Path of Immortality in the Apocalypse

It had been 200 years since the world as we know it was destroyed, and 5 billion people died. Dimensional cracks called gates opened all over the world, and monsters flowed in like an unending tide. No modern weapon worked on those beasts. Humanity was defeated and on the run in just a month. Then, people called hunters emerged, people with immense power. Those people started to push back and created safe locations, which in the future turned into walled cities that guarded the remaining humans. In one of these cities, an orphan child named Lucas Guan exists. In this life, he is looked down upon and abused by the adults all his life. When he manages to become a hunter, he thinks his life is turning around, but even then, fate slaps him again with a useless ability, turning him into a joke again. Later, he learns about his past life as an immortal cultivator, and his life, for the first time, starts to go in the direction he wants. A/N: This is inspired by the concepts of Korean hunter novels and Chinese immortal cultivation novels.
