Seo-yeon and Ma-ri looked shocked as they stared unblinkingly at the door which Ge-un had exited from.
Who paid for his bills? Seo-yeon just wanted to cry out when she heard the news but she held herself, whether it was tears of joy or sorrow? She couldn't tell, she just wanted to know who had paid her son's bill.
"I'll talk to Ge-un. I'll be back." Ma-ri stood up and walked out of the ward while Seo-yeon moved closer to her son's bedside, still dazed about the sudden miracle.
"Whoever did that, I owe the person a lot. Ji-hoon, I'm so glad you won't be leaving me after all." A drop of Seo-yeon's tears fell on her son's cheeks and he opened his eyes slightly.
"Momma…what's wrong…" His sleepy voice called out, filled with concern. Seo-yeon adjusted herself immediately when her son suddenly woke up and she smiled tenderly, her eyes glistening with a ray of hope.
"Nothing sweetheart. Come on, go back to sleep." She kissed his cheeks lovingly and he nodded before going back to sleep.
"He refused to tell me or give me the details. I couldn't find the time the sender sent the money either so maybe I can locate him." Ma-ri walked in with a frustrated look.
Seo-yeon could tell she just punched the hell out of Ge-un because he refused to tell her. Seo-yeon would actually pity the poor man if his girlfriend ends up beating him up someday.
Although it wouldn't really hurt him because since it's just a playful beating, they were still powerful punches.
Ma-ri took classes on martial arts and other self defense classes. No one back then dared to mess with them— Eun-ji, Seo-yeon and Ma-ri— Eun-ji was the silent one, Seo-yeon was the badass one and Ma-ri was the one who beat guys up.
Seo-yeon smiled as she remembered highschool days.
"Why are you smiling like that?" Ma-ri pulled her out of her thoughts and Seo-yeon looked up at her.
"I was remembering back in highschool when you had the reputation for beating boys up. It was only Ge-un who still had the mind to run after you despite you being a freak…"
Ma-ri shrugged with a pleased look on her face, "technically, he was scared of me at first. It was after our first kiss together back then he started running after me because he couldn't get me out of his head." Ma-ri smirked and took a look at the screen of her phone.
"Bummer, tonight…. Oh bummer, our anniversary."
"Oh my. I'm so sorry for keeping you occupied." Seo-yeon gasped.
"It's nothing. My dress would just be delivered in a few minutes anyways. Those memories are sweet one don't you think? I didn't accept it till we totally finished college. Isn't that wicked of me?" Ma-ri grinned, making Seo-yeon laugh.
"He did have your time, don't you think? He ran after you for six years and now it's time to mark your sixth year together. I wish I could get you something…"
"Oh don't bother Seo-yeon…" A nurse quietly walked in and handed Ma-ri her ordered dress. "Your friendship is enough for both of us."
A smile appeared on Seo-yeon's lips and she nodded. Her thoughts wandered back to the person who paid for Ji-hoon's bills? Who knew she had a son? Nobody knows about her son, not even her workers.
"I'm going to owe that person who paid for Ji-hoon's bills a lot." Seo-yeon mumbled as Ma-ri walked out of the bathroom in the hot red dress she had ordered. Her hair was still down and she had her hair band held together between her lips as she tried to adjust the dress to fit her figure perfectly.
"I'll be here for you then. That's why you need to work….any type of work as long as it pays well Seo-yeon…" Ma-ri groaned as she tried to put her hair up.
"Come here." Seo-yeon grabbed her arm, sitting her down and she helped her with her hair.
"Ohh…you're willingly helping me with my hair now. I remembered back then that you never help me with it even though I'm going on a date…."
"Because all your dates were all fake. I can't count the amount of guys you've broken their hearts on your first dates together. You should have just told them no immediately they ask you." Seo-yeon gave her a playful knock on the head.
"Ouch…. what's the fun in that uhn?" Ma-ri pouted. "It's no fun at all."
"I am just glad no one did that to you. I'm glad Ge-un truly loves you. Or else I'm sure once that happens, your whole room would be flooded with tears." Seo-yeon smirked, putting a hair clip into Ma-ri's hair.
"I would just drink my heart out, no biggie." Ma-ri smirked. "Well then I can cry after that but trust me after that, I'll sleep and eat it out."
"I wonder where all the food you eat stays. You eat a lot and yet you're fit." Seo-yeon raised a brow.
"My boyfriend is a doctor, what do you expect? Although he allows me to eat junk food the way I like, I also suffer from exercises and drugs." Ma-ri groaned. "It's pure wickedness but he's going to say he can't have a wife who is too big for him to handle and that's the way I've been eating since I was a kid."
"Well technically, when I met you back in grade five, you didn't eat much. It was when you returned from Jamaica after we started middle school you started eating that much." Seo-yeon pulled her up, turning her to face the mirror and she checked her hair out.
"Amazing. I don't know why you didn't open a hair salon in the first place." Ma-ri looked at her beautifully decorated hair which didn't take Seo-yeon up to fifteen minutes.
"It's almost six pm. Get out there, you last being." Seo-yeon pushed her and she groaned.
"Ma-ri, you done yet?" Ge-un walked in and stared at the beauty in front of him. He too was dressed in a white suit with red tie.
"Wow. You guys fit perfectly. Why don't you two get going? I've wasted your time enough for today." Seo-yeon smirked as she looked at Ma-ri's expression. She was blushing.
A smirk appeared on Seo-yeon's lips as a thought flashed in her head. For the first time ever she saw her freak of a friend blush.
