Chapter 85: Han Zhi Fan's side of story

Han Zhi Fan could say that Yu Zhen was his childhood friend. They grew up together. He took care of her and protected her since she was easily bullied. She would smile gently waiting at the side of the basketball court to go back home together after his practise.

There were times Lu Jinnian and Mo Yan would tease them as a couple. He also thought that it would be fine if he married Yu Zhen. There was no romance between them, but it'd be better to marry someone he knew than a stranger.

However, the peaceful days were ruined when Yu Yin Feng was detected to suffer leukimia. Yu Zhen would always take care of her mother, but the fear of losing haunted her more than ever that the once docile girl turned into an unstable emotional one. Not until Yu Yin Feng passed away that Yu Zhen turned into a quiet girl she used to be.

Nonetheless, the silent girl was like a walking death. Han Zhi Fan would be the only one who could make her have her food or smile a little. She became dependent toward Han Zhi Fan. Thus, Han Zhi Fan would come back and forth between America and the hometown.

Once, Han Zhi Fan was back and he found that Yu Zhen was all smile. He felt relieved as he thought she had recovered from the loss. Who knew that it would be the last time he would see her. That last time was the most peaceful days that he had since Yu Yin Feng was diagnosed.

That was also the first time that Yu Zhen made a request which was for Han Zhi Fan protect Tang Wei.

Yu Zhen always knew the well-being of the Tang princess. She would also be the one who stood on Tang Wei's side when there were malicious comments after her debut. She would be the first to praise Tang Wei for her great performance. Even in her last letter, she asked Han Zhi Fan to protect Tang Wei no matter what.

The thing that made Han Zhi Fan feel guilty was he didn't know that Yu Zhen was diagnosed for leukimia, not until he arrived America. Once he knew, he arranged everything even he had decided to donate his marrow bone. He was so happy to know that he was a match. Alas, he was too late. Yu Zhen was gone, leaving a letter, when he arrived.

It was guilt. Therefore, he would always remember and remininsce their moments. He couldn't deny that the exclusive contract that Tang Wei had with Lu Jinnian was his instruction. He paid attention to every move that she made for years that he slowly felt in love with her.

He was once not sure with his feeling. He was afraid that it was not love but guilt because of Yu Zhen's death. However, he realized that he felt pain whenever he got the news of Tang Wei's injuries. He felt like killing people who treated her unfairly. He felt dying when he found out that she too was diagnosed to suffer the same illness, leukimia.

He was almost crazy when he knew that she didn't want to fight for her illness. For the first time, he felt so much fear of losing.

Therefore, although he knew that one day Tang Wei would find out about Yu Zhen, misunderstand about his intention, he still would want to make a bet to live with her. Before everything was too late.
