The training weeks went by fairly fast as we all improved on our skills. With the increased patrols it seemed like the threat had backed off for now, knowing they were out numbered. Soon enough it was time to go back to classes, I'll admit I was exhausted from the past two weeks. I was ready to go back to campus, except this time as the young luna. Living at the pack house was more fun this time around Finn had been making good on his promise and had become more attentive as a mate. Fallon and I both loved the new attention he was giving us.
The first day back, I got ready making sure I looked my best putting on a sleek black V-neck shirt and some skinny jeans. Once I was satisfied I headed down to the kitchen to grab breakfast. Since we had been staying here my mom had become some what of a leader of the kitchen staff, usually helping to make breakfast.
"Morning sweetie, I have a plate of waffles for you." my mom smiled and handed me it.
"Thanks, where is everyone today?" I asked surprised there was only half the normal number of people sitting at the table.
"Most everyone has left for the day. Sit, eat. Finn will be back soon." she said going back to cooking.
"Back? Where'd he go?" I asked confused, it was only seven classes didn't start for another hour.
"I had to go and get these." his deep voice startled me, I hadn't even heard him come in. He was carrying a bouquet of red roses and sunflowers.
Smiling he handed them to me as I stood up to give him a small kiss on the cheek. I still wasn't use to showing affection in front of people let alone my mom.
"Almost ready to go?" he asked as he took a seat next to me.
"Yeah, just going to finish eating and we can head out." I gave him a big smile before smelling the flowers.
"Where are you to off to this early?" my mom said barely looking up from her work.
"We're going to meet Val and everyone before class. Setting up a plan for this weekend." I said before taking a bite of my waffle.
She just nodded and went back to her work. She has been keeping busy with helping out but I could tell something has been on her mind these past couple weeks. I'm sure she will talk about it when its time, especially with everything that has been going on with the fall festival coming up as well as the rouges. I finished my waffles and gave her a hug before Finn and I headed off to school. Living closer to school was definitely a plus although I did miss my room and privacy of the our house.
When we got there everyone was sitting on our usual spot except a few more members had joined my little trio. Val and Dustin sat happily together chatting with Ash and Emma. They all greeted us as we walked over, smiling I waved back excitedly.
"Okay so we need to go shopping." Val groaned at Emma and me. "I need a new dress for this weekend, none of my other ones feel right for the club." I shook my head knowing she had plenty to choose from.
"Oh, you know what I think I know a place." I said she looked confused for a moment but her face lit up when she realized what I meant.
"Mel's on main?" she stood up excitedly "Can we go today?" looking like she was about to burst I put my hand on her shoulder.
"Yes, Emma would you like to come?" I peeked past Val to see her.
"Yeah, sounds like fun?" the confusion on her face, I'm sure she was trying to figure out where exactly on the lands that was.
"I've never heard of that store, where is it?" Ash said looking concerned.
"Oh its not to far from... From the edge of the pack lands its new." I said trying not to alarm them, Finn stiffened at my side tightening his grip on my hand. "We'll be fine, your looking at the second rink champ here." letting go of his hand I threw mock jabs at him bouncing on my toes like a boxer.
Everyone laughed but Finn's face stayed unchanged, no doubt he was worried there would be an attack. Each time I go near the edge of the lands there is always trouble he had said to me after one of the strategy meetings we had. Reaching up I caressed his cheek hoping it would falter his sour mood, it didn't. I gave him a small smile just as the loud bell rang letting everyone know the campus was open and classes would start soon. Ash walked up to me earning a small possessive growl from Finn, Ash had definitely gotten use to it at this point and just brushed it off.
"Ready to go?" Ash asked me starting to sweat from the intensity of Finn's gaze.
"Yeah, lets go. I'll see you when I get home tonight?" I turned to ask Finn he nodded giving me a small kiss on my forehead before stalking off after the rest of the group.
"He really doesn't like me." Ash let out a small sigh.
"He'll come around, he doesn't like any guy near me to be honest." I reassured him as we started towards the class we shared.
"Talk about toxic." he rolled his eyes, "So this store, its not here is it. Its where you ran off to last time, don't act like Val wouldn't tell me." he gave me a small smile.
"Yeah, do you want to come?" I asked hopeful that he wasn't mad at me for not spending to much time with him recently.
"And deal with Val in and out of the dressing room?" he looked down to see I was giving him a puppy dog look, "Fine I'll come but if I get attacked by your guard wolf your paying for my funeral." I nodded laughing at him.
We got to class and took our usual seats in the back. The professor welcomed everyone back and went on about his lesson. I tried my best to pay attention but I was to excited to go out later today, I had a really good feeling about going to see Mel today. When it was finally over I left Ash and went to my next class barely noticing people as I walked by until I was bumped into by some one snapping me out of my trance.
"Watch where your going b*tch." Jess's cold indifferent voice shot at me, her little groupies laughing at her words.
"Watch who your talking to." I said growling slightly at her.
"Just because your mate is an alpha doesn't mean you are." she spat back at me.
"Wanna find out?" I plastered a big smile on my face knowing Fallon was already taking over slightly showing herself in my eyes.
They kind of shuffled behind her but I could see her squirm a little to. I laughed and turned around, that was more than enough for me. With that little win the rest of the day went by fast. At the end I met up with the group and headed towards the pack edge, when we got there I could see Emma get a little nervous. I patted her shoulder giving her some reassurance.
Once we made it through the forest I lead them the short walk to the shop. When we entered Mel jumped up and hugged me.
"You came back! And you brought friends." she chirped eying the group carefully.
"I told you I'd be back." I hugged her back but when I let go her eyes went wide.
"Mate." Ash whispered from the back of the group, causing all of our heads to snap back to him.
"Uhh.. Ladies follow me I have the perfect dresses for you." she said still staring at him.
They followed her as she brought out dresses that matched them perfectly. Val had a white dress with a deep V-neck that accented her curves perfectly. Where as Emma was in a soft flowy pink dress, both wearing cute nude heels. Both Ash and I gasped as they walked out to show us.
"Mel. your amazing they look incredible!" I chirped when I saw them.
"Your wearing your dress for what ever is going on?" she asked looking at me eyeing me up.
"Yes I haven't had the chance yet." I gave her a sorrowful smile, she just nodded knowingly.
"I'm sorry hun, we don't sell men's clothes at this boutique." she said staring longingly at Ash.
"T... That is okay, I'm here to carry the bags." Ash said trying his best to sound cool. Both Val and I laughed at the strain in his voice.
