•Will's POV•

"Uh- Wh- Y-you don't like him?"

I couldn't believe what I had just heard…

She didn't want him to like her? I thought she was going to make him her male soon.

Remembering back on the interactions he seen between the two they seemed so close.

Yet she didn't wish to have him as a male?

She shook her head and waved her hands in dismissal.

"I don't think of him in a romantic way at all! He's a cool guy but, I'm not really looking for any males."

My heart skipped a beat… in the bad way.

Her saying she wasn't looking for any males basically shot him down along with any other male who would pursue her.

She glanced at me and had a look of shock cross her face and in a instant it faded.

"It's not that I h-hate males I just haven't meet any with good intentions…" her voice sounded a bit weak as she went on.

•Maria's POV•

The cravings for cigarettes was eating me alive it was like at one moment I was free of it and the next trapped in temptations.

I took a deep breath and swam closer to the bank where I could touch.

"Will, you know how I said I get a craving for something in another world?"

I asked sitting in the water, letting the current take my hair away. The coldness of the creek faded after a while of being in the water.

Will followed me to where I was as he nodded.

"I am from… that world, it's different from this one. The males there, can't turn into animals. The females are sometimes looked down on for being weak, some are even taken advantage of…" I trailed off looking at the other side of the bank.

"Before…before-" I took a deep breath and released it.

"Before I arrived here I was attacked by a man…"

Will's gaze immediately snapped to mine slight irritation gripped his features…

"The last thing I remember from my world… was my hair getting yanked back, I-I screamed and he really didn't like it…"

I silently ran my fingers through my hair.

"He- punched me in the back of my neck, the last thing I heard was a loud crack…"

Slight tears stung my eyes, I felt a hatred rise in my throat. That man was the reason I was trapped in this world.

I looked up at Will, the look of irritation faded from his face. Now he wore a look of concern, he said nothing but he spreader out his arms nervously.

I realized he was offering a hug, I slowly entered his arms.

He wrapped them around me gently as if I would break at any moment.

"A-as I said, I'm a great listener Maria. T-thank you for trusting me with this…" he said tightening his hold.

Tears started rolling down my face as my head was starting to throb.

"I- I just want to go back home." The words sounded more like a plea more than anything.

Will stayed silent as I cried he gently and awkwardly patted my back from time to time.

After a while the sobs stopped and Will loosened his hold, but didn't let me go.

•Will's POV•

I held her gently, and took a deep breath.

"You- you said you heard a crack in your neck when he punched you?" I said trying to be as gentle as I could with it. But if she really did, it could mean the punch broke her neck and her body in that world is dead…

But then how… how did she cross over into this world.

Things don't make sense at all her, soul- and her body shouldn't be here…

"Y-yeah." She sniffled burying her face into my chest, which made my heart go insane.

My face reddened, because I knew there was no way she wasn't hearing my heart beat in that moment.

I sighed and looked down at her in a concerned way.

If I tell her, she could go into shock…

I held her a bit tighter than I was, preciously. I didn't want to be the one to tell her but could I hint at it for her to get it? Or would she be in denial…

"Maria." I said as gently as I could.

"Will?"

"Think about that crack, and what could have caused it." I said in a low tone, her breath caught in her throat but she stayed silent.

She slowly looked up at me her tears broke my heart, I slowly brought my hands up to her face and wiped under her eyes.

But the tears kept coming, but I rested my chin on top of her head.

"It… it couldn't have been that…" Maria whimpered I just hugged her a bit tighter.

"If it was… I- does that mean I can't go back?"

Her words were coming out a little more sluggishly, she gripped onto my shoulders.

"Will I want to go… back to the house."

I nodded and let her go gently, we left the creek heading soaking wet backyard to the lions house.

We got there pretty quick, she went inside telling me to stay out while she got changed.

She was incredibly gentle about it but I could tell that what happened earlier was bothering her.

It really made me feel bad that she had to realize it like that, honestly at the moment it happened she probably didn't think much of it.

I sighed and looked at the house.

I felt like a soggy old pelt, my clothes was soaked. I wanted to ask her if she would mind if I could go stop by my house.

But I knew she definitely wasn't up for it, I was as stupid as to make her feel uncomfortable.

I rubbed my arms noting every bump and slants made from scars.

I heard Maria's voice silently beckon me back to the house.

"Will I'm done dressing you can come back inside."

I nodded and jogged back to the house and went in, she wore a tiger pelted dress that went up to her collar bone but the some of the back was open.

The dress wasn't to short and it fitted her figure well.

I watched her as she sorted the pelts I had gave her the first day I met her when she passed out.

I lowered myself to the floor deciding to shift out of this form so I wouldn't be so chilled from the water.

She looked fine, but there was a air about her that told me she wasn't.

I felt guilt, that maybe just maybe I didn't need to tell her that just yet.

She suddenly put her hand to her temple in a pained way her face slightly contorting.

I got up and padded over to her to check on her when she looked over to me she, had a bit of a shocked expression.

"Oh, your in your bear form…" she said sighing outwardly, putting her hand over her heart.

I grunted and booped her with my nose.

She smiled gently, thought a pain hide behind her eyes.

"It's just I have a head ache right now I'm fine really…" she said waving her hand slowly.

I did a brief nod before positioning my self at the edge of her nest.

She climbed into her hoard of pelts and snuggled down into it, her hair still slightly wet from the creek.

"I…I'm going to take a nap briefly… good night."
