Eren
As he strolled leisurely across the grand corridor of the castle, beams of golden sunlight filtered through the numerous square windows lining the expansive walkway, casting a warm glow on the intricate tapestries adorning the stone walls. The rhythmic echo of his footsteps reverberated loudly, creating a symphony of sound that was soon joined by the light footfalls of his companions - Mikasa, Jean, Marco, Floch (who appeared to be in higher spirits now), Sasha, and several other valiant soldiers.
A week had passed quickly since the death of Rod Reiss. Despite his involvement in his death, Zeke was still watched closely, but now, instead of Mike. Levi was the one watching over him like a hawk.
Historia had made a request: Annie didn't need to be under watch all the time, saying she had proved herself as an ally of Humanity inside the walls. After a little talk, War Chief Zachary approved of that, and Annie was officially a citizen of the Humanity inside the Walls.
It had taken a week for the preparations to start, but finally, after a long time. Their wedding would start soon.
After the death of Rod, they checked what was left of the cave; Kenny told them where to check to find anything they might need, including the other two Titan Shifters. In the cell, they found Reiner, who was still chained up. Eren hadn't been there, but Captain Levi described him as looking more like a corpse, as for the other Titan Shifter, Pieck Finger. She had come quietly with them, but according to Mikasa, she had almost attacked Annie at the first sight of her, calling her a traitor.
Since then, Annie had visited her jail cell three times, but Pieck still cursed her and didn't seem to care that she would die if she decided not to work with them. Eren didn't know what to do; he knew she was Annie's friend, but she couldn't force her into joining them. But he had promised Annie that he would talk with Pieck himself to try and change her mind, but he doubted it. She didn't know him; she knew him as an enemy and nothing more; if her mind didn't change because of Annie, then no one could change her mind.
Now, he was getting ready for the small celebration that would be held for him.
Historia
"Okay, turn to the left a little Historia..." With a gentle smile playing on her lips, Mina's voice rang out sweetly in the room. Observing her friend, she watched as Historia delicately slipped into a stunning wedding dress that exuded elegance and grace. The gown, a vision in white, boasted intricate lace detailing that cascaded down the bodice, leading to a grand and voluminous skirt that billowed gracefully from the waist, enveloping Historia in a whirl of bridal enchantment.
"How does it look, Mina?" asked Historia, blushing quite a bit. Mina beamed, tears appearing at the sight of her friend in a wedding dress.
"You look stunning, Historia...does it feel too tight anywhere?" she asked.
"No, it fits perfectly...its nice and comfortable," Historia replied.
"I'm so glad it fits...you look gorgeous," Mina cried. Historia blushed more, looking at herself in the mirror.
She felt even more color reach her cheeks as realization hit. This was really happening. She was marrying Eren...tomorrow.
And the dress she was wearing...it was no ordinary wedding dress. It was the most beautiful dress that could be inside the Walls.
Historia wondered how Eren would look at her. She knew some of their friends were already asking why Eren was marrying Historia and why Mikasa wasn't trying to kill someone, but they had yet to tell them that Mikasa would marry her and Eren soon enough.
"Historia how's it...oh my god!" Ymir gasped, seeing. She placed her hand over her heart, beaming.
"Historia, you look gorgeous." Ymir smiled brightly at seeing her in such a wonderful dress.
"Thank You, Ymir." She said while whirling around, showing off her white dress.
"Historia, you already look like a proper Queen!" Ymir complimented, with a tiny blush on her cheeks; the blonde girl giggled at the sight of her friend blushing like that; suddenly, the door opened, and Mikasa, Sasha, and Annie walked in.
"Historia!! You look amazing, even better than a piece of meat!" Sasha shouted at the sight of her.
"Sasha, that's not a compliment." Mikasa said before softly tugging her ponytail from behind. Annie had to admit that the little Queen looked beautiful.
Eren
Everything was set for tomorrow. Eren and Historia decided to have an outdoor wedding. The ceremony would be held outside.
"Caption Levi, you know...I am getting married tomorrow," Eren grumbled, sick of cleaning the tables nonstop. It was almost ridiculous. Soon enough, he would be crowned King, and she would be Queen, yet Levi still ordered him to clean his room in the Survey Corps Headquarters.
"I'm fully aware of that, Eren. So you work as much as you can today, because you're getting a week off for your honeymoon, and sadly I can't really order you to clean after you become a King," Levi replied firmly.
Eren sighed but continued to clean. "You know soon enough, I will be King, and you can't order me anymore," Eren said teasingly; Captain Levi merely sighed in annoyance.
"Well, I hope I don't need to remind you, otherwise your chambers will be full of Spider Webs because you are too lazy to clean shit." He responded, with Hange laughing at his words.
"Hey, I will have better things to do than just cleaning my room. Ohh, what about Zeke? Will he be present at my wedding?" Eren questioned with a strange feeling at the thought of his older brother, despite it being a week since Rod was killed. They had barely exchanged any words with one another. Commander Erwin Pixis wanted to talk with him about what he could contribute to the Humanity inside the Walls. Due to him being quite important in Marley, he had a lot of information that Annie didn't have; for this reason, most of Zeke's time was spent talking with the Commanders of the three Military Branches.
Eren knew he would have time to get to know him after being crowned King. While Connie and Armin teased him, the fact that he would become King. On the other hand, to his surprise, Jean was different; Horse Face didn't try to tease him. Instead, he talked to him about his dream.
' "Eren, why are you doing this?" Jean suddenly questioned as they walked onto the balcony; everyone else was inside celebrating the victory, his voice firm and demanding as he leaned forward, his arms resting on the wooden railings of the balcony; the sky was drowning in stars, almost like they were effortlessly swimming across the dark sea that was the sky.
"Doing what?"
"Don't play games with me, Eren. We might have insulted one another during the Training Corps, but one thing you stayed true to was your desire to be free, and now you want to become King. That's a lot of responsibility you are placing on your shoulders." Jean snapped, and much to his surprise, a frown formed on his face.
"You're a moron, but you must understand that once you become King. It will be impossible for you to be as Free as you were. You will have to lead this place, attend meetings, and do a whole lot of jobs that you don't even know how to do." Jean continued as he placed his hand on his shoulder.
"I just want to know why? You were all about Freedom, and you will have to do a job that restricts your Freedom." Jean's question lingered in the air like a thick mist.
"You are right, Jean. I wanted to be free when I was a child. I used to look at the walls in wonder without much thought." Jean filled the glass with wine before giving it to him. "One day, Armin showed me the book his grandfather had. It had drawings of the outside world. Flaming rivers, frozen lands, the ocean, and much more. Since that day. I have despised the sight of the walls because they reminded me that I wasn't Free." Eren took a small sip of wine from his glass before placing it on the table.
"Then, Bertholdt broke down the wall, I watched as my mother was eaten by a Titan. My father told me everything, and then turned me into a Pure Titan so I could consume him and gain his powers. I still wanted to be free, but one thing I have learned, Jean."
"What is that, Eren?" Jean questioned, sounding intrigued.
"I can't live forever. I have to make use of my life as much as possible; one day, my children will walk on the same ground I have walked on. I want to make sure the world for us is a better place for them. I want to give Freedom to the Eldians. For a century, the Reiss Family killed anyone who invented anything they deemed as too dangerous. I don't want the Walls to be ruled by someone else who will make the same mistakes. I'm not saying I won't make mistakes because I know I will, but I will make sure, in the end, our children will be born Free." Jean looked at his eyes, his very soul as if trying to read his mind; silence remained between the two like a cold blanket pulled away when Jean let out a soft chuckle.
"Very well. But don't expect me to call you 'your grace'; you will always be the 'Suicidal Bastard' to me." Jean japed; Eren laughed as they slapped each other's shoulders.
"And you will always be 'Horse Face.'" Eren added. Soon, Marco and Floch joined them.'
"Yes, he will." Eren escaped his thoughts when Captain Levi talked to him.
"What?" Eren blinked in confusion, only now realizing he had been too deep in his thoughts.
"The Monkey Titan will watch from far away, but he's forbidden from getting close to you." He said with a grunt before leaving his room.
Tomorrow
"So are you nervous, Historia?" asked Sasha as she brushed Historia's hair.
"Honestly, no. I hear about a lot of brides getting nervous, even physically ill right before their wedding but...I'm not feeling that at all," admitted Historia.
"Well, duh, you are marrying Eren, how can someone be nervous because of that." Ymir chimed in with her comments.
"You will be nervous too, Ymir. Girls like you are usually the ones who get the most nervous." Sasha added with a cute smile as she kept brushing Historia's hair.
"Me, nervous! Hell No. I'm not that kind of girl who trips over her own words. I know what I want, and I take it. As simple as that." Ymir said with a look of hunger as she looked at both Sasha and Historia. The huntress gulped slightly, still remembering how it had felt that night when they all had slept together.
Later
As the group of girls wrapped up their final touches, the soft morning light gently illuminated the elegant setting around them, signaling the approaching hour of eight o'clock. The anticipation of the imminent wedding ceremony filled the air with a palpable buzz of excitement and joy. A stunning pathway unfurled before them like a luxurious red carpet, leading the way to the grand event awaiting their presence. The seating arrangements, adorned with sophisticated wicker chairs draped in rich red fabric, exuded an air of refinement and sophistication, setting the stage for a truly memorable celebration of love and union.
There were around one hundred guests. Mina's family, Connie, Sasha's family, Jean's family, Marco, Mikasa, Ymir, Captain Levi, Hange, all the Commanders of every Military Branch, Floch, and many other soldiers of the Yeagerists.
Armin, his best man, stood by the archway next to Eren. Both were wearing black tuxedos.
Historia's bridesmaids were Sasha, Mikasa, Mina and Hange.
Ymir was, of course, Historia's maid of honor.
As the bridesmaid's dresses cascaded in a rich and enchanting burgundy hue, Mina's hair was elegantly styled in an intricate updo, exuding an air of regality reminiscent of a fairy-tale princess. Armin's gaze lifted towards her, his cheeks flushed with a subtle yet endearing blush, only to be met with Mina's reciprocal blush and radiant smile.
"Are you nervous, Eren?" asked Armin softly. "Not at all," Eren replied; it was the truth, too. He had no reason to be nervous at all.
This was Historia...the woman he loved. The woman he's known since they were nine years old.
Levi watched the wedding with a smile on his face. Right now, he allowed himself to feel the smallest bit of joy, but as his eyes fell on Hange, he looked away; the rest of his team were present. The pain of losing Gunther was still present in their faces. Levi always tried to keep it inside but knew Gunther wouldn't be the last. I hope all will be worth it in the end, Levi thought as he drank tea from his cup. Unlike everyone else drowning themselves in alcohol, Levi drank tea as usual. The Monkey Titan had tried to convince him to drink the 'Black Tea,' as Armin called it, but Levi didn't want to touch anything that came from him.
As the soft melody of the music filled the air, the guests rose from their seats in anticipation, creating a hushed atmosphere of excitement. Eren's breath caught in his throat as he caught sight of her - Historia, radiant and resplendent in her exquisite wedding gown, a vision of beauty. Alongside her, Commander Erwin escorted her down the aisle. Eren's pulse quickened, his eyes fixed on Historia, his heart racing with a mixture of awe and longing.
"Eren...she's beautiful," Armin smiled, Eren was speechless.
Historia blushed and made eye contact with Eren as they walked slowly up. She smiled, and so did Eren, both of them totally relaxed.
Her heart skipped several beats as she kept her eyes on Eren. When they finally reached him, Commander Erwin placed Historia's hand into Eren's.
Historia took Eren's hands as they faced each other, both blushing and smiling.
"You're so beautiful, Historia..." Eren mused softly. More color reached Historia's cheeks as everyone sat down, the preacher coming over.
"I understand you have your own vows to reside, Eren why don't you go first?" he asked kindly.
Eren took a deep breath, gazing into Historia's eyes.
"Historia...ever since the day I first met you...all those years ago, my entire life changed. You were always so kind to everyone, but sometimes you always showed your fierce side. You are very kind and fearless. I love that about you, Historia..I promise to always be there for you. In sickness and health. I love you Historia, with all my heart," Eren smiled sweetly.
Historia tearfully smiled back, looking down for a second before looking back at Eren.
"You helped me live Eren, you helped me recover from my past. But you did more than that. YOU gave me something new to live for, Eren. And through you, I found so many friends. Eren...Thank you. Thank you so much...for helping me live...I love you so much..." Historia said passionately with every word.
"I now pronounce you both husband and wife," the preacher said. Eren and Historia smiled softly and then kissed.
Their kiss was sweet and tender as Historia wrapped her arms around his neck, and Eren held her close, the guests clapping.
Mina sniffed, wiping her eyes, while Ymir was also crying tears of joy, Sasha wrapping her arm around her.
Mikasa was straight up sobbing while Armin grinned, happy for his friends.
Underneath the expansive shelter of the grand canopy tent, there existed ample space to comfortably accommodate approximately fifty individuals, creating an inviting and enchanting atmosphere. Adorning the interior were exquisite circular tables, each elegantly draped with luxurious silk white tablecloths that gracefully cascaded down to the floor.
At the center of every table they have sat a stunning centerpiece, boasting a harmonious blend of vibrant flowers and softly flickering candles, casting a warm, ethereal glow throughout the space. The ground beneath their feet was not the typical grassy terrain; instead, a meticulously laid tile floor had been artfully installed, adding a touch of sophistication and transforming the tent into a captivating venue for gatherings and celebrations.
Positioned closer to the periphery of the tent, the circular tables created a sense of intimacy, allowing for a spacious dance floor to dominate the center stage. Adjacent to these tables, on the left side, stood a grand buffet table adorned with the pièce de résistance of the evening—a stunning wedding cake. Adding to the ambiance were delicate strings of twinkling lights draping elegantly along the tent's edges, casting a warm glow from above. Complementing this ethereal display were clusters of exquisite white and golden balloons floating gracefully in the air.
Outside in the yard were more tables with the same centerpieces and candles. The buffet was huge, much to Sasha's delight, and there were also countless desserts. Plus, all kinds of drinks. The music playing was beautiful as well. It was well into the evening after their first dance and cutting the cakening.
"I'm so happy for you, Historia!" Mina beamed; she and Historia danced while Eren and Armin had some food at the buffet table.
"Mina, I was wondering...when are you and Armin..." Historia began to ask then. Mina turned bright red. "What? Armin and me? Married? Historia come on...that's...I mean...he hasn't proposed yet so..." Mina was turning redder and redder.
Historia chuckled. "He'll ask soon, don't worry Mina," she assured her best friend. Mina looked down softly.
"I honestly wonder that..." she muttered. "What?" asked Historia. "Oh nothing!" Mina forced a smile, brushing off the topic.
At the buffet table, Sasha was eating all she could grab. "Sasha, there isn't gonna be any food left!" Connie shouted in horror, seeing her eat as if she was starving.
"Who cares!" Sasha replied, stuffing her face.
"Okay Armin, spill it. When do you plan on proposing to Mina?" Eren asked, grinning, the two having cake. Armin turned red.
"Huh? What? Well...that's um..." Armin started nervously. Eren sighed before shaking his head.
"Come on, Armin! You two have known each other since the Training Corps! Mina loves you," Eren said, trying to encourage him; they were soon approached by Jean and Connie, who both had their hands on glasses full of wine.
"T-The S-Suicidal Bastard is right, Armando; you should go there and propose to Mina right now." Jean encouraged, tripping a little on his words as he talked. Armin turned bright red before shaking his head.
"Absolutely not. I-I will when I feel ready."
The Captains and the Commanders were sitting around a round table, with Pyxis already being deep into his cups. Captain Levi remained mostly silent as Hange started talking some nonsense about Jumping Titans and other weird shit that only someone like her could come up with; his eyes often checked Zeke, who was sitting around a round table with his Squad.
Levi wondered where Kenny was; he knew the old man was still lurking around, perhaps to protect Historia.
Eren walked away from the others and approached Zeke, who seemed to be talking with the Levi Squad. "Why would you drink something so sour?" Oluo questioned with disgust as Zeke took a sip from his cup.
"It takes time to get used to it, but it is very refreshing in the morning," Zeke explained as he offered black tea to the others. Oluo seemed skeptical, but Eld shrugged his shoulders and drank some from the cup that Zeke poured.
Eld looked deep in thought as he took several more sips, trying to figure out whether he liked the taste. "I actually like it." He eventually said as he drank more black tea. "Coffee. I think I wouldn't mind more." Eld said when he noticed Eren approaching, as did the others when they heard him.
"Oi, Eren. What are you doing here?" Eld quickly demanded, but Eren stopped walking and looked at Zeke.
"How are you doing, Zeke?" He asked casually. The Shifter seemed taken aback, but he smiled a genuine one.
"I'm doing Fine, Eren. I'm happy to see you married. I don't know her well, but I can see from her eyes that she loves you. I wish you both a long, happy life." He said with the same smile; Eren smiled back.
"I hope we are treating you well." Eren said with a voice as if he had known him for a very long time.
"Much better than Marley would have treated me, so I can't really complain. I hope you are having fun at the wedding." Zeke said; he seemed to want to get closer to him but knew better since Levi was watching him like a hawk.
"It is one of the best days of my life. See you later, big brother." He said before walking away. Eld observed with narrowed eyes. Zeke now seemed much happier than he was a minute ago.
.
.
As the wedding came to an end. Historia and Eren found themselves in their new chambers. After a little struggle, they removed each other's clothes, their eyes locked, before sharing a kiss.
Eight Days Later
After their Honeymoon. Eren and Historia once again found themselves at the center of all attention. Amidst the grandeur of the castle's main hall, a bustling gathering of distinguished military figures, accompanied by their entourage of loyal friends, congregated in admiration as they observed a prominent figure. Among the esteemed crowd stood Kenny, positioned next to Levi, who exuded a subtle air of annoyance at his presence.
As Eren and Historia ascended the grand staircase adorned with intricate carvings that gracefully led to the thrones in the vast hall, they were met by the authoritative presence of Commander Erwin, Commander Pyxis, Commander Nile, and War Chief Zachary. With every step they took, the air grew heavy with anticipation until they finally reached the top, where the four esteemed leaders stood solemnly, awaiting their approach. Eren and Historia bowed their heads.
Commander Erwin placed the Crown on Historia's head, while Zachary placed another crown on Eren's head.
The crown worn by Historia was a delicate band of shimmering gold, a modest circlet devoid of embellishments yet bearing the distinctive sigils of the three towering walls that encircled her kingdom. Wall Sina, its emblem gleaming with authority, is positioned prominently at the forefront, while on the left side, the emblem of Wall Rose guarding its people with unwavering dedication. Completing this regal adornment on the right side was the emblem of Wall Maria.
Eren wore a regal circular crown crafted from shimmering gold, adorned with nine exquisite rubies meticulously cut into perfect circles. Each ruby symbolized one of the Nine Titans, while the crown itself bore the intricately carved sigils of the three Military Branches.
Amongst the crowd, many looked at the new rulers with awe.
"As small as she is, she still saved us from the Titan?"
"Her father ruled as king from the shadows, but they brought his tyranny to an end."
"He saved us from The Colossal and Armoured Titan."
"He sealed the Wall with the Boulder."
"He is the reason why we have so many Titan Shifters in our Side!"
"Long live the true ruler of the walls."
"Love live Queen Historia and King Eren." The crowd cheered the moment the two new monarchs turned around to face them. The entire hall boomed with the sound of their celebration. Armin and Mikasa looked in awe at the sight of Eren. Connie and Sasha were applauding the loudest while Jean clapped his hands normally while trying to keep the two in control.
Eren looked forward with unwavering determination. Now, the time had come for the Final Part of his Plan. His green eyes glittered like gems as he reached out and held Historia's Hand, their fingers intertwined. Together. All Eldians. They all would be Free.
Suddenly, Eren felt a shot of electricity as images of the past flew by too fast for him to understand when a voice echoed in his head.
"Her blood. Dina's Blood is the Key. Remember That."
