Rise to supremacy starting from Danmachi

I looked around as I tried to remember how I ended up in my current situation, in a room of white and without a body to call my own. It eventually hit me "I'm dead", I had just graduated from university and was about to start my journey in the real world as a hardworking member of society (A/N: "sure buddy") but I will start the tale of my life from the beginning, I was gifted more so than others. I could understand things easily whether it was mathematics, science, the arts, it all came easily. Naturally my parents finding this out made sure to cram everything into me after all smart kids win awards and lots of money in official competitions. I spent the first half of my life entering many competitions that I won, naturally.

While I was gifted, I was not perfect, I could forget things, so I had to go through previous materials often to recall them easily. After a while I was tired of competitions, so I brought it up to my parents while they were not thrilled with the thought of having no more money coming in from the competitions but, they understood that the day would eventually come as I was reaching the age where I wouldn't be seen as special for being as smart as I was and would no longer be eligible to participate in the competitions, I had won them enough to live a luxurious life for years to come. I then proceeded to focus on my studies but honestly, I had learnt everything up till college level.

I wanted to have friends my age and do things that my classmates found fun so I made a few friends and played around with them but the fun didn't last, I grew bored of the games we played together and our friendships fell apart as the parents of the children I hung around would constantly compare them to me and made them study hard in hopes of winning money in competitions and becoming wealthy as my parents had done, which I found dumb cause they were too old for that and the only other competitions available would be national and international ones. Fast forward to high school I met my best friend Jason speaking of which I never said my name did I? My name is, well I guess it was Derick Mason.

So, Jason was chill not too much of a douche nor a pussy he introduced me to the love of my life anime, and that's where the first time in my life I had true happiness or at least that's what I thought it was. I kept up with everything from the basics like Naruto, One piece and Bleach all the way to the slice of life, the ecchi, the psychological and on rare occasions the mecha. Naturally while I craved these sources of entertainment the creators naturally had their own things to deal with, lots of the anime stopped at one season with some ova's if we were lucky so I read their light novels to entertain me.

I would often see dense protagonists and hated their Inability to understand the emotions of girls that had feelings for them and hated protagonists that got hit for being in ecchi situations beyond their control, like I sure as hell wouldn't let some girl slap me some dumb reason but I digress eventually I graduated from high school top of my year obviously and chose engineering as my major and programming as a minor I had earned my parents enough money to afford it so why the fuck not, I never bothered with relationships but I wasn't ugly no, far from it I was pretty attractive, the long hours I spent in front of my mirror admiring myself proved it. I finally graduated and was offered many kinds of positions from different fields even as they had looked at my history and knew of my genius.

I was excited to say the least, I was finally free of my parents control as I had reached the legal age to take care of myself and I had the funds to courtesy of the money given to me by my parents which they gained by exploiting my talents.

"So I am 23 this year huh, time sure flies"

I had decided to make fanfics and draw for fun then I discovered that I could get paid for doing so, naturally I wouldn't pass up an opportunity to put extra money in my pockets and given my talents I knew the money would definitely come in and it did. I could afford to spend more money than i could in the past on my interest, I got limited edition figurines more manga and I could finally go to anime conventions.

I had just finished working out in my gym corner that I had in my apartment and I was soaked in sweat despite the cold temperatures courtesy of the storm that was brewing outside then I got a notification that the first episode of danmachi season 4 was finally out so I got to my table about to use it then all of a sudden I experienced an excruciating pain and everything went dark and after a bit of time I woke up to this room of white with nothing but my thoughts.
