Chapter 26

I was having a fantastic vacation when that bastard called me back, can you believe this? 

Where are we now? 

-Chapter 26- 

Ahem. 

While Zhao Qiao and Chen Ya kept their guard up against that powerful person, that person didn't pay attention to them. 

Song Bing was ignoring Zhao Qiao and Chen Ya and instead was looking in a different direction. 

'So, you're here' 

What Song Bing was looking at, was a shadow a few kms away from him. 

Looking at the shadow, Song Bing smiled. 

'I have been waiting' 

In a blink of an eye, Song Bing disappeared and appeared again near the shadow, completely surprising Zhao Qiao, Chen Ya and James. Song Bing moved so fast that it almost looked like teleportation to them, but Zhao Qiao and Chen Ya were able to follow him, even if a little, which is way they were so shocked, if it was a teleportation they wouldn't care too much, there were many with such abilities and martial arts, but it wasn't teleportation but extreme speed, such extreme speed that they were barely able to follow. 

As for James, all he saw was a person suddenly appearing in front of his shadow from thin air. 

James's first instinct was to hide. 

"No need to run or hide" 

When James heard those words, he felt like both he and his shadow lost complete control over their bodies, no matter what they tried they weren't able to move. 

"This is a very interesting ability you have there, but I wouldn't expect anything else from an otherworlder" 

Hearing those words felt like lightning struck James. 

'He knows?!' 

[Calm down, host] 

'How can I calm down?! He knows! Is he another reincarnator?!' 

While the system told James to calm down, it also started worrying, to its knowledge, James should be the only otherworlder in this universe, so someone knowing about it can only mean a few things, and most are really bad for James. 

As if sensing James's emotions and thoughts, Song Bing chuckled. 

"I can sense a lot of worry from you. Are you afraid of not being special or maybe you're scared of being hunted for the knowledge and ability of traveling to other universes?" 

James's body stiffened or at least his mind did since his body is stuck. 

'Can he read minds?!' 

James felt like this last hour kept blowing his mind more and more, from seeing powerful people fighting, to learning stuff about his devil fruit he couldn't even guess to do, to now this. 

"I cannot read minds. Though I can feel your emotions" 

'How is this not mind reading?!' 

Feeling James's shock, Song Bing started smirking, he was having a lot of fun messing with James. 

'This is fun, I can see why Mai messes with people so much' 

"So, how is your adventure so fa-" 

{Bing, mission is over, you can come back} 

When he heard this, he felt a bit annoyed, it was just getting to the good part too. 

"Well, I have to go, see you around." 

And with those final words, he disappeared. 

Back to the battlefield. 

The fight was still going on with both sides pretty much fine. 

Well, at least physically, mentally and celestially, Lai was exhausted after using barrier so much. 

'Where the fuck is Song Bing?!' 

And as if listening to his call, Song Bing appeared next to him, which surprised him. 

"How did yo-" 

Before he could finish his words, he felt something stab his chest, looking down, he saw a dagger stabbing his chest and heart. 

When he looked at the wielder, he felt his blood run cold, it was Song Bing. 

"Why?" 

"Because you're useless now, at least that is what the higher ups said" 

Hearing the word higher ups and seeing his speed previously, Lai finally connected the dots, he was the head of this division for a long time now, Song Bing was one of his first subordinates and his right hand man, he was pretty average strength wise, but he had the ability to predict the outcome of almost anything, which earned him a lot of respect and his position. 

Lai didn't feel the pain of his heart being stabbed anymore, all he felt was rage and betrayal. 

"I'm just doing my job, don't be mad at me." 

In his moment of rage, Lai decided to use the last of his celestial energy and cause an internal explosion, to kill or at least injure Song Bing. 

"I will ki-" 

But before he could finish, his head was separated from his body, making the celestial energy calm down. 

After Lai's body and head hit the floor, Song Bing aimed his palm at both of them. 

"Obliterate" 

And like the name, Lai's body just sucked into itself and disappeared completely from existence. 

'I wonder how Xia is doing, haven't seen her in a while.' 

And with that thought, he disappeared again, like he was never there in the first place, leaving everyone completely baffled with everything that just happened in the last 2 minutes. 

As for James. 

He was currently trying to figure out what the fuck just happened and who Song Bing is. 

And with that, the deathbringers arc comes to an end. 

Now, can we talk about my salary? 

(Fine, let me finish this first)

(Ahem, ignore that. 

Short chapter, but I honestly didn't know what else to add, I wanted to end it after the battle, so the only place I could add stuff was in the middle, but I think I put everything I want there. 

I hope you enjoyed this chapter, from now on it will be a lot more James since he didn't appear much in this arc.
