Surviving the Cataclysm as a Werewolf

As Derek walked out of the class, he saw Susan standing outside the door, seeing him she came closer and spoke:

" We need to talk, cupcake. "

" Let's go to the cafeteria. " Derek replied and began to walk with Susan following behind him closely.

"..."

Amy watched him walk away with another girl, she couldn't understand what she should do to make him believe her again, and after what happened yesterday, the distance between them increased even further.

But she was not one to give up so easily, with a determined look, she took out her phone and called her father.

" Dad, I want you to do something for me. "

Derek ordered some food for himself and Susan, as they sat face to face, all the students present in the cafe were staring at them, boys with jealousy and girls with curiosity.

" Tell me, what do you want to talk about? " Derek got straight to the point.

Susan pouted, she could feel that he was acting a little distant from her, she looked into his eyes and spoke: " I don't know what happened yesterday, but believe me that it wasn't my intention at all. "

" Yeah, I'm aware of that, anything else? " he said indifferently.

" You know? Then do you also know the reason why I was acting like that? " she asked in confusion.

" Yes, but I can't tell you," he replied.

" Fine, but why are you acting like that? " Susan said stretching her finger towards him.

" Acting like what? " he asked and let her hold his hand.

" You seem cold and a bit short-tempered, I mean more than before. " she held his hand between her soft palm.

" It's nothing, and what was that about cupcake? " Derek asked changing the subject.

" It's your pet name because you were so tasty and sweet," she replied with a seductive smile.

" Is there anything else you want to talk about? " Derek asked again, he was having trouble controlling his anger, just the smallest things were making him angry.

" See, you weren't so cold the last time I saw you, and then you suddenly disappeared," she said and then continued:

" Anyway, there is something else I want to tell you, remember the day we went to that cafe? "

Seeing him nod, Susan spoke: " On that day, someone from our wolf tribe killed the youngest Vampire prince, along with many other vampires. "

Derek threw out the water he had just drank, he stared at her face as the scene of the white room resurfaced in his mind. Squeezing her hand, he asks:

" W-Who killed them and where were they killed? "

" No one knows who killed them, but apparently it's a Luna, not any male wolf. " Susan replied.

Derek breathed in a deep breath, both his mind and body finally relaxing, but her next words almost gave him a heart attack:

" They were all found in a white room, that they used for meeting secretly. I've seen the photos of that place and believe me, it was a mess. " Susan said while picking up her mobile.

" Do you want to see? "

" No, but why are you telling me all this? " He asked.

" It might be dangerous for us at night, out there since leeches will be roaming around for quite some time now. " She warned.

" Oh, alright I get it, thanks for telling me. " Derek said, he tried pulling his hand back but failed as Susan tightened her grip.

" Why don't we go on a date? " she asked.

Derek sighed loudly, he looked at her indifferently and spoke: " Look Susan, you might have known me for a very long time, but you're a stranger to me, so I can't act all lovey-dovey towards you, you understand? "

Susan's expression changed visibly, her grip on his hand loosened, her eyes staring at his face intently. Derek knew his words must have hurt her, but he just didn't feel ready for a new relationship yet, when his only relationship ended in such a bad way.

" I understand, you need some time and you want to know more about me before we can start anything. " Susan said.

" Ye- " Derek nodded.

" That's why I'm saying, let's go on a date, cupcakes. " Susan's playful tone returned, as she stood up and planted a kiss on his cheek, her warm red lips pressing tight against his cheek.

Everyone in the cafe stared at them with wide eyes, all the boys were about to rush there and pound on Derek, as they chewed their fingers in frustration.

*BANG*

The food tray fell onto the ground from Kenny's hand, as he stared at his roommate/friend, who just got a kiss from the most beautiful girl on the campus.

" What are you doing? " Derek asked.

" Will you go on a date? If you refuse again, I'll give you a passionate kiss just like last time, in front of everyone. " Susan said, daring him to refuse. Before she didn't want him to say no to going on a date with her, but now she wanted him to say no.

"..."

Derek looked around and saw that everyone was staring at the two of them, he decided to go along with her request for now, or his friends would never leave him alone.

" Fine, I'll go on a date," he promised.

" That's my cupcakes, also your stupid ex is not troubling you, is she? Just say the word and I'll deal with her. " Susan said, as she glanced at all the girls who were watching them from another tables.

" No, I'm fine, let's meet later. " Derek said.

*RING*

Derek's phone began to ring, he took out his mobile and read the caller's description.

" Honey? Who is it- " Derek started at his mobile screen in confusion.

*Click*

Susan cut the call and said: " That's my number, I'll call you later. " after saying that, she gave him a flying kiss and then walked out of the cafe, before leaving she turned and sent a message to Derek.

*DING*

' You're mine!! ' reading the message Derek sighed.

" When did she save her number on my mobile? " Derek wondered, then remembering that he still needed to call his older sister, Derek dialled her number.

...

" Hello Fiona, why were you calling me? " Derek asked after the call connected.

" Dad wants you to return back to home, and don't call me by my name. " Fiona joked.

" But sis, why does dad want to see me? " he asked.

" You are already aware of our true identity, right? There's something important Dad wants to talk to you about, so come here tomorrow," she said.

" Okay, see you tomorrow. " after saying goodbye, he cut the call and finally looked around.
