RE: ZET-MAN!

'Ahhh heck's... I died... I expected it to be a bit more painful, but getting ran over by a semi-truck over the head makes said death rather swift...

Whoever I am talking to must be wondering, 'How do you know all of this?'

Well before that, I should tell you my name. I'm Marcus James... and continuing from before... let's put it this way...

In lay-man's terms, it was because I was staring my dead body in the eyes. It mangled me beyond belief.

Looking at my body, I felt nothing... I was probably rid of my mortal shell, as well as its ties to emotions and senses...

What did I do to deserve a death like this? I can't even say I lived a terrible life... on the contrary, I think it was decent in all respects.

I did everything well; Even grew up in a decent household; I was good at my studies and I also became a professor in both math and English. I Had a wife, but with no kids, which was unfortunate... We weren't fortunate enough for that, but we still loved each other nonetheless.'

I also loved both anime and manga. My first ever read was from an old manga series being "Zet-man" a story about a boy growing into his destiny. Born a player/monster, yet living the life of the unsung human/hero...

Oh, how I used to wish to be like that... "

~ 3RD Person Pov ~

Immediately after saying that, Marcus's spiritual body flew into the sky. Disappearing into nothingness, then fading back into reality.

"What in the?

Where am I?

Where is this?..."

-Hello Marcus. It's nice to meet you in person... or spirit, whichever you prefer-

Marcus stopped. Hearing a powerful, yet calming voice around him, however, he had a feeling of who or what this being was, and right as he was about to respond, the being continued.

-Yes, I am god, young Marcus-

Having his question answered before saying anything meant that what this being said was true. It was most likely a god.

So there was no point in thinking useless things. So he responded..

"May I ask... why I died, specifically so early?"

-It was your time too, simple. Not every human is destined to live a long life, young one...-

"That's... but... why?"

-Because space and resources are necessary... there are nearly 100 billion people currently on earth, Marcus and other young ones need to be brought in while the old make way for the new generation, such is my cycle of life-

"I see... but may I ask why I am here?"

-It is because you are the 100-billionth person to die, which also means you little one, get to make 'requests'-

Marcus thought the number was a bit peculiar... but he said nothing of it. What he cared about was what god said about 'requests'.

But before he asked about that, he wanted to ask something else.

"Can you tell me about my wife... is she doing ok? How is she handling my death so far? Will she be ok in the long run?"

-She is fine Marcus, however she did not handle your death well, initially... but in due time, she will move on. Eventually living a fruitful life as well-

Hearing that put Marcus's mind at ease. He loved his wife unconditionally. And now he knew she was going to be ok.

He will continue onward, living a new life happily for her and for his own sake.

"Thank you... for telling me that"

-It is no problem Marcus, now... let us talk about those requests-

"Oh, right!... well.. what can I even ask for? Or specifically the limits."

-That depends on what you ask for and as for how many also depends on what you ask for-

Marcus was just thinking of the first manga he read not too long ago... So he had an idea of what he wanted.

"Well... for my first request, I would like to have the powers/abilites of 'Zet-man.'"

-Next-

"Can I also be reborn into the DC universe? you can choose the timeline. It doesn't really matter much to me, just please don't make it too early"

-Yes... and done-

'Great'

Marcus thought his requests were going well. Now it was time for the kicker.

"May I have the gamers' system?"

-Yes... but it won't have its leveling feature, but it will have its perk, inventory, quest, item and dungeon feature with minor tweaks... The reason for the 'leveling' removal was due to how the 'system' operates within said universe. DC has its laws that are absolute and for the balance to be kept. Certain beings can be killed giving infinite exp simply because of their 'potential' or role in the future-

This sucked, but before he could live with it, he had a wish in mind to balance to counter this change.

"Well, may I have a body with endless potential?"

-Yes... that can be done-

'Great! this should make my time easier in achieving perks in the future. Especially with a body that has no limits to its growth.'

"May I have an endlessly increasing intellect as well?"

-Hmmm... yes, but to a miniscule degree... your mental capabilities will have to be done with your own work and studies to enhance it. Other bonuses will be apparent the more you're willing to exercise/improve-

"That's fair enough...

Then, as for my next request... Can have an intelligent system A.I to help or guide me regarding the system tasks and myself?"

-Yes, a minor wish-

'Great so far, maybe I should ask for this too...'

"For this one, can I have an enhanced growth rate?"

-No Marcus... you already have a body that has limitless potential. Your growth now depends on how much you train, as it should be-

'That sucks, but it made sense. I would get extremely powerful quickly if that wish was granted.'

"Ok, may I have the opportunity to customize my new body/appearance?"

-Yes... I will send you to a menu to help you create the character you wish to look like. However, your requests are now over.

However, I will be watching over you on your journey to and from DC. Be safe, Marcus...-

With that said, something immediately teleported Marcus to an interface with a blue screen in front of him.

Showing multiple anime characters from different shows and choices regarding his height, eyes, and physique, etc...

"So this must be it... Well let's get started"

Saying that, Marcus knew what he wanted immediately. Searching for 'Kanzaki Jin' and clicking on it, he saw everything regarding how Jin looked if they portrayed him in real life.

"Not bad, he's got the hot bad-boy type of looks, maybe a 7/10..."

However, while looking a bit more, Marcus spotted another function, called 'fusion'. Clicking on it curiously, he saw another character template interface saying 'choose additional character to fuse with'.

Easily understanding what this was. He searched for another character he loved, which was 'cloud strife', and after clicking on him, he had the option to fuse both.

Clicking on the fuse button.

With a bright glow, he saw both characters intertwine while glowing white in the process. What he saw after the end was a new character called 'Jin strife'.

It impressed Marcus.

This one took the best of both worlds. Albeit, it looked a bit strange. The new character had dark bluish green eyes and had brown-blond tipped hair. While having Jin's height and combining both the looks of the two.

"Call me impressed... this one is a 9/10, maybe a full 10/10 cause of the eyes.

A true manly bishonen, but he looks a bit out of place..."

The height of the new character was exactly 179cm. He made him a bit taller, which would now be increased to an even 185cm instead.

He decided to keep the eyes and change the hair to its original dark brown instead, in reference to the original jin while keeping his original hairstyle too, as well as keeping a bit of his physique.

"And. I think I'm all finished, now... to start"

Pressing the 'enter' option.

Marcus was slowly getting covered in a blue light. Teleporting once more, with his consciousness fading in the process...
