New Age of Glory The King's Avatar Fan-fic

Disclaimer: The King's Avatar, the characters, and its universe do not belong to me. They belong to the original creator, Butterfly Blue. PS: I have not read TKA until the end. Therefore, I would like to apologize for any inconsistencies found in the story. You can think of it as an alternate universe if you want. This story is written for the TKA fanfic contest. Chapter 18 - Fighting against God Han

A few days passed and the test went on smoothly. Unfortunately, one person is stuck, unable to proceed onto the next quest. This person is none other than Li Haoxuan, who is unable to finish the arena portion of the Heavenly Domain Challenge.

Today, Li Haoxuan finally managed to beat the eighth person. The ninth immediately subbed in and Li Haoxuan just stared at this newcomer with a complicated expression.

"God Han… Will you go easy on this junior?" Li Haoxuan shamelessly asked for Han Wenqing to 'let him off'.

"In my dictionary, there is no such thing as going easy. I take every fight seriously," Han Wenqing answered as he began to take his stance.

The countdown for the match started and Li Haoxuan became nervous. These past few days, he had reviewed old videos out to study everyone's past match. Learning of their playstyle, of their habits and their quirks; anything that could help him win a match.

Even then, it was not easy for him to reach this stage. Han Wenqing held the record of the longest Glory Professional player to actually retire. He held on for 14 seasons. Fourteen years of competitive gameplay, fourteen years of pushing himself to the limit.

Seeing five more seconds left on the countdown, Li Haoxuan took a deep breath and calm himself down. 'No matter. I have to finish this quest today or else, it's going to be another sleepless night for me, ah!'

With that thought, Li Haoxuan also readied himself and the moment the countdown reached zero, both players immediately dashed forward. When they were close enough, both players executed their skills.

Lunge!

Straight Punch!

The tip of the Myriad Manifestation Umbrella's sword form met with Han Wenqing's fist. Both players received damage and end up being knocked back but the health that Han Wenqing lost was more than Li Haoxuan's.

Han Wenqing noticed this and couldn't help but frown. "Did you put a lot of skill points in your lunge?"

Li Haoxuan didn't answer and instead, he used another skill to attack Han Wenqing. "Those who seized the opportunity will win the match!"

Using Straight Punch to close the distance, he followed it up with Launching Kick. The moment Han Wenqing was launched up to the sky, Li Haoxuan's eyes narrowed to a dangerous glint.

Double Stab! Shining Cut!

After the two skills were released, Li Haoxuan jumped, then used Air Jump to get higher. Turning towards Han Wenqing, Li Haoxuan then released Sword Draw while still on the air, followed by Falling Light Blade.

Han Wenqing was thrown back to the ground and his health went from 94% to 78% in an instant.

Li Haoxuan landed on the ground but he didn't let his guard down. He eyed the place where Han Wenqing fell earlier. Because of the impact, there were clouds of dust on the air, making Li Haoxuan unable to see where Han Wenqing is.

Li Haoxuan was just about to randomly shoot the area when he suddenly felt a chill spreading down to his bone.

'Above!'

As he thought of this, Li Haoxuan's body already moved. He raised the Myriad Manifestation Umbrella and it opened up, forming a shield.

Han Wenqing dropped down with an Eagle Stamp, hitting the umbrella once but he didn't stop until the third time before giving up. He lands on the ground and activated Cloud Body to move faster.

He maneuvered himself behind Li Haoxuan and used Dashing Jab. Then he followed it with a few basic attacks before using Emperor's Fist.

Li Haoxuan saw Han Wenqing's stance and he quickly used the Ninja's skill, Shadow Clone Technique.

The Emperor's Fist hit the fake body, but Li Haoxuan did not suffer any damage from the skill which means, he also dodged the winds caused by the skill.

Han Wenqing started to look around for Li Haoxuan but before he could even find him, his health was once again reduced to 71%, and he could see a distinctive blood spray before him.

'Cut Throat!' Han Wenqing thought as he then turned around and threw a fist towards Li Haoxuan.

Li Haoxuan jumped backward to dodge the attack before he aimed the umbrella towards Han Wenqing. The umbrella had already changed to its gun form. What followed after was that, Han Wenqing's figure being rained by bullets as Li Haoxuan released the Launcher's skill, Gattling Gun.

Han Wenqing could only roll and dodge the bullets until the bullets ran out. By now, the two are standing at a distance, staring at each other. Han Wenqing's health is at 71% while Li Haoxuan managed to keep his health at 89%.

"Ye Xiu taught you well," Han Wenqing said to Li Haoxuan. "It seems that being beaten these past few days really groomed you into an exceptional fighter. You even managed to calmly dodge the Emperor's Fist. Not everyone can do that," Han Wenqing was praising Li Haoxuan sincerely.

"Is God Han trying to buy some time to get some of his skills to finish cooling down?" Li Haoxuan asked. Based on his research, Han Wenqing is not the one to talk too much during a match.

"No. I am sincerely praising you."

"Is that so? That is unlike you, God Han," Li Haoxuan couldn't help but feel nervous. When things did not go as he expected, he always felt that something is wrong.

"You're right. This really is unlike me to actually talk too much. Maybe the age is getting to me," he said with a smile before he turned serious once more.

Li Haoxuan changed his stance and waited for Han Wenqing to approach him. Somehow, he had a foreboding feeling that the next phase of this match won't be simple.

Han Wenqing moved, and Li Haoxuan tightened his grip on his weapon. Soon, the two clashed once more and the battle continues.

Writing on phone is not fun... there may not be any chapter tomorrow but I will try to get more chapters on Thursday.
