Chapter 43: Ivan
Nevena looked at me like I was a crazy person for a few uncomfortable seconds, but I didn’t back down under her dominating gaze.
“You have got to be kidding me,” she said and I could tell that she meant it.
“No, I am not,” I said. “Because it’s all in the prophecy concerning you. The Prophecy of the Forbidden and, more specific, the Forbidden Child. You.”
“I still don’t know what that means,” said Nevena. “You keep forgetting I’m not part of this world.”
“But you are,” I said and I smiled at her. “You’re a crucial part of this world, Nevena. I knew that you were important, but I didn’t know exactly how important you really were. You are the savior of our culture that a lot of us have been hoping for.”
“You said ‘a lot of us’. That means that not everybody is on board with these changes that I’m supposed to bring upon.”
