Save me, Dreame!

A massive car crash accident occurred in the southeast part of Manova City. Twenty-five were injured, and eighteen were dead on the spot, including Alreign, a 28-year-old doctor. A sudden twist of fate happened as Alreign was resurrected on the 40th day after his death with his memories and body intact. Alreign then faced the crisis of how to explain his miraculous second life as all of the people who knew him witnessed his burial. Thus, to avoid turmoil, Alreign changed his identity and introduced himself as Dr. Dreame, allowing him to continue working at the hospital where he was employed before his sudden death. It was in fact a blessing to be granted a second life, but Alreign doubted it as he started to dream of dying people, yearning for survival. After treating the person he saw in one of his dreams, Alreign discovered his ability to treat anything, even people's chronic conditions, injuries, and wounds, just by putting his hand on top of their chests. He could also see the color of the severity of their condition: green for stable, blue for less severe, and red for severe. Alreign concluded that the purpose of his restoration to life was to treat these people. However, one night he woke up while breathing heavily, sweating buckets as he felt the agony of the person in his dream; no face, no name, and even the person's voice was unrecognizable. It was his first time to dream a silhouette and feel like he was the one suffering—he was in great torment since he dreamt about this person quite often; sometimes it overlaps with his other dreams. Desperate to end his anguish, Alreign dedicated himself to looking for this person while treating countless patients. Now he realized he wasn't just resurrected to treat those people but also to save this person. Yet, little did he know that saving that particular person in his dream required a huge risk.

The Thing

"What's her name again? Geva? Geneva?" Alreign asked after he entered Gab's office.

Gab glanced at him and sat on his swivel chair. "It's Gaia."

"Oh, right. Gaia. She's really strange."

Gab's brows furrowed at what Alreign said. "Why?"

"She's crying, but her eyes were conveying something. It was like... She was waiting for you to say something," Alreign answered.

Gab just chuckled while arranging the folders scattered on his table. "What? Are you a psychologist now?"

"No. I just saw her eyes. She was scanning you," Alreign added as he sat at the chair in front of Gab's table.

Gab stopped for a moment and looked at Alreign. "Come again?"

"She was scanning you," Alreign repeated. They both looked at Gabe when he entered the office.

"How's the guard?" he asked. Alreign just shook his head, which Gabe understood. "What about that man's wife?"

"She already left. Why?" Gab asked. Gabe locked the door first, then he went closer to them.

"When you were sho—" Gabe froze and stared at his brother. "Wait a minute. Why are you here?! You're injured!"

Gab's eyes widened, and then he looked at Alreign. Alreign received Gab's look, questioning, 'He didn't know yet? '

Alreign faintly shook his head in response and lowered his gaze. Gabe noticed their reaction, which made him feel suspicious.

"Hey. Are you hiding something? What is it, huh?" Gabe asked while intently looking at them. Both just fell silent.

Gab took a deep sigh and looked at Alreign. "You should tell him."

"Tell me what?" Gabe was confused.

Alreign stared at Gabe, and then he looked back at Gab. "Are you sure he can understand? Will he believe it?"

"I guess so. Try it," Gab replied.

Gabe felt a little annoyed listening to them while they were talking to each other, as if he weren't there in front of them. "Why don't you talk to me, mhm? Am I invisible or something?"

Alreign shook his head and leaned into his seat. "Okay, I healed Gab."

"Of course? Do I look stupid? I saw you enter his room earlier," Gabe retorted.

"I mean, not healed normally. But... just... Ugh! Can you just show him?" Alreign said, referring to Gab.

Gab stood up and pulled his shirt upward, showing where he had shot Gabe.

Gabe just looked at him confusedly. "Uh... what am I supposed to see?"

Gab pointed to his side. "I was shot here."

"So? What?" Gabe swiftly looked at Alreign. "Don't tell me..." Gabe covered his mouth in shock.

"You really healed him? Like, how? What—Oh, Ghad! I forgot you came back to life!" Gabe added. "What? Do you have some kind of magic? Did you become an angel? Grim reaper? Dude! That's so cool!"

Gab just massaged his temple in frustration while listening to him. "Gabe, what are you saying?"

Alreign chuckled. "I don't exactly know, but yeah, I can heal people."

"Cool! So, you also used your magic during the operation?" Gabe excitedly asked as he sat across Alreign.

"No. I did the operation normally," Alreign answered, then he turned serious as he remembered Gabe's unfinished sentence earlier. "Anyway, what were you saying? You didn't finish your sentence."

"Saying?" Gabe asked, trying to remember what he said. "Ah! Right. That man gave something to me when I checked on him just a few minutes before you entered the room, Alreign. He was weak and dying, so I barely heard what he was telling me. But, I heard some of them. If I'm not mistaken, I guess he told me not to give it to his wife or not to tell his wife. Something like that."

Alreign and Gab became more serious about what Gabe told them.

"What is it?" Alreign asked. Gabe then pulled something from his pocket.
