Ever had an unexpected visitor in your home? No? Lucky you. I did, and it happened after a seriously tough, endless, exhausting and unlucky day. They played some games with me and even smiled sweetly (read: "terrifyingly") at the end! That was such a funny dream! Wait? It was not? It was not a dream?! Are you 100% sure!? Nai wa! =+=+=+=+=+= Hey everyone, I just wanted to share that I'm not a fan of the initial version of this series. And before you jump in with any comments, it's not on you – it's all on me. There isn't a set update schedule, and I'm thinking about making some significant changes to the story to better align with Shiraori. I kind of felt like I messed up her character in the first version of the fic. If any of you are interested in the previous version, just let me know, and I'll throw it up under a different name, maybe in a single-chapter format.
Had a real grind at work today; the director's team messed up big time, and guess who got stuck cleaning up the mess? Yup, our team, along with two others.
And to top it off, we got slapped with punishment for not doing their work properly. Dumb, right? I seriously thought about quitting then and there, but my rent had other plans.
'Seriously, rent is so messed up, right? I mean, why is it that we're the only creatures on this planet that have to pay just to live here? I'd do anything to never deal with this kind of crap again.'
Anyway, my bus was running seriously behind schedule. Like, three buses late by the time it finally picked me up. No surprise, it was packed as expected for a bus running this late.
And, as if the day couldn't get any better, I left my wallet at work. Too late to grab it now, so I'm stuck starving today.
Resigned to my fate {A/N: Heh}, I grabbed my phone to check the time and maybe find something to read before sleeping.
Checked all my reading lists on different platforms, but no new chapters. Decided to switch things up and look for something completely new. Unchecked the "Harem" tag, sorted by "latest release," scrolled through all the new books—nothing caught my eye.
Tried another platform, picked the "Non-Harem" tag, still nothing.
Checked my favorite tags on the fanfiction website—nothing new.
Even the archive has disappointed me, offering nothing I hadn't read yet.
I slumped in bed, stomach growling. Then it hit me!
'I have some instant noodles tucked away in the back of my cupboard!'
I hurried down the hallway, almost slamming into the bathroom doors, and made my way to the kitchen. Got the water boiling, poured it into the bowl, and suddenly, my nose got hit with the mouthwatering scent of sweet, spicy curry.
Couldn't help but smile stupidly. Only thing that could make this day better was some alcohol!
After the meal, feeling a bit refreshed, I returned to my room and crashed. Too lazy to check emails or bother changing, just drifted off.

I got jolted awake by a fierce slap, and it was smack in the middle of the night. Stumbling out of bed, I was still reeling from the sharp pain. Glancing around, I noticed a glow coming from the living room. Moving slowly and clumsily, I made my way there, and my eyes settled on the couch.
There was a person sitting on it, their back turned to me, which was pretty weird since I lived alone. Their hair was crazy long, spilling from the couch onto the floor. They were gaming on my TV, playing some fighting game—Mortal Kombat, if the loud "FATALITY" was anything to go by.
"That's such a weird dream," I mumbled while walking over to join the person. It was odd; here was this intruder who just popped up in my place, yet I couldn't help but feel like I knew them. I shrugged it off, thinking it must be a dream. They gave me a nod when I sat down and handed me a controller to join in.
After a few rounds of getting my butt kicked, they finally turned to me. Their face was hidden in the shadows, only their mouth visible. With a grin, they casually said, "Yeah, you'll work just fine." And then everything went black again.
