Chapter fifty six : The New Queen

Heaven Alizah Dianne's pov:

Although Eugene is looking like the happiest king alive right now, l know that this all an act. Once we are alone, the grumpy and annoying king will resurface again. 

"I'm sorry it took me so long to give you a queen. But now Heavens has blessed me with a mate. And she will be the queen of this great kingdom. And now the moment you have all been waiting for. I present to you Heaven Alizah Dianne Spencer, YOUR NEW QUEEN" he shouted at the last part. 

And immediately, everyone in the hall kneeled and bowed their heads. "LONG LIVE THE QUEEN" they all shouted. Mixture of feelings clouded me. Guilt, because l've taken a position that isn't mine. Happy, because l feel good about the situation. Sad, because..this is not the life l want. But some how l feel satisfied too. I really don't know what is wrong with me. 

"All rise" l shouted. And everyone stood up. I don't want to make a speech, because Eugene and his mother will misunderstand. Like mother like son. Those two, have trust issues. 

Eugene squeezed my hand a little, making me turn to him.  "Are you okay?,  you are spacing out" He mindlinked me.  "I'm alright. Just thinking about home" l replied. He nodded and faced the crowd in front of us. Wait?, Did he just asked if l'm okay in a polite way?. I guess he isn't always annoying and heartless after all. 

Lucas stepped forward. "And now it's time for those who would like to challenge the queen  to step out" he said.

"Is there anyone who wants to challenge the queen?" Eugene shouted. I think he did that so as to scare them. 

Samantha was the first to come forward. " I Samantha challenge her".

And another lady stepped forward.  "I Bella challenge her". 

"I Catherine challenge her". 

"I Nora challenge her". 

"I Anna challenge her". 

"I Clara challenge her". 

"That's it? Just six girls?" said my vampire, Venice. Yeah l'm surprised too. I know there are a lot of girls in the kingdom that wants to become the queen. So l was expecting at least twenty challengers. What a disappointment. 

"Is there anyone else?" Eugene asked. I can hear the anger in his voice. I guess that's why no one came out again. 

"Then the fight shall be held on Tuesday" he said. That seven days from now. Everyone bowed to him, meaning that the date is favourable. And without any word he left the hall. Why is he mad?. I'm not a weakling. 

I looked at the elders, they are all glaring at me except three of them. If looks could kill, l'd be six feet deep in the ground. Now l understand why the past queens are very wary of them. If they think they can intimidate me just like that, then they have it wrong . I met their deadly gaze and smirked dangerously. That caught them off guard. Well let's see how they will like this. 

I entered their minds and whispered, "see you around my dear elders. Have a good night". The looks on their faces is priceless. And with that, I left the hall too. I don't feel tired, so l'll just walk around the palace. As l walked through the long hall ways, the maids greeted me. I just ignored them. It's not like l'm being rude or something. It's just that how many of them can l respond to?. 

I went to my favourite garden. The garden made by a spirit. I call it that because l don't remember it's name. I'll just call it the The Spirit Garden. I entered it and lay on the swing in it.  I closed my eyes and tried to sense where Eugene is. 

He is in his study. Still fuming. I just hope he is angry enough not to ask me to come to his room. 

"Who are you?" I heard a kid said. I opened my eyes and l saw a boy looking at me with such innocent eyes. He looks like he is five to six years old. I smiled and signed for him to come. 

He nodded and took a few steps forward. "Hey there little fella. What's your name?" I asked as l caressed his cheeks. 

"My name is Nathan" he said. Such a cute child. 

"My name Heaven Alizah Dianne. But you can just call me Sister Heaven or Aunt Alizah". 

He chuckled, "your name is beautiful just like you". 

At such a young age he's such a charmer. 

Then, we heard someone called him. "Nathan, where are you?" 

"I'm over here" Nathan shouted back. After a while Troy found us.  "My queen" he rushed to hug me. I ruffled his hair. "Missed me kiddo?" 

"You have no idea" he said. 

"Queen?. You are queen" said Nathan, he was quite surprised. 

"You guys should just call Sister Heaven or Aunt Alizah. I prefer that" l said .
