Chapter 15: Black Zetsu

[Eichi's P.O.V.]

It had been three weeks now since our arrival in Amegakure. We weren't able to find any new clues as to who the traitor could be.

I was starting to feel frustrated:

"This is just a waste of time... It's been three weeks now and we didn't come any closer to the traitor's identity."

Mikoto and I were sitting under a small bridge sheltering us from the rain. This had been our home for the past three weeks.

We were just about to leave again hoping that this would be the time we would finally get a new clue, when a black raven landed in front of us.

"This is Kagami-sensei's raven!" exclaimed Mikoto hoping for good news.

He took the scroll off of the raven's beek and started reading:

"The Lord Hokage is in danger, I hereby order Eichi and Mikoto to get back to Konoha and stop Danzo Shimura's plan to assassinate Tobirama Senju!"

What?! I took the scroll from Mikoto's hands quickly reading through it. The text mentioned about Suna's involvement with Danzo and the deal they made with Kagami-san as well as the Konoha-nin's testamony.

"Mikoto, teleport us back now!" I shouted at my confused friend.

But like always, Mikoto didn't need to think for himself but he just needed to do what Eichi told him to.

He grabed my arm and used {The Flying Thunder God Technique} to teleport us back to Konoha.

[Tobirama's P.O.V.]

My body has been feeling off lately. Is it telling me to finally get a successor an rest?

The fight against the Gold and Silver Brothers had quite the toll on my body, even after several weeks, I was still not fully recovered yet.

It was 7 p.m. and I had a lot of work left to do... another long night was ahead.

Like everyday for last weeks, Hiruzen and Danzo entered my office with a steaming cup of coffee in hand. I wasn't the biggest fan but I'd become quite addicted to it lately due to all the allnighters I had to pull because of this damn war.

I took the cup from Danzo's hand and started drinking it like usual. The coffee Danzo brewed had a really unique taste to it, it was a little spicy which was weird but I kinda liked it.

Suddenly, my sight started blurrying. Was I too tired? It can't be, yesterday was a rather calm day so I decided to go home earlier so I was able to sleep more than just a couple hours.

I was about to check my body with my chakra but it stopped moving, I couldn't control it anymore.

What is happening to me? I tried speaking but my whole body remained stiff not moving a bit.

I saw Hiruzen starting to get worried, he was about to call for help but... Danzo stabbed him?

"Now now Hiruzen, don't be a fool it wouls be a shame if my plan was ruined you know. It was a lot of work to make everything work." said Danzo in an mocking tone.

"You...We trusted... you. How could... you..." was all Hiruzen was able to say before collapsing on the ground.

Danzo turned towards me with a smile and said:

"And that's where you failed. Now be so good and die, the both of you so that I can become the Hokage. It's all for the greater good, it's all for Konoha afterall."

So that's it? I'll die by the hands of my own student like a fool. Hahaha.

All I could do was laugh, but then memories started emerging.

The first time I saw Ryo, I had already felt at the time that he'll be special. He had the same desire to protect as Hashirama had in his eyes.

Then a memory of the other two brats emerged. Mikoto the ever cheerful, well with our training being the exception. Hahaha.

And Eichi the leader of the the trio. *sigh* I was going to wait and make him the next Hokage, but that won't be possible anymore.

Well I'leave Konoha in your hands.

And as I was preparing myselffor the incoming death, a sudden explosion happend.

"Looks like this is the second time I had to save your ass, Tobirama-sensei." said a youth coming out of the disappearing smoke.

He had what looked like a big cleaver attaches to his back and a much smaller black sword hanging down his waist. Both hilts were covered in white bandages.

He wore a black type of mantel with a white sort of armour. He had a single red striped shoulder pad covering his left side. A teared white cloth was bound around his waist flowing down to his knees.

"Tsk. Everyone kill him quickly!" ordered the irritaded Danzo.

He tried to stab me again, letting the surrounding shinobi that were working for him take care of Eichi.

But the sword never reaches me. I was pronounced the fastes shinobj of my era and yet I couldn't see what happened.

In one moment Danzo's sword was rapidly approaching me and in the next it was gone. Not only the sword was gone, no the whole arm was cut off.

"Danzo oh Danzo you really tought these weaklings could stop me?" said Eichi calmly.

I saw severel bodies fall down spraying blood all over the office and Danzo falling back holding the remaining stumb of his right arm.

Eichi walked closer towards Danzo, when the latter used a smokebomb to escape.

I could hear some noise an some... giggling?

The smoke soon cleared and all that was left was Danzo entangled by thick vines. A voice right next to me said:

"Now now. We just arrived at the party Danzo, it's bad manners to leave before having some fun with the guests don't you think?"

"Well done Mikoto. Do you think you can heal sensei with your domain?" asked Eichi.

Mikoto answered to that:

"Well it doesn't look like a poison meant for killing people directly. Seems more like a drug to stop the chakra flow inside one's body I presume. This should be easy.

I just need to let his body remember how to let it flow naturally."

He put his hand on my head and fkr a short moment I felt immense pain followed by a sense of relief. My chakra started flowing again letting me use my body, even the injuries I received against Kinkaku were gone.

I was about to thank Mikoto when a mysterious black shadow emerged from the ground and before anyone could react, he grabbed Danzo and vanished the same way he appeared.

"No!! Why is he here?! Wasn't he supposed to look for a suitable Uchiha?!" shouted Eichi, I could feel an oppressiv force coming from him from, forcing me to kneel. His hair started to get white streaks while his left eye had a tinge of black eating it's way through the white.

While looking at Mikoto, I saw that he was in a similar situation.

"Eichi... calm down... you're crushing...us", he barely got out.

Hearing Mikoto's voice he seemes to have regained his cool and the strange changes reverted with the two swords breaking apart, leaving behind his usual weapon hanging down his waist. The black and white clothing disintegrating back into his usual attire.

"*sigh* Sorry about that, Mikoto can you heal Hiruzen?" he said as if nothing ever happened.

Mikoto made his way towards Hiruzen and placed various seals around his body before it started glowing in a greenish light.

I could finally focus on Eichi's word just now.

What did he say? 'He was supposed to look for a suitable Uchiha'?

"Boys, I never bothered to ask you about your strange abilities as I've learned to trust you.

But... Eichi from your reaction, it looks like you knew who that black figure was. And was that about the Uchiha?"

I could see Eichi think about what he could say to avoid the matter again but I interjected before he could come up with a lie :

"I want the truth Eichi! That figure escapes with Danzo, a Konoha's traitor! I can't let this one slide."

"...Alright, but we'll have to wait for Ryo", he reluctantly answered.

I simply nodded, tired of all. I really need to find a successor and retire.
