"You're dead!"

I stared at the unnaturally tall thing, a crown of dead stars on its head. The creature had no face, only a gaping void that swallowed all color and form. His robes were the color of faded hopes and tarnished glory, and his hands were misshapen, he seemed to have too many or too few fingers that were either too short or too long and unnaturally bent. It was as if his form had created something that had only a vague understanding of the human form.

"That's not possible, I'm not dead, where am I, who are you?" I said each of my questions very quickly.

"Unfortunately for you, you're dead, you died when you were hit by a drunk driver while crossing the road." As for where you are, you are in the void between the afterlife.

At his words, I remembered the last thing that happened to me.

The memory flooded me with a flood of emotions. Sadness that I will no longer see my friends and anger at the banality of my death.

I took a deep breath and tried to calm my emotions. It may break later. I'm doing something important right now.

As I thought about what to say, I realized something. I looked at the creature and realized it hadn't answered my last question.

"Who and what are you"? I ask, something is wrong there.

At my words, a non-existent smile seemed to spread across a non-existent face.

"I am you," he said.

"How can you be me, I'm me" I said and wanted to scream.

"I am you from the future, more precisely, I am your future from another omniverse". he said then took a few steps closer to me and continued "Our planes of existence have experienced a configuration that allows short travel between our realities".

"What do you want from me?" I said confused.

"You see, our omniverses are only briefly connected so I decided to use the time to see how my doppelgänger is doing. Unfortunately, when I looked at your condition, I saw that you were dying so I brought you here to give you a chance to become as powerful as I am.

"How?" I said and hung up.

"I will give you some of my powers as well as a version of the system I use to manage my powers." he paused and added "if you manage to complete your first mission in the new universe, you will receive a surprise that will help you on your journey."

"Can I choose where I'm reborn and keep my memories?" I ask him.

"No, I have already chosen your reincarnation," he said with a smile, then added, "You will keep all your memories, or rather, sleep in the depths of your soul until you wake up and regain control of your body at a chosen place and time.

As I was thinking, the thing just looked at me and said, "By the way, I forgot to mention that you'll have a slight advantage with my system, that's the jumpchain you need to complete".

I look at him and see him raise his hand and just snap his fingers and I feel a bunch of information go into my brain. I see a bunch of choices and slowly read and analyze everything. After ten minutes I just laugh because I know what decisions I have to make to gain absolute power. I focus my mind and fill out the form very quickly, when I'm done I just click to finish.

I direct my mind to another stack of papers and quickly read and fill out another form. My future Harem i coming to you. I click the ok sign and finish the second document.

My doppelgänger just laughed at my choices and replied, "Fraudster and pervert as always. It's nice that we think alike."

"Now I ask for the last time if you really want to be reborn. If you refuse my offer, you will be taken to the afterlife".

I looked at him even more thoughtfully, absolute power is at my fingertips and I had no one close to me, my parents died when I was a child, and I grew up in an orphanage. But what if he plans to cheat on me.

"We can't talk forever, decide quickly," he told me in an annoyed tone.

"I agree". I tell him firmly, I don't want to miss this opportunity, I'm taking a risk."

"Good luck with your new life, enjoy one of the worst realities you can live in," he said the last part very mockingly and just snapped his fingers.

"Wait the hell, I just have a few questions!!!" I said the last part with a loud scream and all I felt was darkness and I passed out.

I woke up.

Then I realized that I wasn't in any kind of bed or room, I was in some place that looked like the top of some futuristic city and I saw standing next to me, giant warriors in golden armor standing next to me.

And then I looked at myself and felt my body which was Herculean. Everything from the massive, bulging muscles to the proportions of my body looked perfect. My features were perfect as was my black hair, I was a giant, I was taller than these golden soldiers in my beautiful golden armor and then I was surprised when I finally registered my face.

At the moment of facial recognition, memories began to flood in a huge uncontrollable flood. As the memories assimilated very quickly, I realized that if I didn't have my powers, I would collapse from being overwhelmed.

Digging through my memories gave me an understanding of what I had chosen. I was the God-Emperor of Mankind and I was in Warhammer 40k before the primarch scattering.

A little digging into my memories gave me the understanding and experience to manage all of my abilities.

Come to think of it, I'm an emperor and thank God I have all the knowledge and powers of an emperor, I'd be really screwed if I didn't have them.

Alas, Terra is not yet united, the thunder warriors are not yet purged, and the primarch project is not yet complete. I'll have to find a way to give the thunder warriors an honorable death instead of being purged and prevent them from losing their primary. I have to find a way to deal with Rangdan, the Orcs, and the fucking Chaos Gods.

Just thinking about so many possible problems gives me a headache.
