An Introduction To A Brand New Era

When everyone's attention was entirely fixed on the meteors' trajectory outside the dome, they witnessed in shock as one of the meteors was halted midway and exploded in the air immediately. The same case was applied to some meteors, clouding the whole skies in the dust.

Other than guessing there might be another dome, Kyle couldn't think of any possible reason for the meteors' abrupt destruction.

Just when Kyle wanted to observe further, the dome's illusory walls suddenly added another scarlet layer that obstructed people from seeing the outside world condition.

Following that, another ray was unleashed from the giant monolith. A person's figure gradually shapes up from the beam, looking like a hologram scene from a movie.

In a couple of seconds, the beam condensed into a figure of a person wearing a long cloak. His face remained hidden under the veil, but everyone could sense his unblemished charisma.

Seeing this, the majority of people, including Kyle, were both frightened and appalled.

In spite of being the center of people's judgment look, the person looks apathetic and tranquil. Suddenly, he moved his hand and flicked his fingers.

*Chi* *Chi*

A complex scarlet rune abruptly appears beneath everyone's feet without prior notice.

Before they had an opportunity to comprehend the event's development, their vision first blurred before it was screened by a faint crimson red.

When they became aware of what just happened, they shockingly found that they were already standing close to each other in the track field, just right near the monolith.

'W-what? Did I just get teleported?' Kai thought in bewilderment. He was standing in front of the dormitory building when suddenly his eyes obfuscated. In a blink of an eye, he's now standing on the track field along with other students.

Previously, he could only observe the giant monolith from a distance and estimated it was just as big as a house. However, as he gets teleported closer to the monolith, he finally learns how little he was in the presence of such a massive object.

Atop the monolith, the mysterious person was seen hovering majestically.

"Hello, humans. I'm certain you've all understood that the Earth is presently on the verge of destruction. The meteors shower you just witnessed a while ago was just the beginning." The mysterious person informed.

"What? That was just the beginning?"

"F*ck! Don't joke with me! Since when are scientists unable to detect such a huge lethal phenomenon beforehand?"

"I want to meet my family!"

Various curses and complaints were directed at the mysterious person opposite them.

Kyle, who watched such a spectacle, couldn't help but feel a tinge of irony. It was already fortunate they didn't die in the previous meteor impact, and now they were cursing over their benefactor? Was receiving excessive tremors from the earthquake causing their heads to lose some screws?

He was expecting security guards or members of the students association would make a move on them soon.

And he guessed it right. Some members of the students association instantly silenced those students who talked rudely earlier.

The mysterious person seems unaffected by the commotion and continues his explanation in an indifferent tone, "Currently, the Earth is getting invaded by beings from a foreign world, and would soon plunge into chaos. A few hours later, no, perhaps, a couple of hours later, the second wave of meteors would rain on the Earth. At that moment, monsters from various races would arrive and try to conquer every land they voyaged on."

After the man finished talking, there seemed to be brilliant radiances originating from everyone's wrist.

Kyle was a little startled to see a transparent band was suddenly attached to his left wrist.

"To ensure humanity won't be wiped out, I've given you a little gift that would greatly assist you. An item that I, The Great Godking Roshan, spent years in meticulous research and adjustment, Matrix Band."

"Matrix Band had many features installed inside. Its primary function is to display the user's detailed information in a game-like form, which I believe all of you must be extremely familiar with. You may try summoning your status window by sheer thought."

Following the person's guidance, Kyle started to organize his thoughts. That instant, the status window like-game materialized from his left wrist.

Back to reality, Kyle's eyes swiftly skimmed through his body's information and frowned. He didn't know whether his stat was terrible or not since he couldn't glimpse others' stats to compare.

It would be weird for him to ask strangers for their status as such information could be regarded as heavily related to their privacy, and it was taboo to talk about it.

However, based on his experience playing games, it was safe to assume that his base stats were starting pretty bad.

They are all below five! He understands that he seldom exercises, but two points on endurance? Really? He was confident that he could run two laps without stopping in his present condition. Then, does it mean someone with ten points in endurance can run ten laps straight away? That'll be monstrous stamina, right there.

Roshan's body gradually dissipated, and the surrounding dome's wall returned to normal. The track field was in total silence.
