me... I am nothing special, I swear, I don't even know what is going on out there..." I said to them, as I winced a bit at the last part, as I knew that it was a lie, and I also knew that I was a very bad liar, all at the exact same time too, as I began to breath in quite a bit to my self, all at the exact same time too, as I still was not all too sure about any of this, nor did I seem to have a single clue as to just what it was that any of this was even about, in the very first place any ways. I shivered a bit to my self, all at once, as I was not all too sure about any of this. I did not want to die right here, right now, before I even could get a chance to save my wife, Sandy. I did my best to all of the sudden stay strong, all at the exact same time too, as I then all of the sudden began to squint at the big man as for some reason, what so ever, as I knew that it was a terrible idea, I then began to size the big man up.

I knew that the big guy could easily tear me apart, so I was not all too sure as to just what it was that I was even thinking right now. I was just trying to stay strong, as I knew that I did not want to simply die with out a little bit of a fighting spirit, as I knew that was the reason as to just why it was that I had even joined the rebellion in the very first place any ways, as it was not just the fact that I was trying to get Sandy back, as I was fairly certain that she was already long gone at this point. I began to breath in quite a bit to my self, all at the exact same time too, as I then all of the sudden got my focus on instead, the fact I knew that I had to at least fight back against all of that, and that I knew that I could not go down with out even trying, never the less. I just kept my eyes on the man, as I kept my eyes squinted at him, all at the exact same time too, which did not seem to bother the both of them all too much, so I was not all too sure as to just what it was that I was thinking.

I looked at the both of them all of the sudden, all at the exact same time too, as I saw that the man and the woman then turned their heads away from me, all at the exact same time too, as I saw that the both of them were now speaking to one another, a bit quietly, as it was clear that they did not want me to hear a single word as to just what it was that they were saying to each other, which I could not help but to be quite a bit worried for, as I knew that there could be a lot of different reasons as to why that might the case, as they could be trying to rewrite their scheme as to how it was that they were going to plan on killing me, or maybe even the fact that they were going to take me in to the government, which I was not all too sure as to the fact as to which one might be worse, all at the exact same time as well, as I felt like, perhaps if they were to take me in, than they might at the very least let me go and see my wife Sandy, one last time.

I shook off all of those thoughts, all at the exact same time as well, as I knew that was not the mind set that I should be thinking right at this very moment in time, as I knew that I should have my thoughts on the fact that I had any sort of hope that I would see my wife ever again. Even if they were to take me in, I for one was fairly certain that my wife was already dead for one thing, and I knew that I should not be getting my hopes up that she could still be alive as well. Then there was also the fact that even if she was still some how alive in there, than there would be no sort of reason as to just why it was that they would let me go and see her either. I sighed just a bit to my self, as I felt like I would just rather die right here and right now, rather than be taken in, all at the exact same time too, that way I could at least say to my self before I was to die, that I had at the very least, tried to do some thing to save my wife, and my unborn child.

I then began to draw a little bit closer, as if I was tempting the man to run at me, and as if I was tempting the man to try to kill me, all at the exact same time too, for some stupid and odd reason or another. I felt like a bit of an idiot, as to just what it was that I was doing, as I also felt like, weirdly enough, none the less, that I was being a bit of a coward for what I was doing, as to the fact that I felt like I would just rather die, than go down with out a fight. I knew that it was not in my nature, so I was not all too sure as to just what it was that I was even thinking at all right at this very moment in time, if I was going to be for real with my self. I breathed in quite a bit heavily, all at the exact same time as well, none the less, as I saw that the both of them had all of the sudden noticed that I was drawing closer to them, and the both of them stopped talking, as they then both turned their eyes over to me, squinting their eyes at me, all at the exact same time as well.

I was a bit lost as to just why it was that it might be the case at first, until I then began to realize, and I began to start to remember, all at the exact same time too, that the both of them had clearly been trying to speak to one another privately, and it was clear that they did not want me to hear what it was that they were saying either, which I felt like I could not blame them for, even if it was in fact some thing that was oddly, as well as highly suspicious to me, all at the exact same time as well. As soon as I then began to realize as to just what it was that I was doing, and just how stupid it was that I was being right now, I then all of the sudden dipped my head a bit low to the ground, all at the exact same time too, as I had quite a bit of a guilty look on my face, none the less, as to just what it was that I had even been doing, as to the fact that I had done it with out any sort of second thought, all at the exact same time too, which I knew was a terrible habit to get in to, and it was hard to get out of.

Luckily, I was not in that habit, at least, I was not in it just yet, as I sighed a bit of a soft sigh to my self, all at the exact same time as well, as I then all of the sudden got my focus on the thoughts that I they were staring at me, just as they had been doing earlier, as if they had all of the sudden forgot as to just what it was that they were even going to say to me in the very first place any ways, which, if I was not going to lie to my self either, did in fact make me feel quite a bit uncomfortable at the exact same time too, none the less, as I began to breath in quite a bit to my self, all at the exact same time as well, as I then all of the sudden got my focus on the fact that I felt like now might be the perfect time for me to go and run over to the rebellion, to try to protect my self, all at the exact same time too, as I felt like it was a terrible idea to go in to a dark ally way with a bunch of strange people that I did not know either.

I blinked my eyes a few times how ever, as I then all of the sudden, all at the exact same time as well, then saw the woman nod to me, all at the exact same time too, as it was clear that she was about to speak to me none the less. I was not all too sure as to just what it was that I should do back, as I was still a bit tempted to run off, but at the exact same time as well, I also was a little bit interested in just what it was that she had to say to me in the very first place any ways, as I did remember that these people were strange after all, and it was clear that they were not from this area, all at the exact same time too. I blinked my eyes just a few times, as in the end, I did in fact nod back to her, to let her know that I was listening to her. I could tell that it made her feel a lot better, all at the exact same time too, as she then all of the sudden began to start to speak to me, all at the exact same time too, and I began to start to listen as to just what it was that she even had to say to me in the very first place any ways, never the less.

"Well... I am Amelia, and this is my companion Cole..." She said to me, as I saw her look over to her 'companion' all at the exact same time as well, as she nodded to him, all at the exact same time as well, to let him know that she was talking about him, when she had said his name, Cole. I was a bit surprised by it, all at the exact same time too, as I was not all too sure as to just what it was that I should think by what it was that she had even said in the very first place any ways. I just looked at the both of them with quite a bit of a blank look on my face, as I felt like that should be the only thing, and the only hint that I should give them right now, as I knew for a fact that I for sure was not about to give the government my name, all at the exact same time as well. I shook off all of those thoughts, all at the exact same time too, as I still was not all too sure if they even were a part of the government. I got my focus off of that how ever, all at once, as I then started to notice that it seemed like Cole was a little bit hurt by what it was that Amelia had said for some odd reason or another, which confused me quite a bit. It was clear that she was paying him no sort of attention any longer, but I had my eyes on him. I then began to realize all at the exact same time as well, as to just why it was that the guy might be a bit hurt, all at the exact same time too, as I realized that she had called him a companion, rather than just a friend, or what ever it was that he was really hoping she would say. I rolled my eyes a bit to my self, all at the exact same time too, as I then all of the sudden got my focus in on the thoughts that Amelia, the woman, was once again speaking, as I then all of the sudden turned my head back over to her, and I then began to start to listen as to just what it was that she had to say back to me, once again, none the less. "And you are Randolph... We have been waiting long and hard to find you... You might not know it yet, but you are the key to saving the world..."
