Rift between males- 15

Roy's POV

I couldn't believe that I had hurt her, my mind was going against me harshly.

I cut up meat shakily and put it over the fire, my ears flicked forward as I heard will come up out of the thicker forest...

I felt like something was off, I looked up seeing Maria asleep in his arms.

I shot up from my place. "What happened!?!"

In response Will glared a harsh glare towards me as he set her down resting on a tree, then I saw the spouse bracelet that hung neatly around their wrists.

"You! Bastard!" before could even think I took an aggressive growl from the male.

"No! You care to explain why her ribs are bruised?" I took a step back out of shock had i really hurt her enough for her to be bruised.

"I-..." I found myself stuttering, Will just scoffed and glared at me.

"I don't want to hear it right now. At least not in front of her." He snapped at me and went to the bag and got out her pelts.

My mind was running circles, I clenched my fist harshly.

"I- We will leave at sun high....I-I'll be right back." Will just glanced at me as he covered Maria with a pelt...

Maria's POV

I woke up to Will nudging me, squinting my eyes to see what he was doing he smiled gently at me.

"Here." He said handing me a piece of cooked meat, I rubbed my eyes and sat up straighter and took the food.

"Thank you..." I yawned feeling a wave of exhaustion hit me as I sleepily ate. Will ate his share and stretched out his legs, he turned to me as if he realized something.

"I-I almost forgot, your feet were hurting yesterday. You didn't get any blisters, did you?" he said softly, I looked over to him and looked down my feet were covered by the pelt.

"Mmm, I actually don't know. I haven't really paid attention to them after the stop yesterday." I said gently uncovering my feet. They looked really dirty, but no blisters.

Will sighed in relief, and his shoulders relaxed.

I hated that my feet were so dirty, but then I had a thought that crossed my mind. "Will?"

Will rested on the back on his elbows while he was sprawled out, he looked at me and tilted his head.

"Y-yeah?" he seemed back to being nervous around me which kind of was a little sad, seeing the process we made was now back down. I smiled gently as I suppressed a yawn, and I began explaining shoes.

"I don't know all too well, but do you have stuff that covers the bottoms of your feet to keep you from stepping on something?" I say as I lean back onto the tree snuggling back into the pelt.

"Uh, I don't think we do? But then again, I-I've only ever lived in the Bear Tribe so I'm not entirely sure..." He said with a confused look.

"Oh..." Couldn't lie I felt a little disappointed, my eyes were starting to get a little heavy as we talked.

Will's eyes softened as he got closer to me, my heart raced as he nervously scooted by me also leaning on the tree.

My face felt hot, but he just looked at me with kind eyes.

"H-how does one make these, f-foot coverings?" he said making eye contact.

"I- well I'm not really sure how, it could be made in this world..." I yawned and rubbed my eyes feeling self-conscious. "But my best guess would be using a pelt, putting holes in the material and running some type of vines or string through the holes so you shape it to your feet... then use the underside of the pelt to walk in?" I yawned again.

"I don't know, if I'm even really making sense... I'm really tired...." I said, I closed my eyes slowly. I felt a warm hand pat my head; my bracelet warmed up comfortably...

Will's POV

She fell back asleep in a matter of seconds; I felt a little guilty since she was the only one really suffering for the bond... I looked down at my wrist, the beautiful bracelet gleamed as a sun beam hit it. I felt myself smiling at it as thoughts ran through my head, I wasn't good enough for her but... If she would let me stay as her spouse, I feel like I would be overly happy...

I sighed and looked down at her sleeping figure.

The bushes rustled loudly I smelled that Roy was back I didn't even spare him a glance as I moved hair out from Maria's face.

"…Did she eat,Yet?" He said in a soft voice almost unheard to normal ears.

"We did." I said tension rising in the air, I looked up and silently watched as he grabbed some of the meat and ate it silently.

He took the rest and wrapped it into a lead and secured it with vine.

I heard him rustling in his backpack before he muttered words again.

"Let's get to going…"

I nodded and carefully picked up Maria with her pelts, the pelts weight added to Maria's made a slight difference but nothing that I wouldn't be able to handle.

I followed as Roy quickly put out the fire and left the clearing traveling deep into the woods.

Maria stayed asleep most of the day, she cuddled into my chest, the warmth of my bracelet buzzed around my wrist.

I slightly smiled looking down on her but then looked back at Roy.

I hated to say it but I definitely don't trust him near her anymore…

My ears pinned in a aggressive manner but he wouldn't be able to see it.

When the sun started to set we Seattle's down near a small stream, I put Maria down near some of the roots letting her head rest on a stack of pelts while she had one covering her neatly.

I cracked my back and went to the stream cupping some water in my hands and washing my face.

Roy had already sat down the bag and started working on the fire.

I glanced at him before making my way back to my sleeping spouse, her black hair spiraled out around her.

"Will." Roy said poking the started fire with a stick, he pushed some of the sticks deeper into the rising flames.

"Yes?" I said looking up at him the stars had now began to flicker in the night sky as the fire crackled and shown it light over the males face.

"Get the meat out of the bag and give some to Maria… Females need more food than us." He said turning his face where I couldn't read his expression, but his body language showed his feelings.

I got up and dusted my self off and headed to the bag getting out the leaf.

Picking some of the meat out I secured it and returned to Maria.

I nudged her a bit roughly to get her to wake up. Her eyes fluttered opened sleepily, as she looked up at me.

"Mmm, what? What is it?" She said tiredly rubbing her hands over her eyes, sitting up moving the pelt out of the way.

"You hungry?" I asked as she situated herself, she looked up at me and nodded with a small smile.

"A bit…yes." She said, I handed her the meat to which she took and immediately started eating at it.

After she was done eating she yawned and looked around in the darkness.

"Where are we?" She asked her eyes a bit heavy but her curiosity won against her sleep.

"We moved from the previous spot to here." I said but Roy looked up from what he was doing and blurted in a reply.

"I mean if you want to get technical. We are close to the Raven Tribes… they are just north of here." He trailed off and poked at the fire a crease formed between his eye brows as he thought.

"Oh…" she said looking at him warily, the marks on her ribs were still present which put me in a bad mood. I sighed deeply and sat beside her makeshift nest.

She yawned again before laying back down, she cringed a bit at the movement but managed to snuggle back into the bedding,

"I'm going to head back asleep…" she cooed tiredly, I nervously grasped at her hand wanting to be closer to her but I was nervous on how she would react to my touch.

She gripped my hand and brought it underneath her pelts with her. I stiffened up unsure of what was happening, but soon I heard the soft breaths of sleep from underneath the blanket…
