Superpowers in Apocalypse

It was the advent of New Year and the upcoming holidays.

People were having leisure time with their families. Merry laughter and rock music could be heard sometimes from some houses.

Shops and restaurants provided discounts on food and gifts. The shopping mall and restaurants were packed with people.

Youngsters were fully enjoying their new year party.

The bar was full of people and booming music was rolling along with young teenagers dancing wildly.

On the second floor of the bar which was reserved for high-end wealthy people, five wealthy teenage boys along with sexy women were enjoying their drinks and chattering aloud.

It was Ray and his close friends. Caleb Ray was his full name but his friends called him by his surname since childhood and thus it continued to follow!

He was a sophomore college student and belonged to an ultra-rich wealthy family. At the age of 20, he was a second-generation multi-billionaire!

This was his social circle and these five boys were his best buddies!

He was exceptionally handsome with a very good figure along with sea rover-blue eyes which could hook a soul. He had a sharp jawline along with well-developed muscles underneath his shirt spoke volumes of his well-built body.

Ray lazily leaned on the sofa as the sexy woman beside him pour wine on his glass.

Another woman behind him massaged his shoulders while almost pressing her breasts on Ray.

Ray just raised his brow at that and didn't mind such implicit behaviour. Due to his status, he was used to having all kinds of women around him trying to seduce him.

His buddies were also surrounded by women around and were having a nice time.

"Hey Ray, I heard you are taking over your dad's company in March. Is it true?" asked Nathan.

"Uh..huh.rumours sure fly fast huh?" replied Ray in his usual deep voice.

That was Nathan Gray, a cool dude with slightly toned skin and a sharp look. He was an IT man who dabbled in stocks and security software since the early age of 10. His parents were very well known professors in the computing field.

"Hahaa. Nathan, you are so late about hearing this news. Ray had already bought some shares in numerous companies under his dad. The takeover process will come soon!!" replied Leo in a boisterous voice as he groped the ass of the woman beside him.

"Hehe, sweety, how about checking it on hotel tonight?" smirked Leo as he asked the woman.

The woman blushed as she nodded.

The others ignored such interactions. If Ray was the most attractive-yet-cold one, then Leo Clarke was the liveliest and horniest of the five of them. He was the gossipmonger among all of them! His family-owned real estate and high-end construction companies all over the world.

Kai sipped his drink as he said, " Good take over the production sector. My family is trying to extend in that sector, we can co-operate."

"Sure" replied Ray lazily as he sipped his wine.

That was Kai Xaviers, his family was in politics and had culinary business. They had several high-end restaurants around the whole country.

"Hmm. Are you planning to graduate early?" asked Kai.

"Probably mid-March next year. I plan to continue to be a sophomore for now! Company handover takes time anyway. I'm not in a rush." replied Ray.

Kai nodded and was going to ask something when he was mercilessly interrupted by a glare from his other friend Lucas...

"Okay enough of these serious talk guys. It is midnight!! Happy new year guys! Cheers!" exclaimed Lucas as the rest clicked their drinks and drowned it in one go and welcomed 2020...

*Boom* Boom* Boom*

As soon as the clock clicked at 12 and the five friends drowned their glass of wine, they heard the calamitous sound like those of nuclear blasts accompanied by shrill screams.

The rumbling sound was like a collision of planets as it engraved fear and despair in the depths of the soul of every human being.

Ray and others were shocked awoke from their drunken stupor as he glanced at each other with a shocked gaze.

"What's happening?" asked Leo shocked as he pushed away from the woman.

"Let's rush outside. It's not good to stay in a crowded place if any earthquake or potholes occurs," said Ray as the others nodded.

The crowd of the bar was already in panic mode and was trying to rush out of the bar in an unruly manner.

By the time Ray and his friends reached outside, they were flabbergasted to see the sky outside.

The sky clearly showed a messy picture of outside galaxies which should have been not visible by naked eyes. It was as if galaxies were colliding and thus the ear-splitting sounds!

The galaxies collided and created a pathway as if some kind of portal was ripped open.

A wave of the multi-coloured cosmic wave flashed past through everyone's body at that moment– be it old, newborn regardless of species and gender, none was discriminated against!!

For a second, time as if come to a standstill!

But nobody realized or felt it!

The air simultaneously became richer and somewhat mixed with different elements which were never before. The sea level increased, new landmasses appeared from underwater and trees sprouted and grew at an astonishing rate!

Everything was in bloom. But no one realized it yet!

"What's happening here?" asked Nathan as he looked at the sky which was somehow stabilizing after half an hour of collision.

Ray still looked at the sky and gravely said, "Don't know but whatever happening is not good for Earth!"

"Arhhhhhhhh!!!!!! Calamity!! Earth is finished!!!" screamed a voice among the crowd.

"Ahh, God!! Please save me!! I don't want to die"

"The prophecy of destruction is true! We are gonna die!"

Several hysterical screams followed after that! As it was said the unknown was most fearful, at that present everyone felt it was true.

Leo searched the internet and found the collision just now was the hottest topic on the internet.

Everyone was panicked and fearful and most of them believed that it was the prelude to destruction, which indeed was!

Nobody knew that almost 80% of the human population all over the world would be wiped out in the following months to come!

Only the rest who would survive the elimination would have the right to rule and speak!

"Let's go back home. Inform everyone and gather firearms and food stocks as soon as possible. " said Lucas as he analysed the situation calmly.

"If possible, gather everyone at one place. Maybe we can fight with numbers if required." suggested Kai.

"Let's meet in two hours and gather every relative at my villa." said Ray.

The rest nodded as he swiftly moved towards their home.

Lucas and Ray were cousins. Their father was blood brothers. Ray's father maintained a family business while Lucas's father was in the military.

Lucas was two years older than Ray and followed his father's footsteps in the military. He had the calm and most rational personality of all of them.

Soon both of them reached home. Their parents were relieved to see them.

"Mom, dad, uncle aunt." greeted Ray and Lucas.

"Are you two alright? " asked their mother worriedly.

"Yes, but I think we need to prepare necessities. The situation outside is going out of control," replied Ray seriously.

"Yes, I have already ordered firearms and blades. Keep them with yourself. We have already started stocking foods. But those things will be far from enough if a calamity struck!" replied Lucas's father in a worried tone!

"Supermalls are still opened. We need to collect more. Kai, Nathan and Leo's family will be here in 2 hours. There will be more collections. Have you contacted aunt and mom's maternal family? Are they okay? " asked Lucas.

"For now yes!" replied Ray's dad.

Both of their mother's maternal family was in different cities which took at least 3 hours via a flight to travel. But at present risky condition wasn't at all suitable for travelling. All they could do was pray for their safety.

Within an hour, Kai, Nathan and Leo's family arrived at Ray's family villa along with firearms, cold weapons and food stocks.

The food stocks looked rich but considering a large number of people, the stock would hardly work for a month.

Ray and others looked at each other and told their parents that they would go to the supermarket. They denied it at first but after Ray's persistent efforts the seniors agreed.

The five teenagers loaded their firearms and grabbed some cold weapons and left the villa.

It was more than 2 am. The street was still filled with people running here and there.

When they reached the supermall, it was packed with people and some of them even were fighting with each other for grabbing food.

Ray took a deep breath, "I and Leo grab the food, Kai protects the food and rest defend."

The rest nodded as they rushed towards the crowd and struggled to get as much as dry food they could get!

Due to the good fitness of Lucas and Nathan, they cleanly fought against any people who tried to attack Ray and others. Kai held the large sack which was filling rapidly.

No cashier or manager of the store could care for the mob who was wantonly stealing and fighting for food and supplies.

People were desperate at that moment. They pushed, punched and kicked each other for grabbing others' supplies.

By the time Ray and other companies rushed out of the supermall, they were drenched in sweat. Fortunately, there was no firing or else some accidents would have happened.

They returned home with 2 huge sacks full of dry foods.

That night was bound to be a sleepless night!

None of the humans knew that Earth was undergoing a rapid change.

Whether it was a blessing or a curse, only time would tell!
