Chapter 20

After reaching the area where my new laboratory is, which is one of the more secure areas, thanks to its rich inhabitants, I get out of my mirror dimension inside one of the near alleys and then head towards it.

In front of me is what looks like a normal house that a rich family could easily buy, two floors, a simple front garden surrounded by a 2 meters high wall, and on its sides other similar-looking houses.

But that was simply a cover, ok actually the house was a house,e that I had also bought, but under it, there was a laboratory filled with different instruments I could use for my experiments, but it wasn't exactly legal, so I had to buy through the deep web, using the account I had to create to receive contracts.

Before going inside I activate heat vision to check if anyone was inside, but when I saw no living being inside, I took out a pair of glasses from my pocket, but they were inside my inventory, and put them on.

Using technomancy see, I added an effect to the glasses, making me able to see the movement of electricity, inside the house, when I saw that part from the ones outside, inside the house, there were no cameras or microphones, I finally got inside, putting the glasses back inside the inventory only when I was inside the house.

The inside of the house was empty, I bought the house, but no furniture, not like I need them, but maybe buying some furniture can help me cover help the actual function of this house, maybe later, for now, I need the money for more important things.

I didn't waste time and using the same glasses from before, I change the effect from seeing electricity to X-ray vision, the laboratory like it was written online, was two floors lower than where I am now.

I head towards the canteen, it also being empty, and head towards one of the walls, I press on one precis brick, which unlike what a brick should do, moved inside the wall, and the wall suddenly began moving to the side, showing the ladders that would conduce me towards the laboratory.

I click the button on the other side of the wall and let the wall close behind me.

I turn off the X-ray vision and activate a night vision effect, making me able to see perfectly, and when I reached the laboratory, I removed the effect and turned on the light of the laboratory.

In front of me, the exact definition of an evil genius scientist's laboratory could be seen, the vibe it gave wasn't exactly good, mostly because of the small stain of blood that could be seen on one of the walls.

I ignored it, and instead took out my computer, and connected it to the cameras outside the house so that if someone were too near to my house I would know, and I could get out of there.

I crack my knuckles and take out the zombie samples I had been inside my inventory until now.

I approach one of the microscopes, and using telekinesis I bring here all the instruments I need for the incoming experiment.

A scalpel, glasses to hold the samples, gloves, and something to cover my mouth and eyes.

The first thing I experimented on was the flesh, using the scalpel I removed a small piece and I squeezed it between the glasses, then I put them under the microscopes, and using technomancy I amplified the maximum visibility of it by 10 times, and also gave it an effect to immediately recognize any form of organisms that weren't supposed to be in the human flesh.

After studying for 5 minutes, I wasn't able to discover any organism, but I discovered that the speed with which the body was rotting had multiplied by 10 times, if a normal body took between 24-72 hours to rot, this one took less then a day to reach a putrid state.

My next experiment was to see if by infusing it with mana anything changed, and to my surprise, I discovered that when coming in contact with it, the rotting effect had slowed down by 1%.

' So if I can find a way to manipulate mana so that it can either reverse or slow down the rotting of the body, I can then create medicine with a strong enough regenerative power to reverse the rotting of the body, but that would only remove the problem with their look, their last for human flesh remains since it is a problem lying in their brain, or that is what I think.'

Wanting to confirm my theory, I take the brain sample I had collected, which looked more like a very dense soup, and put it under the microscope.

And after studying it for more than half an hour, I finally found out what I was looking for.

'So that's the problem, an organism even smaller than a human nerve, just bigger than an atom, constantly putting what looks like a poison inside the brain, unfortunately, I currently have no way to divide this organism from the rest of the brain, so I need to find a way to either create an antidote to this poison or a way to eliminate the organism.'

Before that though, I studied, the blood, the heart, and the bone marrow, and I luckily did, I found that the poison in the brain, was also present in the heart and the bone marrow, thus completely corrupting the blood of the hose of the organism, but unlike what it caused to the brain, its effect here was to fasten the growth of the body, causing the rotting of it, but if sustained with blood, as proven by taking a minuscule sample of my blood by using a clean syringe, and then mixing it with the blood of the zombie, the growth process slowed down, and it improved the quality of the blood, maybe that was why flesh for zombies had a drug like an effect because it could strengthen them.

I move away from the table and instead move towards the centrifuge where I had put several smaller samples of the brain.

I opened it and took one of the closed vials to look at its content, and as I hoped, the density between the brain and the poison wasn't the same, thus making me able to divide them, using a dropper I take a sample of the poison and put it inside a beaker, and then inside my inventory, I did the same with the rest of the vials.

'I will need to see the different reactions this poison has with different medicines, could try using Varenicline, which is being used to reduce the craving for smoking, but I'd need to modify it so to make it stop the craving for human meat, it wouldn't stop it, but it can reduce it.'

Now that I had stopped focussing on the experiments I take a look at the notifications I had received during the experiments.

'Ahhh, this is going to take a while, but at least it's a good way to farm.'

Just as I was bout to continue my experiments, the glasses I had set with telekinesis so that I could look at the screen of my PC, showed me that someone was approaching the garden of my house, but from how she was moving and her portamento, she doesn't seem to have bad intentions, even more, considering how she is dressed, she isn't prepared for a battle unless she is a magician or mutant that can mutate to a dragon or even an eldritch being, then I am royally fucked, but I have to keep the faced of this being a normal house, so I put everything that could be ruined by exposure to oxygen inside my inventory and get out of the laboratory.

I head towards the first floor just in time to hear someone ringing the bell.

Using telekinesis I open the outer gate and head toward the main door.

I open the door and the same woman I had seen in the cameras could be seen.

" Can I help?" I said while mimicking a confused face.

" Oh yeah sorry, I am one of your neighbors, I simply wanted to introduce myself and see if you needed anything, my name is..."(Guess who she is, prompts, she is rich, lives in New York, surely isn't weak, has both telepathy and telekinesis, like diamonds a lot, she is neither too good and neither too evil and laslty she is smoking hot)
