A fanfiction of SMRiaG (just a try for the contest XD) This is the stort of college student Rou as he plays the globally popular VRMMO, World of Magic, as a Fish Beastman who aims to be known to all as the Fish Overlord!
A few days have passed, and Rune's enthusiasm about the game increased as those days went by. After getting his capsule set up and playing around with the desktop mode to pass the time until the game becomes open, it was finally time.
"Link start! Huh? Why'd I say that...? Anyway! It's time for me to actually make my character! I wonder how the creation will work though."
As soon as Rune started the game, he seemed to have appeared in a place similar to when his desktop mode was still empty, a pure white space. After looking around for a bit, Rune noticed that place was somewhat shifting because space looked like it was wobbling. Before Rune could even blink, he saw an angel-like figure floating with their back against him.
"Hm? Ah! A new one has decided to join this world filled with swords and magic."
As if waiting on cue, the angel-like figure turned around and what Rune saw was not an incredibly beautiful or handsome face, but an androgynous face that gave one a sense of familiarity and comfort. The androgynous angel then smiled at Rune and said.
"You looked interested in me or maybe my race or looks itself, but your excitement to start is all over your face you know."
"Hehehehe... I won't deny my interest in your race, but I am also somewhat interested in the person itself you know."
Seemingly surprised by the unexpected words that came from Rune's mouth, the angel was dazed, but only for a moment. Smiling a bit more brighter than before, the angel raised their hand toward Rune who then saw a hologram of different humanoids. There was Elf, Dwarf, human, Beastman, Orc and others, but without checking the humanoid figures closely, Rune quickly said.
"I'd like to be a Human with the same features as me, please."
"Oh? That was a quick choice. Care to elaborate why?"
The angel was indeed curious as to how Rune quickly chose his race seemingly without even checking or listening to the benefits that each race holds.
"Ah. Well, I already made up my mind to choose to be a Human even if there were other races that looked cool or appealing. I have a goal already in mind, and I plan on doing it with the body I already have even though it would be inside a game."
"A goal? Can you tell me what your goal is?"
With eyes shining like clear water reflecting sunlight, Rune placed a fist on his chest and gave a mischievous, yet charismatic grin then Rune said with confidence.
"My goal is to be the Fish Overlord! I will tame all things aquatic, be it plants or animals! And with my group of tamed plants and animals, maybe even others who have the same goals as me, will explore the wide and deep oceans which definitely contains all kinds of mysterious and beautiful things alike! This is my goal!"
