Back to the present.

After we left the Mage tower, we started our journey in the carriage with the knights following on the horses.

I was feeling nervous and fear, but I couldn't back down now, I started training in dungeon to not panic in life and death situation, so I was somehow confident that I might be able to save her

After one day we crossed the Sentos city, and the way towards border was through the dense forest.

After 2 more hours of traveling we were in the middle of the forest and it would take two more hours for us to reach the border.

I could sense from dense dark mana that we were already surrounded so I warned the guards, and I asked them to stop here as there was no way out.

We settled some traps for the enemies which were coming from every possible way.

Soon it was time for the battle.

""Dark Balls""

*Boom**Boom*

After the echoing of a dark spell Many dark balls flew towards us and collided with the Guards pre-prepared 'Phoenix shield'.

After the explosion our surroundings got covered in dust, and once the dust settled demons came, they were atleast forty.

But I wasn't looking for them, I looked around and noticed, two dark figures behind the trees.

They were the leaders of this Group.

Seeing the Demons, the leader of the knights was baffled but he composed himself and ordered the knights.

"They are Demons! Attack!, We can't let them hurt lady and lord"

Soon the war began, I started cutting ever demons with my sword using boost. Silvy also used her Fire balls to attack the demons.

Seeing the massacre of demons, the two leads came out from their hiding and started attacking us.

"Dead rise" one of them released a spell and a large circle formed in ground and the dead demons turned into undead, they stood up and start attacking again.

And the other started speaking," Hand that girl over to me, and you can go". He pointed towards Silvy.

She got baffled hearing him, and thought to herself 'why a demon wanted her'.

"Like hell, I will hand her over to you just like that" I replied to him and raised my sword towards the sky " Nightmare Rainfall" this time more than a thousand dark swords formed in the sky, because I now have a bigger mana reservoir.

Dark swords Started falling towards the demons and the two leaders, Leaders hastily put the dark shields around them but other demons were Pierced brutally.

Seeing my dark magic they were baffled and The leader, who revived the Demons earlier asked his partner.

"Amon, who is he? And how can he use Dark magic?"

"How do I know him Gorgo, I don't know about him at all, I just sensed that the thing we needed is inside that girl"

"Forget about it then, we needed that girl's heart for our purposes, and whoever come in our way must die".

After saying this The demon named Gorgo raised his hand and spelled " Venomous Ball " a dark ball formed in his hand which was 2 metres in diameter.

Seeing the dark ball every guard fired the fire ball towards them.

*Boom**Boom*

Both the balls collided and whole environment got covered in dark miasma.

The guard's faces turned pale and they started fainting. Silvy also fainted because of the miasma.

'shit this dark smoke is poison ' I thought to myself and I was not affected because I was immune to this because of my dark element spell 'Neutralize'. This spell could neutralize any spell, but it could only be used once because of its high mana consumption.

"So you are still standing huh! Quite persistent, aren't you?" The Demon name Amon mocked me.

But I didn't respond to his mocking and slashed my sword in the air towards him, but the dark slash was stopped by the tentacles coming from his shadow.

I charged at him with the sword in my hand, as I reached near Amon the tentacles Started attacking me.

*Swoosh*Swoosh*Swoosh*

I dodged continuously from his tentacles, while slashing some of his tentacles, but they grow back in no time.

I used boost with using 'Shadow Steps' my speed rose to a new level, and my after image could be seen. I slashed all his tentacles and move my sword towards his neck but a dark ball hit my sides and then I crashed into the trees.

"What are you doing? Amon you were about to be beheaded by just a child" Gorgo scolded him.

"W-what happened, I was somehow lost in his after images" Amon replied baffled from his previous near death situation.

"That's because that kid used 'Enchanted Eyes' with shadow steps, that kid is not normal, we have to finish him off right now, but that girl is also dying because of poison and due to commotion Border Guards might come soon, so you go and take her heart while I finish this kid" Gorgo said to Amon.

Hearing him my blood started boiling, My body was covered in bruises and blood was coming from my mouth.

In the original novel they were after Silvy for her heart, because she was Born with the 'Phoenix heart', but nobody knew about this, because she didn't awaken its power yet, these demons needed her heart for increasing their mana level so that they could go to 'that' place.

But I couldn't let them kill her, I stood up and with my bloody face looked at the demon in front of him.

"Die".
