12 Chapter 12

Vikram's POV

" Ok, so judges decided that they must look for their inner qualities as well. The contestant has to speak about themselves they have to tell us about their qualities. Or anyone or their friends can tell us about their qualities. Whoever comes up with more qualities will be declared as Miss and Mr Intern."

" We'll start with girls. The two contestants which were elected are Dr Preeti Bhandari and Ms Sandhya Rajput. The two men who got selected are Dr Ajay and Dr Chirag.

" Four of you, please come in front and rest of you all, please take your seats offstage."

Dr Preeti Bhandari started speaking," I think I am honest, a good citizen of India. I follow all the rules as a good citizen. I respect people especially who are elder to me. " Everyone clapped for her.

Then Aakash asked Sandhya to say something. She smiled and said,

" Well, I am just a plain girl. What else, can I say more? "

Just then we saw that Ruchika came beside her and said,

" Can I tell a few things about her? She is one of the most beautiful, kind and amazing girls, she was selected as the most beautiful girl in our college last year. She is also the best cook in the world. One day I saw her carrying too much food with a very handsome man, who we know now, is her brother, but I was curious about that guy so I followed them. I had never imagined what she was planning to do. She went to an orphanage and

Distributed food there. She also distributed toys and books to them. I could not move from there. I got to know that she goes there once a month. She even goes to an old age home once a month."

Sandhya was trying to stop Ruchika from saying anything more in between and Ruchika was glaring at her. But she didn't bother and said what she wanted to.

" Well, she doesn't want me to tell all of you about all this as she gets embarrassed when we talk about it. According to her if our right-hand does some charity, even our left hand should not know about it. In our college too she used to give her lunch to whoever wanted to eat it. One day the daughter of our college's gatekeeper was very hungry and her mom was not at home. She was crying for food. She gave her food to her and remained hungry for the whole day. She is a very sweet-natured girl. Thank God that she came to New Delhi to study, or I would have never met her, as I don't know anyone in Jodhpur. "

WHAT???? She is from JODHPUR???

I was looking at Sandhya. She was embarrassed by all the things that her friend told everyone. Everyone was clapping for her continuously.

She is from Jodhpur??

" Well, right now I am feeling as if, I have been nominated for Nobel prize. Thanks to you Ruchika. " She glared at Ruchika who in turn was grinning. Everyone was laughing except for me.

Who is she? Why does she avoid me? Why is she friendly with everyone but not with me?

I came out of the hall, Gautam followed me. " What happened Vikram?? "

I told him everything he was shocked and said " You must ask her. "

" But she has been avoiding being alone with me and I can't ask her in front of everyone."

" Let's go inside, try to ask her when she is off stage. "

We went inside just in time when she was titled Ms intern. Everyone was smiling and clapping for her.

Ajay was titled as Mr Intern.

They both came off stage and everyone was saying congratulations to them. I also congratulated Ajay and finally her. She smiled faintly.

There were many people around, so I could not ask anything.

Aakash asked her, " I think I would like you to take home, to meet my mom, sweetheart. She would love to meet you... "

Scoundrel.. flirt... Idiot... I wanted to beat him to a pulp.

" I would like that, but before that, I would like you to meet my brother, I swear, he would love to kill you." She smiled innocently.

How cute...

" But why...? " Aakash asked.

" Because you just called me sweetheart. He has already beaten many guys for much less than this."

" Ok. Point taken, I was just joking," he said raising his hands in the air.

She laughed and said, " I wasn't... "

Ruchika hugged her very tight and Sandhya scolded her for saying all those things.

I was waiting for people to leave her alone. She was looking beautiful. But I needed to know the answers to my questions.

As soon as there were fewer people around, I said to her,

" I need to talk to you, come with me. "

" But, Sir... " She was again trying to avoid me.

But I said, " Enough of this, either you come with me or I will pick or drag you somewhere. I need to talk to you. You can choose any one way out of the three. " I raised my eyebrows in the most challenging manner.

She started walking beside me. We went out. No one was there, as everyone must have gone for dinner.

" Yes sir?? What do you want to talk about?? " She asked politely.

" Why are you avoiding me? "

" What? I am not. Why would I ?"

" Don't try and act smart. Tell me? "

" Sir you are highly mistaken. "

" Then why are you hiding things and telling a lie? " I shouted at her.

" I am not " she shouted back. A few people came outside. I caught her hand and walked towards the backstage.

" So, you are not avoiding me?" I asked and stepped towards her.

" No, sir." She stepped back.

" You are not hiding things from me? " I took another few steps.

" No... " She stepped back again, but her back touched the wall.

" And you are not telling lies to me? " I took two more steps towards her and now we were only inches apart from each other.

" N-NO... " She tried to get away from the left side but l placed both my arms on the wall on her either sides. She was caged now.

" Then why are you avoiding being alone with me? Why did you make Chirag bring the coffee and sandwiches to me? I know you sent them and when he asked you why you didn't do it your self, you said, you had reasons for that. What are those reasons? Hmm ?? " She was shocked but didn't say anything. She just looked away. I took one more step near her.

She got alarmed and looked at me.

" Yes, look into my eyes and answer me. Why did you say that day that you did not make food? Everyone knew that you made it. You lied to me. Why?? And that day you had reasons for not offering food to me. I want to know that reason. Say something. Why do you smile at everyone, but for me?? You are friendly with everyone except me. Tell me, what have I done to you ?? "

She again tried to escape from me but I didn't let her go.

" You are not going anywhere, till you answer me. Tell me, what have I done to you?? "

" Why are you asking me??? Don't you know the answers to your questions?? "

" No, I don't have any idea... "
