You can DM me on reddit at u/supersaiyaninfinite or comment on the chapter if you want to send any fanarts. I'll change the cover for the fic if I ever receive one Death, taxes and simping for ana de armas. The three constants of life. These very three constants were experienced by a certain teenager who was one big pokèmon nerd, especially when it comes to competitive singles as he spent his life away trying to grind and increase his rank in pokèmon showdown. As his lifestyle and interests suggest, he did indeed die a virgin, though his death came through a somewhat heroic effort to save his brother from dieing by shielding his body from the fall and losing his own life in the process. As his soul reached the place in afterlife where god himself would help test his morality and offer either a boon involving reincarnation into a different world ( isekai for short ) or a short period of repentance or punishment and then reincarnating on good ol' earth. And so, began that teen's new life, filled with gratitude for "Smogon".

Arvind's your average run-of-the mill teenager, average in studies, plays video games a lot and watches anime. There was another thing though, which he enjoyed more than anything else, competitive pokemon! Be it participating in pokemon showdown contests and being a top ranking user in almost every format, you name it! He was quite gifted, to say the least, at pokemon. One day as he was reading a volume of berserk in his room, he heard a loud voice screaming at him.
"Come downstairs now or I'm going to go up, and make you regret not listening to me"
It was his mother. He, while bothered, still went downstairs as he knew the horrors he'd face if he didn't do it.
When he went downstairs, he walked up to the living room, pulled out a can of coke from the freezer and asked,
"What is it now mom?"
Just as he said that, his mother pointed at his brother who was sitting quietly on the bean bag. She then said,
"I'm going to this new bakery along with aunt sallie but your brother is screaming since the morning about taking him to this theme park which opened yesterday, if you'll take him there, I'll buy you this "elden ring" game you're always talking about"
That was enough to convince him. He wanted to play elden ring but he was out of pocket money so he couldn't decline it at all.
"Here's some money for the tickets and other expenses, both of you can have lunch there", said his mom.
He then took the money, grabbed his wallet and smartphone and asked,
"Hey there, you're ready to go, dev?"
His brother answered him by simply nodding his head. Arvind just sighed and went on along with his brother.
"So where's this theme park you're so obsessed with?", asked arvind.
His brother just raised his shoulders to signify that he has no idea.
Arvind picked up his phone and searched for the place on google maps. Apparently it was a 30-minute ride from their house.
Arvind just booked an uber and waited for it to arrive. About half an hour later, the uber driver had finally arrived. The man drived up to them, opened the windows and asked,
"Arvind right? Get in!"
And so he did, along with his brother. The car was nothing special at all, just your average boring uber. He pulled out his earphones from his pocket and started listening to some eminem on spotify.
As expected, in about thirty-minutes they arrived at their location. The theme park was surprisingly huge, with a big board with "Caesar's wonderland" written on it.
He then walked up to the ticket counter to buy some tickets. There were three grades of tickets, the "monkey" grade which just let's you enter the theme park, the "chimpanzee" grade which offers most rides and entrance for free and the "gorilla" grade which offers every ride, some lunch and entrance for free.
He paid for the last one because he didn't have to do anything after buying this one as it offers everything he wanted.
As he entered the theme park, he saw an ice-cream counter. He wanted to get one so he walked up to the ice-cream counter.
"Hello sir, what can I do for you?", asked the waiter.
"Uhhh...I'll get an orange bar, and he'll...", said Arvind.
"I wanna get a strawberry cone, with choco-chips!", said Arvind's brother.
"I'll get it prepared as soon as possible!", said the waiter.
After about a minute or two, the ice-cream was served. Arvind paid for it and tipped the waiter for his service.
He walked around a bit more and found the rollercoaster. That's when he understood that this whole theme park is based on the "planet of the apes" trilogy.
The rollercoaster was rather interesting as the entrance had a big cardboard cut-out of Caesar. The track looked like a grassfield and the ride looked like it was made like a treehouse.
Almost instantly after seeing it, his brother screamed,
"Big brother this is the ride I came here for!!! Let's go there!!!"
As Arvind grew a liking towards it, he couldn't deny his wish at all! He walked towards the entrance with a slight bit of excitement as he was rather fond of the "planet of the apes" trilogy.
As he entered the lobby, he was greeted with a sleepy-sounding voice. And soon a man with dark circles and a loose shirt came near him and said,
"Oaoooo...wey'cuum sEr"
Arvind tried his best to not burst into laughter as the man's funny voice and accent kept echoing in his mind.
He then walked ahead as the man followed him. In the middle of it, Arvind asked,
"We have the "gorilla" grade pass, can you prepare the ride for the two of us?"
"yEs sEr", replied the sleepy man.
After that exchange, the man guided the two brothers to the rollercoaster.
"This one right?", asked Arvind
The sleepy man nodded. He then went back to the control room to start the rollercoaster.
Arvind and his brother boarded the ride and waited patiently for it to start. After a few minutes, the rollercoaster started to move.
Arvind was impressed by the ride's unique design. The track too looked good, too bad the experience was rather average.
As the rollercoaster went on, the track started to shake and a bunch of cracks were visible.
Arvind felt really uneasy after seeing that and held his brother incase something bad happens. As more cracks started to emerge , he screamed and requested the sleepy man to stop the rollercoaster.
Too bad he couldn't hear them at all! As the rollercoaster went on and on, the cracks started opening up, making Arvind foresee a rather scary situation.
Arvind couldn't jump out of it either because they were pretty high up. As the rollercoaster went on, the sounds of cracking kept on becoming louder and louder untill...it stopped with the final loud crack of doom.
The next thing both of the brothers saw was a fall as the rollercoaster was hanging between the small portion which was still intact and mid-air where they ended up because of the broken track.
Arvind held his brother hard to save him incase they fall. Unfortunately the portion which was still intact started to crack as the track broke once again, making the rollercoaster take a big fall.
The force of it all ended up ripping the seatbelts of both of the brothers, making them fall separately from the rollercoaster.
As they were about to land and get squashed on the ground like mosquitoes, Arvind held his brother's smaller body and covered it all with his so that he'll take most of the fall damage and his brother will survive.
He did succeed though, even if it came at the expense of his own life. A big crowd gathered around his brother's body as it was bruised badly, he wasn't at the risk of death though.
A lady from the croud called an ambulance for the two. As Arvind's mother heard of the incident, she came rushing towards the hospital with tears in her eyes where Arvind was declared dead.
Meanwhile, in a void which looked like space, a spirit was floating, it was one which had recently died. It kept floating and floating untill it reached a certain divine figure.
"Urgggg...my head hurts, where am I?", asked the spirit, seemingly confused.
"Welcome, koulibaly or as you were referred to in your previous life, Arvind", said the divine figure
"Ohh...how do you know my name?", asked Arvind's spirit.
"It's rather hard to explain it to a mortal but you see, I'm a being who was created out of nothing, in a time before anything existed, I alone govern over every reality, every universe, every realm and every atom. I'm what people in your world refer to as "god' or the "supreme power" or the "holy spirit", said the divine being
"Why would you spend so much time on a nobody like me?", asked the confused Arvin.
"I'm omnipresent, I can be present at multiple locations at once. This void is where spirits go to, to get to reincarnate and move on. The cycle of karma, reincarnation, life and death is never-ending. As there's so many realities, most beings don't get to reincarnate many times in the same world. The only way to end this cycle for a spirit is to do something which affects the stability of a world to a high extent in about five continuos lives." said the divine figure.
"Most of the time beings forget their memories before reincarnation so that their spirit doesn't get exhausted and so that they can start over a new leaf. There's an exception though, when a spirit dies for a good cause at a young age for two times in a row, they get to choose where they want to reincarnate and they're allowed to retain their memories" added the divine figure.
"So.... am I one of those?", asked Arvind with a slight smile
"Yes, you are indeed one such exception. To help you choose which distinct reality or universe you want to reincarnate in, I'll present a simple fact, the anime, games or movies you're so fond of exist as reality in many universes so you can choose one such universe", said the kind divine figure
"Is there a world of pokemon in one of these universes? If there's one, I want to reincarnate there!", said Arvind without any hesitation.
"Then so shall it be, I'll let you do that. Though I must tell you, this world is not exactly like the anime or the game and is a bit different so look out for that." said the divine figure
"I'm fine with that! So when can I do this?" asked an excited Arvind.
"I am afraid you'll have to wait a bit. There's a ritual where if a spirit is reincarnating in a different world of their choice, they can have one last buffet of their favourite meals before going" said the divine figure.
"I don't mind that at all!" said Arvind.
And so, he was guided to a beautiful garden where a table with two chairs was set. There was a big counter with some of Arvind's favourite dishes such as pasta, beef steak and ice candies.
There was also a weak gardener who was working hard even when he was tired. He looked like he hadn't eaten anything for a few days. He was as ugly as one could be, with a hideous face.
Arvind went in and got some of his favourites for the meal and sat down. There was enough cutlery for a whole family there so he didn't have to fetch anything. As he kept on eating, the ugly gardener worked on, his position was pathetic and almost anyone would call him a disgusting sight.
Arvind kept on looking at the gardener, as the gardener was visibly overworked and hungry. He took a sip of some cola and then asked,
"Hey mate, would you mind joining me for a little meal?"
The old man who was dirty and covered in mud replied,
"Oh sir I don't deserve such things"
Arvind who felt sad for the guy got up from his seat, took a tissue in his hands and grabbed the gardener's hand and manhandled him into sitting with him.
"Oh sir why would you do this to a dirty and hideous man like me", said the gardener.
"Don't think of yourself that way, there's no such thing as being truly ugly" said Arvind as an average looking guy himself who got rejected more times than he can count.
He walked up and got some pie and a burger for the man, along with a glass of chilled cola.
"Let's dig in together, mate!" said Arvind.
Just as the man was about to bite the burger, he turned into a beautiful woman, who was wearing some ancient looking attire.
Right then, the divine figure appeared infront on him. Arvind was visibly confused by this sudden chain of events which conspired.
"Kid, you truly seem to be a good person. This test has been taken by many others who wanted to reincarnate into the same world as the one you want to go to, though there has only been two who passed it, including you. The purpose of this is to test the inner kindness of a being. One who fails this reincarnates back to their own world and don't retain any memories while the ones who pass get a few wishes as a headstart", said the divine figure.
"That woman right there is the personification or the god of judgement. Before you move on to choosing your wishes, I'd like to tell you that I can't let you choose something which will be unfair to other trainers. I had already done that and given way too much power to the one who passed this before you recently. I can only give you something small yet helpfull like talking with pokemon." added the divine figure.
Arvind had little time to process so much. After a while he had finished eating and had decided his "semi-op'' wishes. He then walked up to the divine figure.
"Kid, I assume you're sure about your wishes?", asked the divine figure
"Yeah, I want to be able to know the level and ability or hidden ability of a pokemon, along with the power to talk to them in their own language", said Arvind.
"There are certainly great picks, while useful in the right hands, anyone cruel or rich enough could do the first two and the last one is acceptable too. Since the residents of that world speak a different language, I'll gift your brain with knowledge of that world. I wish you luck, kind soul", said the divine figure.
As he said that, Arvind's soul started to shake and soon, he was transported. He then heard some loud crying as he opened his eyes for the first time in his new body, to see a brown haired man with a lab coat and a dark-pink haired woman with spectacles. Just then he heard someone say,
"Congratulations professor sakuragi, it's a healthy baby boy"
