Returning from the heart of a bustling city, a 26-year-old man returned to his mother's home late from his server job. As he makes himself some dinner, he remembers his childhood. When he was young, he could spend all his time on his passion for anime, but now he has become an adult. He worked tirelessly six days a week, struggling to pay bills and save money to one day start a business, release the chains that bind his family, and improve his family's livelihoods.
As he lay exhausted on his bed one fateful night, he quietly drifted into sleep's dark embrace. Unknowingly, He peacefully passed away.
His passing was tranquil, a silent departure from the world he had known. But as the darkness enveloped him, he found himself in a realm beyond comprehension. In a room of only white, he finds himself face to face with a specter of a being. Its presence resembled a character he once saw in an alchemy-related anime.
"Hey," the specter's voice resonated within the man's mind.
"W-What?" said the man, clearly bewildered.
"Do you want to play a game?" replied the voice.
"Before that, where am I?" the man said back.
However, the specter never replied. There was only silence in a completely empty white room. Soon, it became too unsettling.
The man was confused; however, after a few minutes of looking around and nothing else happening, he nodded in assent.
What did he have to lose?
The specter presented him with three spinning wheels.
"Go ahead. Just will it, and it will." said the being.
The man did. All the wheels start spinning at the same time.
"Aren't you eager? I thought you'd do it one at a time." said the silhouette of a person.
The first wheel read, "8 years old, Yasutora Sado".
The second wheel read, "Incredible raw Strength, Speed, and Durability."
The third wheel read, "One piece, year 1500, born on December 31th in Shimotsuki Village."
"This is an interesting round of options. Good luck in your new world." The specter's voice slowly receded as the world went black.

On a quiet dawn in Shimotsuki village, eight-year-old Sado sat alone under a clear, starlit sky. The early morning dew was the same as his previous life, yet different in some way; maybe it was the air quality. Sado was a tall, dark-skinned child with pronounced cheekbones and wavy brown hair with bangs that generally hung over his brown eyes. The other children often insulted him, mocking his skin color and appearance. Yet, none dared to do more due to his more prominent size and noticeable stature for his age. Despite being bigger and stronger than the other kids, Sado was a silent child who never fought back with his fists. He didn't want to hurt anyone.
In Sado's new life, he only has his grandfather, a robust man with a mysterious past. He was the only family Sado had ever known, and their bond was unbreakable. Despite his grandfather's loving nature, he strictly disciplined Sado whenever he doubted his skin color and heritage. For his grandfather, having darker skin was a thing to be proud of. It was his way of reminding Sado that being different was something to be cherished, not ashamed of.
Early this morning, as Sado looked up at the sparse clouds, he couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. He felt lonely from not knowing how his previous family was doing, not knowing what happened to his body once he was gone, or what everyone would say about him.
Tears silently streamed down his bang-covered face.
*rustle*
The grass nearby rustled, and Sado stood up quickly, wiping his tears, and faced the noise. Soon, a young boy with a green bush of hair walked out, looking lost.
"Hm? Hey you, do you know where the village dojo is?" said the boy.
"It's that way." Pointed Sado in his confusion to the boy's appearance. The boy nods and goes about his way, but a few minutes later, he shows up in front of Sado again.
"Eh? How did you get in front of me?" Sado stares at the boy and recognizes that this is Zoro that he is talking to. A character that is known for his awful sense of direction. Even if Sado left the previous world, coming here and meeting people he has watched throughout his childhood is still somewhat soothing to his lonely heart.
"I'll take you there. Follow me." Together, they walked through the village, into the outskirts, and arrived soon after in the dojo vicinity.
In front of the dojo, they soon saw all the children diligently practicing their downward swings with an instructor watching and a student in front displaying the correct form.
Zoro squared his shoulders and spoke confidently, "My name is Roronoa Zoro! I challenge this dojo! Whoever is the strongest, come face me!"
"!!" Sado was expecting it but still shocked, and so was everyone else. All the children soon stopped what they were doing and looked at Zoro while the instructor and student, a girl, now looked at him.
The instructor regarded the young boy with a critical eye and decided to test him. "Very well, young one. To challenge the dojo, you must prove your dedication and determination. Train here diligently, and we shall see if you are worthy when the time is right."
"NO! I want to challenge you right now! I'm strong enough!" Zoro replied sternly.
"Arrogant!" The young girl in front of the instructor said.
"My name is Kuina! I'm the strongest disciple here. If you can defeat me, then you can challenge the headmaster."
"Alright!" Zoro looked eager and snatched a bamboo sword from one of the students. The student looked a little scared of Zoro's mean face.
Sado looked on with interest and watched from the sideline.
"This should be a good show," Sado whispered.
"Indeed, I wonder who will win?" ???.
"Probably the girl...hm?" Sado looked to his side to find the headmaster standing next to him.
"!!" 'When did he get there!' Sado thought in shock at this man's speed. The man only closed his eyes and smiled in response.
