Alex had arrived at Elder Roberts' house in just a couple of minutes. He noticed the lights were still on and merely smiled at what reactions they might have. He knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer. After waiting a couple of minutes, an elderly man answered the door. Robert looked at Alex with slight annoyance for disturbing him so late at night and asked,

"Why are you here? Don't you have a task you should be working to complete?"

"Oh, that. I already completed it. I have the Viper Snake right here."

"Wait, what? I'm sorry, could you repeat that? I must be getting too old or too tired, but I heard you say you had already killed the Viper Snake."

"I did."

Robert looked at him with glee and hurriedly brought Alex and the Viper Snake inside. The village chief looked at Robert with a helpless smile and said,

"Robert, don't just stand there admiring it. Harvest it quickly so no materials are wasted."

Robert nodded to the village chief and quickly brought the Viper Snake inside his workshop. The dismantling process took an entire hour, and afterward, a table inside the workshop was filled with containers holding its materials. The Viper Snake was a rare monster, so its entire body was valuable. Its liver, heart, lungs, blood, scales—everything was valuable. Robert was having a field day while the chief just smiled at the table filled with precious materials. Robert coughed, trying to hide his embarrassment, and said to Alex, "I might have misjudged and underestimated you. Good job, Lucifer."

"Thank you, Elder."

The village chief smiled at this little interaction and told Alex that he would go get his reward for the task. The chief came back in a couple of minutes with a small blue marble and a pouch of coins. He handed them to Alex, despite the shocked and reluctant look of Robert, and said, "You went beyond what we asked for, and I feel that you deserve an even better reward. I hope you can use it to its full potential, unlike us."

[Quest reward has increased]

[You have gained 50 Silver Coins, Crystalized Mana, and the trust of the villagers.]

[Crystalized Mana

A marble of pure mana formed naturally. This marble has the ability to take in ambient mana and purify it.

Purify:

Take in ambient mana and turn it into higher purity.

Mana Pearl:

Form a Mana Pearl that is a highly sought-after material for mages. A small chance to produce a crystallized mana of lesser or equal purity.

Cooldown: 7 days

Combine:

Combine lesser or equal purity Crystalized Mana to enhance the Crystalized Mana.

Cooldown: None]

Alex looked at the Crystalized Mana with shock. Just the first ability is overpowered and would make any organization crazy! Then to infinitely produce Mana Pearls, a highly sought-out material for mages. Each mana pearl can be sold for at least 50 Silver coins and upward of 2 Gold coins. Then to be able to produce Crystalized Mana and then combine them is unheard of. This item is insanely powerful. The reason the first ability is so powerful is that being in a high mana area has multiple benefits, like increasing concentration, focus, mana recovery, skill, and spell enhancement.

Alex looked at the village chief and sincerely thanked him. He knew that this item would become increasingly important and would help develop his own force. Yes, Alex wanted to make a guild inside the game, and this item would help him. Either being in a guild or making a guild was necessary as he wouldn't be able to do everything by himself. Alex would never allow himself to be under someone again; he had to be in charge or it wouldn't work. Alex looked at the chief and asked a question, "Will the village start believing in Chronos again?"

"My apologies, however that would be hard. I will start to believe in him again, but I can't force others to believe in something they don't want to."

"I see. I would like to know, how many people know about the crystallized mana?"

"Oh, is that what it's called? Well, only me and Robert actually know about it."

"I see. Then could you let me purify the mana vein?"

"Of course. If I may ask, why?"

"Well, I want the people of the village to witness a miracle."

"Very well. I'll hold a meeting in the morning. You should get some rest, Lucifer. See you in the morning."

"Yes, see you in the morning."

Alex went to a local inn and logged out of the game. His body was stiff from lying down for 8 hours. He quickly stretched and looked to see what time it was. At the moment, it was 9:27 PM. Alex quickly looked at the news to see recent information.

The game had released its own forum. Alex quickly made an account and linked it to his game avatar. The forum could be accessed inside the game and had restrictions on the number of accounts. One account for every person, and an AI named Thea monitored the forum, making sure system contracts were reinforced. This would make many people breach their contract, and it was something Alex wanted to capitalize on. Alex began to search for a certain user on the forum, Ryan Olene. He was a wealthy second-generation player who had created the guild "The Olene Knights." Alex used to be a part of the guild until he was ruthlessly cut off because he lost his value. So Alex wanted to put Ryan in as much of a bad spot as possible. He wanted to put him in so much debt that he wouldn't be able to form a guild this time. The best way to do that would be to make a system-enforced contract. Alex quickly found Ryan Olene and sent him a message. While he was waiting for a replay, Alex went and got something to eat. When Ryan replied back asking who this was, Alex simply avoided the question and proposed a deal. He needed to quickly cut off his coin supply. While in the future, a currency exchange system would be added, it was more of an auction system. It would let players put up coins and let other players bid for them. This would make coin prices fluctuate regularly. Alex needed to accept the thought of making a deal. After waiting for an hour, Ryan had finally agreed to hear him out. Their conversation through messages went as follows:

"So you wanted to make a deal with me?"

"Yes, that's right. I wanted to give you some information for the right price, of course."

"Alright, how much credits do you want, 100,000? 150,000?"

"Oh no, you misunderstand. I don't want credits, but instead gold coins."

"The game just started. I don't even have a single gold coin. How could I even pay you?"

"You can pay in 3 months. However, I want an advance, so all the coins you have at the moment."

"No, that would be utterly stupid."

"The information is worth every penny spent. I can promise you that. If you don't believe it to be true, we can even make a system-enforced contract."

"That depends. What is the information about?"

"Quests! Quests inside the starting villages!"

"Deal! What are your conditions?"

"The contract will be as follows: Party 1 (me) will give Party 2 (you) valuable information about quests inside the starting villages. In return, Party 2 will give Party 1, 500,000 gold coins in at most 4 months.

*Either party can't talk about the contract or the information to anyone. If broken, Party 1 will give Party 2 information as valuable for free. Party 2 will give Party 1, 10 times the gold coins.

*Once signed, Party 2 must give all the coins he has to Party 1.

*Failure to pay your debts will have you suffer extreme consequences."

"How would you get the coins even if I sign it? I have no idea who you are, as you're hiding your name."

"That's simple. We will set up a system bank account where you will transfer the coins into."

"Very well, I'll sign the contract."

Once they had the system contract signed, Alex set up a system bank account where Ryan transferred the coins. All he had to do was go to a bank inside a town or city and collect the coins. Alex looked at the forum messages and smiled. Ryan had taken the bait. Now all he had to do was wait.
